Chelsea vs Manchester City 2-0. What a result! Such a brilliant achievement for the blues to come back after last week’s embarrassing loss against Wolves to get the victory against the favourites to win the League. Manchester City smothered us in the first half and looked as if it would just be a matter of time until they broke through, however in the 45th minute Chelsea managed to form a counter attack where Eden Hazard pulled the ball back for a surging N’golo Kante breaking into the box, who fired the ball emphatically into the roof of the net to give Chelsea a surprising lead going into the break. This seemed to shift momentum within the game as Chelsea looked dominant in the second half and began to instigate chances. In the 78th minute, Chelsea doubled their lead as David Luiz knocked the ball on from a corner kick to find the net and give Chelsea a much more comfortable lead. This is an incredible result and this is the confidence that is needed to spur the team onwards. We are clearly capable of beating anyone if we play freely and confidently as shown by the way we played when we got our opener. Come on Chelsea! Wolves vs Chelsea 2-1. It’s a second defeat in a row for the blues despite leading against Wolves for the majority of the game. Chelsea performed well during the first half but during the second we had no structure and no desire to get back into the game. Chelsea started comfortably as in the 18th minute Ruben Loftus-Cheek found the net after his long range effort took a hefty deflection off Coady to reach the net. In the 59th minute, Chelsea seemed to have a lack of concentration as they let Wolves put together a superb passage of passing, that started in their own half, which led to Jimenez being played through a sticking the ball past Kepa. Wolves made it two just four minutes later as Diogo Jota found himself on the end of a back post cross to tap the ball into the net. Chelsea showed no real fight to get back into the game which is the most worrying thing. We must improve and keep our concentration in games as playing Manchester City will be a completely different challenge on Saturday. What is the problem at the moment at Chelsea? #ktbffh #cfcnews #chelseanews #chelseaforthefans #chelsea #chelseafc #premierleague #premierleaguechampions #wolves #mancity #manchestercity #loftuscheek #sarri #hazard #europe #transfer #transfers #transfernews #transferrumours #injury #rest #break #recovery #problem
Chelsea vs Fulham. The blues have won a difficult London derby against a very resilient Fulham side. It took Chelsea just four minutes to get on the scoresheet as Pedro managed to find space inside the box and knock the ball into the side netting of the goal. Despite going a goal down very early on, Fulham pressured us and created some dangerous chances. It took Chelsea until the 82nd minute to finally kill off Fulham and get our second goal as substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek was the scorer of a superbly well-worked team goal where the blues passed the ball with pace through Fulham’s defence to give Loftus-Cheek the opportunity to hammer the ball in. This was not an easy game but we have come away with the three points and a clean sheet which will be a huge confidence boost. Hopefully now we can pick up some form before our game against Man City next weekend. Chelsea vs PAOK. A comfortable victory from the blues means that Chelsea top their Europa League group with a game to spare after we surpassed Greek side PAOK effortlessly. The game was made much easier for Chelsea in the 7th minute as PAOK were reduced to ten men as they had Khacheridi shown a straight red card for his lunging tackle on Giroud who was darting towards the goal. Chelsea took advantage of this 20 minutes later as Olivier Giroud curled a brilliant first timed shot into the left hand corner of the net. Giroud doubled the scoreline and his personal tally for the night as in the 37th minute, the Frenchman latched onto a brilliantly lofted through ball from Cesc Fabregas a directed it into the net on the lunge. In the 60th minute Callum Hudson-Odoi scored his first goal for Chelsea after firing an effort in from just outside the box. In the 78th minute, just three minutes from coming on, Alvaro Morata added his name to the scoresheet after breaking away from his marker and heading the ball powerfully past Paschalakis from a pinpoint Hudson-Odoi cross. It was a victory with ease which will fill the blues with confidence going into our game against Fulham on Sunday. Tottenham vs Chelsea. A very poor performance results in our first loss of the season. Chelsea