Chakras 1: Basics/Very General
First thing I want to mention is that when most people see/ first learn about the chakras, they believe there is only seven chakras. THERE ARE MORE THAN SEVEN CHAKRAS. This idea stems from the concept that there are only 7 basic chakras in the body. This is not true though. There are actually THOUSANDS of chakras within and around the body and feel free to do research on that information but for right now I will stick to the main seven.
The seven main chakras can be seen as all the steps necessary to bake a cake. You can’t just skip whole steps when making a cake or else it will not taste good or come out well. Now if the steps aren’t completed perfectly in their own way then cake may not come out as good but it’ll still be a cake. The same goes for the chakras. Each chakra builds off of the last chakra and typically determines the development of the next chakra.
The order of chakras build from the base and travel to the crown of the head. Their name (in English) are root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye/brow, and crown.
Each chakra has a corresponding color that helps the chakra develop and distinguish from the other which follow the pattern of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
One important thing when it comes to chakras is balance. One of the most important things I tell to people is that having one strong chakra and one weak chakra is just as bad as having both chakras completely inactive. Just like baking a cake; you don’t add 1 cup of flour and 15 eggs and expect it to taste just fine. Balancing chakras is the key; not accuracy.
There are many methods to do this. These include yoga, aromatherapy, auditory training, meditation, color baths, eat fruits that correlate with the color of the chakra, physical activity, journal writing, affirmations, crystal healing, etc.
