It's not an easy thing to make time for yourself in the beginning of parenthood, EVERYTHING is wrapped in your babies. Making time feels selfish, but eventually you realize that you NEED that time so you can be the best for yourself and your people. It's ok to have a passion outside of your family and it is definitely OK to go after it!

BREAKFAST FOR DINNER 🍳🥓! First time making quiche without a boat load of cheese (didn’t use any!). Crust: thinly sliced sweet potato spread across pie pan. Cook in oven 375 for 20 minutes. Sauté some onions and mushrooms with garlic. Separate bowl 5 eggs 1/2 cup GF breadcrumbs (I used Aldi’s brand). Throw onions and mushrooms in the bowl with egg and breadcrumbs. Remove the potatoes, place spinach across them and pour over egg mixture. Cook for about 20-25 minutes. It’s topped with an avocado cream. 1 avocado, little cashew yogurt, garlic, crushed red pepper, salt and pepper (this was so effing good). #breakfastfordinner #bacon

Um, yes please 🙋🏻♀️ Before finding out about my gluten allergy, I had a massive love for cinnamon rolls 😍 They were my fav treat for breakfast, & dessert, & as a snack, & you get the picture 🤪 Now, I can happily say that with this batch of muffins, I’m still able to enjoy them! 💛 They are sooo good, my mouth is watering just thinking about them! 🤤

Could there be anything more magical than a tomato based meal with fresh prawns and melting feta? Pure magic. So how to top this meal? Add pasta through it! This PRAWN SAGANAKI WITH SPAGHETTI is a surprisingly simple dish to make and is ready in less than 30 minutes. Yes you heard that correctly. It is perfect for lunch or dinner, whether it is summer or winter.
However what Saganaki Prawns remind me of is the warm summer breeze on my father’s island Paros. I was not surprised when it was voted The Best Island in Europe for 2018. It has the most beautiful beaches, charming whitewashed buildings in all the villages, stunning fishing ports and most importantly, the best fresh food I have ever eaten. You simply cannot replicate the food because you cannot buy in the city seafood that fresh (we’re talking falling off the fork fresh) and you cannot buy produce that has been grown so organically. It must be something in the soil because my brother and cousins that live there hardly water the vegetation and it grows so lusciously. Each individual ingredient is full of flavour and then the combination of everything is … mouth watering. So this meal reminds me of all that and more. Ahhh Greece 🇬🇷 can’t wait to visit you again.

Dinner: Spaghetti squash with “NoMato” sauce and grass fed beef. Since I can’t have nightshade vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, white potatoes, eggplant), I made this NoMato sauce with onions, carrots, beet, garlic, & herbs. I cut up a beef patty in place of meatballs. #AIP #celiac

The migrating motor complex (or MMC) is a cyclic pattern of movement that occurs in the stomach and small intestine. It’s stimulated by cues from the nervous system and cues from chemical messengers in our bodies. The MMC is often called the housekeeper of the digestive system because it cleans our digestive tract of residual food, secretions, and cellular debris (yum). Fasting stimulates the MMC and eating suppresses it. This is one reason why those recovering from SIBO are often told to eat less frequently. This may not be appropriate for someone who needs to gain healthy weight that may have been lost due to a digestive condition. That’s why individual recommendations are so important! A good practitioner will keep the MMC in mind while adapting your plan for your needs.