looked far from their usual self and the standards that were set earlier in the season. Chelsea went a goal down in the 8th minute after Christian Eriksen’s free kick found Dele Alli at the near post who nodded the ball over Kepa. Spurs doubled their lead just eight minutes later after Harry Kane’s long range shot left Kepa static as David Luiz’s sheepish attempt at a block left the goalkeeper at bay. Heung-Min Son then made it three in the 54th minute after going past both Luiz and Jorginho to knock the ball into the net emphatically. Chelsea managed to decrease the deficit in the 85th minute, as substitute Giroud scored a header to reduce the embarrassment. Chelsea were awful today; we showed no ambition in pressing from the front and our defensive organisation looked all over the place. Spurs managed the game excellently by isolating Jorginho in the middle of the park and pressing Chelsea into mistakes. We must learn from this as teams will pick up on how to diffuse Chelsea’s midfield. Chelsea vs Everton 0-0. A disappointing performance in the first half resulted in the blues dropping points against a very compact and organised Everton side. Chelsea left it too late to start causing the visitors problems and became growingly desperate as the game progressed. Chelsea were unlucky not to score in the 90 minutes after Marcos Alonso struck the post and had a terrific volley saved brilliantly by Pickford, but inevitably we didn’t create enough to break down the defence that Everton deployed at the start of the game. We still have a lot to improve on if we are to challenge for the title and these games are important when grinding out results in difficult circumstances. We mustn’t let Manchester City and Liverpool slip out of sight now as we are clearly capable of challenging both of them. It’s imperative that we improve for our game against Spurs after the international break. BATE Borisov vs Chelsea 0-1. It wasn’t the most convincing win this season but it sees the Blues qualify for the last 32 of the Europa League with two games spare. Chelsea found it difficult to turn their possession into goals and found it difficult finding the net. It took Chelsea until the 52nd minute to break the deadlock, as Emerson’s pinpoint cross found Olivier Giroud who headed the ball into the goal at the near post. Chelsea couldn’t manage to find another way past BATE and the game ended 0-1 which continues our flawless start to our Europa League campaign. Of course it wasn’t our best performance but it was a game that is clearly not a priority at the moment as we have a difficult game against Everton on Sunday where we need our first team fully fit. Chelsea vs Crystal Palace 3-1. Alvaro Morata flourished against Crystal Palace and adds to his scoring start this season after firing two goals past the London visitors. Morata opened the scoring in the 32nd minute after taking a beautifully timed touch inside the box from Pedro’s cross in order to fire the ball in from close range. Thirteen minutes into the second half, Crystal Palace found a way back into the game after some poor positioning from David Luiz granted Andros Townsend with space to float in behind the back line and finish perfectly into the bottom corner of the net. Chelsea retained their lead after Alvaro Morata again struck for Chelsea after he emphatically volleyed the ball past Hennessey after he was found wide in space by the imminently substituted Eden Hazard. Chelsea killed the game off in the 70th minute as Pedro got on the scoresheet after the Spaniard fired the ball into the net perfectly with one touch from Marcos Alonso’s driven cross. Chelsea played some very attractive football against their London rivals and looked at full force with a glimpse of Eden Hazard back to fitness. Chelsea vs Derby 3-2. A very poor overall performance from Chelsea, who narrowly surpassed Derby in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup last night. It was a completely changed Chelsea lineup that was fielded to play Derby compared to the one during the weekend, but nevertheless one that was clearly cable of beating Frank Lampard’s Derby side. Chelsea went a goal up inside five minutes as Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori unfortunately put one into his own net after his sliced clearance caught the wrong side of his boot and bobbled into the net. Derby then equalised in the ninth minute after a horrific mistake from Gary Cahill who gave the ball away in the middle of the park and then slipped to allow Jack Marriot to be fed through who finished the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Chelsea