progress: let’s talk jewelry as a part of a wardrobe. in my opinion, it is important to own some nice jewelry and i’m all for investing in it. no, it doesn’t mean that it has to be super expensive. my tips would be to avoid costume jewelry and buy silver, gold vermeil or gold plated. they will last you much longer and your fingers won’t turn green after wearing your rings. silver is actually not very expensive material, gold plated can be quite reasonably priced as well. another tip: you can find nice costume jewelry, for example, my shell necklace is from @andotherstories
& the quality is very nice. however, it would be more thoughtful to buy necklaces, bracelets and earrings from the high street & invest in rings that are silver or pure gold. simply because they can be damaged much quicker, so cheap ones will last you a season (if you’re lucky), not more, plus your hands will be green as a result of the contact with water.
gold plated rings if used often and not taken off your hands for washing can lose colour though!
anyway, i own jewelry from @mejuri
- they are all very lovely pieces. my rings have been worn for more than 2 years now & they are as good as new. (except for the gold plated one as i mentioned).
overall, in my opinion, save up and buy a silver necklace for 30€ rather than buy 3 cheap ones that will get black and ruined very quickly. ✨