took the lead again in the 21st minute after Derby scored yet another own-goal, this time it being Richard Keogh, after Zappacosta’s cross was deflected in. Yet another defensive error led to Derby equaliser in the 27th minute, after Waghorn found himself completely unmarked at the far post to tap the ball past Caballero simply. Chelsea managed to take the lead for a third time in the 41st minute after Cesc Fabregas blasted the ball past Carson after the ball fell to the Spaniard inside the box. Chelsea held onto their lead despite some threatening attacks from Derby who looked very capable of scoring against us. It was an incredibly dire performance defensively and when attempting to keep possession but we have progressed through to the quarter finals where we will play Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the 18th December. What do you think was the reason for such an awful Chelsea performance against Derby last night? #ktbffh #cfcnews #chelseanews #chelseaforthefans #chelsea #chelseafc #lampard #franklampard #derby #bournemouth #carabaocup #tomori #leaguecup #premierleague #premierleaguetitle #fabregas #cescfabregas #rubenloftuscheek #loftuscheek #stamfordbridge #transfer #transfers #transfernews #transferrumours #rest #break #recovery #injury
Burnley vs Chelsea 0-4. It was a stunning performance by Chelsea who put four past a strong Burnley side on Sunday. The blues opened the scoring inside 22 minutes as Ross Barkley threaded an inviting ball through to Alvaro Morata who knocked the ball past Joe Hart. Chelsea made it two in the 57th minute, as the in-form Ross Barkley got a goal for himself after driving the ball past Joe Hart from 25 yards with his weak foot. Willian added to the action just five minutes later after scoring from similar range as his shot curled into the bottom corner. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also found himself on the scoresheet after tapping the ball home at the back post in the 92nd minute to add to Chelsea‘s very impressive scoreline. It was a wonderful performance by Chelsea who showed real quality and finesse when finishing. Chelsea vs BATE 3-1. Chelsea cruise past Belarusian side BATE and win their third successive game in the Europa league this season after Ruben Loftus-Cheek becomes the first Chelsea player to score a Hat-trick in a European competition since Didier Drogba against Levski in 2006. Loftus-Cheek opened up the scoring in just the second minute as he arrows the ball into the net from Zappacosta’s cross. Loftus-Cheek then doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 8th minute after heading the ball past the keeper from Willian’s corner. Ruben Loftus-Cheek then sealed his Hat-trick in the 53rd minute as his beautifully timed shot from 20 yards nestled into the net. It was not the perfect night for the blues though as our clean sheet was wiped by Aleksey Rios just ten minutes before the final whistle after tapping the ball past Kepa at the back post. It was yet another comfortable win for Chelsea in the Europa League and we now look forward to Burnley on Sunday where we look to replicate our form. A super performance from Loftus-Cheek earns himself a deserved man of the match award and the match ball to take home. Chelsea vs Manchester United 2-2. It was a thrilling affair at the bridge yesterday which saw Chelsea snatch a draw in the dying moments to maintain our unbeaten start to the season. It was Chelsea who opened the scoring in the 21st minute as Rüdiger lost his marker in the box and headed the ball past De Gea from Willian’s corner. The second half began to be the turning point of the game as in the 55th minute Anthony Martial equalised for Manchester United after the ball fell to the Frenchman inside the box who volleyed the ball past Kepa from close range. Martial then scored his second of the game and granted Manchester United the lead in the 73rd minute as Rashford’s cross fell to Martial who curled the ball into the bottom corner from just inside the box. It looked as if our first loss of the season was imminent but in the 96th minute, substitute Ross Barkley snatched a draw for the blues after firing the ball into the net from close range following Luiz’s effort hitting the post with the last kick of the game. This sparked a bust-up both on and off the pitch as Mourinho was angered by one of the Chelsea coaching staff who celebrated in front of him which caused a confrontation between staff on the the sideline. It was a brilliant game to watch and we are very lucky to have ended up with the draw at the end despite controlling the game for the majority of the 90 minutes. Southampton vs Chelsea 0-3. The blues continue their excellent form at St. Mary’s as they put in another impressive performance before the International break. Chelsea looked in full force going forwards straight after kick off. Eden Hazard made Southampton pay half an hour into the game after Ross Barkley won the ball back and played a perfectly timed ball into the Belgian who stuck the ball into the net yet again this season. 57 minutes into the game, Ross Barkley scored for himself and opened his Chelsea account, after he found himself unmarked after latching onto Giroud’s marvellously assisted bicycle kick. In the 93rd minute, substitute Alvaro Morata sealed the victory for Chelsea after chipping the ball over McCarthy for Chelsea’s third. We move into second place ahead of the International break with Manchester United to follow shortly after. The boys have been very impressive over the last few games and we seem to flow more as a team going forwards compared to the start of the season. Chelsea vs MOL Vidi 1-0. Despite an overall poor performance, the blues have won their second game in the Europa League this season against the Hungarian Champions. Chelsea did not look fluid enough going forwards and lacked the critical finishing. It took until the 70th minute to break the deadlock, as Alvaro Morata opened his account for the season after smashing the ball into the net from close range after Willian headed the ball into his path. The game ended 1-0 which is a disappointing scoreline however we have a big game at the weekend against Southampton which is more important at this moment. This game is a clear example of why we must take the Europa league seriously as it could be promising opportunity to win a trophy this season. Chelsea vs Liverpool 1-1. Our second game against Liverpool this week is disappointingly tied as the visitors scored late on to steal the nearing victory from the blues. Eden Hazard struck first yet again for Chelsea as a beautifully threaded through ball from Kovacic latched onto the run of Eden Hazard who knocked the ball past Allison in the 25th minute. Chelsea looked as if their defensive duties had paid off over the 90 minutes until Liverpool struck late on in the 89th minute as a sumptuous goal from Daniel Sturridge, who had come on just three minutes before, nestled the top corner of the net from outside the box. Chelsea still continue their unbeaten record so far in the Premier league but the feeling is bitter after coming so close to beating a serious title rival. Positively, we seem to have improved hugely over our last two games and look in serious shape to continue our title surge. Liverpool vs Chelsea 1-2. A massive result for Chelsea as the blues surpass a huge title rival in the Carabao Cup after coming from behind to knock Liverpool out thanks to a moment of brilliance from substitute Eden Hazard late on. Both Chelsea and Liverpool fielded weakened sides due to both teams playing each other on Saturday in the League although the game did not disappoint. Daniel Sturridge gave Liverpool the lead in the 58th minute after perfectly volleying the ball into an open net after Willy Caballero’s palmed out save fell to him. Despite Liverpool dominating throughout the second half, Chelsea levelled in the 79th minute after Ross Barkley’s header was kept out by Simon Mignolet and pushed into the path of an eager Emerson who tapped the ball into the net for his first Chelsea goal. In the 85th minute, Chelsea took the lead as Eden Hazard took it amongst himself to score a brilliant solo goal as he weaved through four Liverpool defenders and then rifled the ball past mignolet to make it 1-2. It was a moment of magic from Eden Hazard who is proving to be the best player in the world on current form. Chelsea are now through to the third round of the Carabao cup, but more importantly, this will give Chelsea a huge psychological effect on Saturday when Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge for arguably the biggest game of the season so far. Chelsea vs West Ham 0-0. It was a frustrating day for Chelsea as the blues have finally broken their perfect winning streak in the premier league. Chelsea couldn’t quite find a way past a very sturdy West Ham side who defended well throughout. Our attack didn’t seem capable of creating enough opportunities in front of goal and the passing seemed very poor at times. The substitutions of Morata and Barkley livened the game up later on but we still couldn’t find a way through their defence. Hopefully this will just be a one off game as we didn’t perform to a high enough standard on Saturday. We have some important games looming and we must put this result behind us. Paok vs Chelsea 0-1. Chelsea open their Europa league campaign with a win, after the blues turned over Greek side Paok last night. Chelsea took the lead just seven minutes into the game as Ross Barkley made a brilliant direct run towards goal and freed Willian who comfortably blasted the ball underneath the goalkeeper. Chelsea dominated the game and had most of the ball throughout the game, however held their one goal advantage for the 90 minutes to grab the three points. Not the most flattering scoreline but it’s three points in the bag which is what matters. We now prepare for our next game in the Europa League which is against Hungarian side Videoton on the 4th October. Chelsea vs Cardiff City 4-1. Chelsea cruise to the top of the table and maintain their 100% record in the premier league after an excellent attacking performance on Saturday, inspired by Eden Hazard. Chelsea suffered an early scare in the first half as after 15 mins Cardiff had taken the lead after a lifted set piece ball was headed back by Morrison and into the path of Bamba who flicked the ball into the net. Chelsea then levelled as in the 37th minute Eden Hazard superbly dodged an incoming tackle and drilled the ball into the bottom corner superbly from outside of the box. Just two minutes before half time, Eden Hazard scored his second of the match as Olivier Giroud’s brilliantly weighted touch gifted Hazard the opportunity to blast the ball past Etheridge to give Chelsea the lead. In the 80th minute, Chelsea cemented their lead as substitute Willian was scythed down inside the box and was awarded a penalty which was given to Eden Hazard to secure his second Chelsea Hat-trick of his career. The Belgian sent Etheridge the wrong way and hammered the ball into the side of the net. Just three minutes later, Chelsea turned on the style as Willian got himself on the scoresheet after he scored a wonderful effort from outside the box that floated into the top corner for Chelsea’s fourth of the day. Chelsea yet again struggled to break the deadlock early on though, as it took until the 72nd minute for the blues to take the lead as Substitutes Pedro and Giroud combined to give Chelsea their deserved lead after Pedro found the net from just outside the box. Chelsea then doubled their lead and solidified the victory after Eden Hazard got himself on the scoresheet after drilling the ball past Begovic and into the net in the 85th minute. Newcastle vs Chelsea 1-2. A dominating game from Chelsea gets us our third victory from three, despite Newcastle providing a close shave for the blues towards the end of the game. Chelsea played very well and their possession was almost mesmerising at times but questions began to be asked on whether it was enough to break down a very defensive Newcastle side who were very negative going forwards. Chelsea were finally able to break the deadlock after 76 minutes as Marcos Alonso was swept off his feet in the penalty area by Fabian Schär and was awarded a penalty. Eden Hazard stepped up and sunk the ball into the side netting, giving Chelsea their deserved lead. It came as a scare to Chelsea though as just seven minutes later, Yedlin delivered an inviting cross in which Joselu headed into the top corner past kepa to equalise. With just three minutes remaining of the 90 minutes, Chelsea managed to snatch back their lead after a well worked set piece fell to Marcos Alonso whose shot was deflected in by Yedlin to give Chelsea their victory at St. James’ Park. Chelsea were excellent at keeping the ball today but didn’t seem as potent at sculpting chances or putting them away which could haunt us. Chelsea vs Arsenal 3-2. A very important victory against our London rivals Arsenal sees Chelsea pick up our second win this season. Chelsea took an early lead against the Gunners as in the 9th minute Marcos Alonso’s low driven cross found Pedro who knocked the ball past Petr Cech. Chelsea went two goals up inside 20 minutes after Alvaro Morata opened up his personal account for the season after he latched onto Azpilicueta’s long ball and held off Mustafi superbly to put the ball into the back of the net for Chelsea’s second. However just 10 minutes from the half time break, Chelsea found the selfs clinging onto the game as Henrikh Mkhitaryan drilled the ball past Kepa who got a hand to the ball. Four minutes later Arsenal found themselves equal after Mkhitaryan’s cross found Iwobi who blasted the ball into Chelsea’s net. After 61 minutes, Chelsea brought on the needed Eden Hazard who subsequently changed the game as in the 81st minute the Belgian dribbled deep into Arsenal’s penalty area and pulled the ball back for Marcos Alonso, who had made a late run into the box, for the ball to be knocked past Cech for the winner. Chelsea have turned the pressure up on the challenging title rivals after seeing off Arsenal for three points. We now look to Newcastle next week in hope of making it three wins out of three. Huddersfield vs Chelsea 0-3. The perfect start for Chelsea in their opening game of the new premier league campaign as the blues ease past Bournemouth to their first win under Sarri. Chelsea have set the tone and go second after the first match-day by goal difference which is an important statement into the new season. Chelsea took a while to get going and were given a good game by Huddersfield in the first half but managed to score in the 34th minute as Willian’s delightful trickery along the line produced a looping cross which N’golo Kante was able to direct into the net. Chelsea later doubled their lead minutes before the break after Marcos Alonso was swept from underneath him and awarded a penalty. Jorginho was the man trusted to take the spot kick to which he scored on his premier league debut for the club. Chelsea then managed to kill the game off in the 80th minute after substitute Eden Hazard surged forwards and threaded a through ball into Pedro who audaciously chipped Ben Hamer for our third. It was a very encouraging result but we must not get carried away as we can still improve. DONE DEAL: Chelsea have finally met Thibaut Courtois’ demands and let the Belgian join Real Madrid for £35 million. Courtois has attempted moves away from the bridge for the past year now due to personal reasons and over the past few days his actions took a more dramatic turn as he decided not to turn up for training or to talk to new manager Sarri. It’s a shame that Courtois’ four year reign at the bridge has ended in such a way but if he wants to leave then there is no point keeping him at the club. Courtois is undoubtedly one of the world’s best in his position and it will always be very difficult to replace him. He has achieved so much with Chelsea after winning four trophies in his four years at the club but his time here will be remembered as sour after the way he has treated this club and forced a move away despite being under contract. Never the less, thank you for your stunning performances and good luck in your new career chapter Thibaut - I’m sure that you will find great success. What are your thoughts on the way Courtois’ transfer was handled by the club and Thibaut? @thibautcourtois #ktbffh #cfcnews #chelseanews #chelseaforthefans #chelsea #chelseafc #transfer #transfers #transfernews #transferrumours #courtois #thibautcourtois #premierleague #premierleaguetitle #premierleaguechampions #realmadrid #madrid #deadlineday #goalkepper #rest #break #recovery #newseason
Done Deal: Chelsea have broken their own transfer record and world record for a goalkeeper as the blues have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga for £71 million from Athletic Bilbao on a 7 year deal. Kepa has been signed as Chelsea’s first choice goalkeeper in replace of Thibaut Courtois who has forced a move away from the Bridge. Kepa is just 23 years old and has played brilliantly for Athletic Bilbao last season. The price tag is obviously very flattering as the Spaniard was only valued between £20-£30 million in January but Chelsea are desperate for a keeper after Courtois’ departure and Kepa is very talented for a young player. What are your thoughts on our record signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga? #cfcnews #chelseanews #chelseaforthefans #ktbffh #chelsea #chelseafc #premierleague #premierleaguechampions #kepa #spain #courtois #thibautcourtois #rest #break #recovery #preseason #transfer #transfers #transfernews #transferrumours #goalkeeper #deadlineday #record #chelseatransfer
Chelsea vs Lyon 0-0 (5-4 on pens). Chelsea have won their final game of the ICC Cup ahead of their first game in the premier league on Saturday. The blues fielded a weaker side against the French visitors for the first half and majority of the second half, however made eleven changes to the starting eleven after 59 minutes. The game was 0-0 after 90 minutes although the game got progressively more interesting towards the death as substitutes Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso began to control the game. Chelsea prepared for penalties for the third time this preseason and the blues confidently scored their first four penalties before Pape Cheikh’s spot kick was saved by Rob Green. This gave Eden Hazard the opportunity to win the game, which he took. This was just a practice game ahead of our new campaign starting in a matter of days so things seemed quite static when moving the ball at times, however we won the game and looked ready to go as the game developed. Chelsea vs Manchester City 0-2. A double from Sergio Agüero sunk Chelsea as the blues forfeited the Community shield after a disappointing performance. Chelsea were a class under Manchester City today and were not very threatening going forwards which cost us the trophy. After 13 minutes the premier league champions were ahead after Phil Foden carried the ball into the Chelsea third and knocked the ball to Agüero who emphatically passed the ball past Caballero from just outside of the box. Manchester City doubled their lead after 58 minutes as Bernardo Silva played a perfectly timed through ball which pierced the Chelsea back line and gave Agüero the opportunity to slot the ball past Caballero for his second of the game. The game ended 0-2 without any real pressure from Chelsea which was disappointing after the excitement that we witnessed during Preseason. Granted, the blues were missing some key players in the likes of Hazard, Kante and Courtois but we didn’t ask enough questions of City’s defence. This is not a huge loss but it gives Man City an advantage going into the new Premier league season with some confidence, authority and a trophy under their belt which would have helped us massively. Chelsea’s preseason tour has finished and the blues have flown home to England after travelling to Australia, France and Ireland. The blues have looked very impressive and seem to keep possession much more whilst playing in their new 4-3–3 formation. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ross Barkley and Jorginho have all been very impressive during our tour and should be involved heavily in the coming season. We now have until Sunday to prepare for our Community shield match against Manchester City which will be a nice trophy to win and is important if we want to set statement to other title challenging clubs next season. Chelsea vs Arsenal 1-1 (5-6 on penalties). Chelsea played their second penalty shootout in a matter of days, however this time it did not favour us as Arsenal triumphed in the shootout. Chelsea took an early lead in the game as Antonio Rüdiger headed the ball into the Arsenal net after five minutes. Just ten minutes later Calum Hudson-Odoi was swept off his feet in the penalty area and was awarded a penalty. Alvaro Morata stepped up but his effort was saved by Petr Cech. With a third victory of preseason looming, Alexandre Lacazette equalised for Arsenal at the death of the game after tapping a crossed ball into the back of the net to take the game to penalties. Overall, Chelsea took some strong penalties and scored every penalty until our sixth taker stepped up in the shape of Ruben Loftus-Cheek whose penalty was saved. This gave Alex Iwobi the opportunity to win the game for the gunners, which he took. Chelsea have lost their final game of preseason which is definitely disappointing as we were so close from victory, however these games are just pace setters. Ross Barkley, Calum Hudson-Odoi and Jorginho have been really impressive and the style of play could look to be lucrative in the coming season. Chelsea vs Inter Milan 1-1 (5-4 on penalties). Chelsea have won their second game of preseason via a penalty shootout after being held for a draw in the 90 minutes against Inter Milan. Chelsea again played well and looked in control of the game as the blues kept possession very well. Chelsea started the game off brightly as in the 8th minute Alvaro Morata weaved through the Inter Milan defenders and fired a shot at Samir Handanovic who palmed the ball into Pedro’s path who knocked the ball into the back of the net on his 31st birthday. The Chelsea lead was wiped however, as in the 49th minute Gagliardini was played through by Mauro Icardi and fired the shot at Willy Caballero who couldn’t keep it out of the net. After the 90 minutes, the game was tied and went to a spot kick shootout. Chelsea’s chosen penalty takers Jorginho, Drinkwater, Moses, Abraham and Azpilicueta all scored their penalties, however Inter Milan’s Skriniar’s penalty was saved by Willy Caballero to give Chelsea the edge after penalties. This is Sarri’s second game in charge and second win and it looks like the players are growing more confident with the possessive style of play. Chelsea will play a familiar side in the shape of Arsenal on Wednesday in their next preseason tie. Done deal: Chelsea have signed Rob Green as a third goalkeeper on a free transfer from Huddersfield town. With the transfer of Thibaut Courtois leaving Stamford Bridge looming, Chelsea have strengthened their depth in the goalkeeping area. Green is a very experienced goalkeeper and has made 12 appearances for England after playing in the 2010 World Cup. The Englishman is 38 years old now but I doubt he’ll play competitively for Chelsea and is just seen as a back up if we need him. It’s not the most exciting transfer and to me it seems pointless as we have sent three goalkeepers out on loan in Baxter, Eduardo and Blackman. Perth Glory vs Chelsea 0-1. A very solid performance by Chelsea in their first game in charge under Maurizio Sarri and a first win in the club’s pre-season campaign. Chelsea held possession well today and new signing Jorginho was at the heart of that in his first 45 minutes for the club. Chelsea took the lead in the first half through Pedro, after Callum Hudson-Odoi wonderfully went past his defender a struck a great cross into the Spaniard who directed the ball into the net through a volley. Chelsea continued to play well in the second half but were less threatening, however the game ended with Chelsea winning their first game of Pre-season and under new manager Maurizio Sarri. I was very pleased with Chelsea’s style of play and it’s refreshing to see football that flows more within the Chelsea team. There are clearly a few question marks over who will be playing in a multitude of positions next season but that is expected at this stage. Done deal: Chelsea have completed their first signing of the summer as Jorginho has signed for Chelsea on a five year deal from Napoli. The Italian will wear the number five shirt and the transfer fee is said to be worth £57 million which becomes the club’s second highest transfer fee in it’s history. Jorginho has spent the last four years at Napoli and has been a regular at under his new coach Sarri. I think Jorginho is a great signing for us as we have clearly needed someone who is capable of controlling the midfield next to N’golo Kante and Jorginho is definitely capable of doing that. He is very good on the ball and is a hard-worker in midfield which Sarri is able to trust as he has decided that he is the first player that he needs in order to suit his style of play. Welcome to Chelsea football club Maurizio Sarri! Chelsea have appointed Sarri as their new manager to succeed Antonio Conte. The Italian has previously managed Napoli for three years and last year finished second in the Serie A. Sarri prefers to play possession based football and is against punting the ball up the pitch in search of goals. Surprisingly the Italian has never won a trophy which is unnerving to hear. I am definitely disappointed of the news that Chelsea have sacked Antonio Conte in order for Sarri to become our next manager as I belief that his managerial history isn’t as lucrative compared to Conte’s, however I am completely behind the man to succeed and believe the club need to back him to make sure a situation similar to Conte’s doesn’t arise. Official: Chelsea football club have parted ways with Antonio Conte as his two year reign at Stamford bridge has come to an end following the club sacking him today. Antonio Conte deserves full credit for the magnificent job that he has done during his two years at the club, including an extraordinary title win. This man has helped the club considerably as his support helped us transition from such a low point in the club’s history. Winning the Premier league title and FA Cup in your first two seasons in England is an incredible achievement and I believe that the way this club have treated him is sickening and has triggered his demise. Chelsea football club is in a period of dismay and all questions are being pointed to the board about the development of the club. The blues are already two weeks into their summer break and we don’t even know who will be managing our team next season. If we don’t sort out the situation about a manager within the next week we will be caught up by the World Cup which will make it difficult to appoint a manager or sign players. News has also arisen about owner Roman Abramovich selling the club as he has had trouble with getting a new UK Visa. Chelsea look very weak and unorganised going into the summer where, out of all the challenging clubs for the title next season, we are in need of the biggest improvement to our squad. Chelsea vs Manchester United 1-0. Chelsea win the FA Cup final to secure a trophy this season. The blues had to put up a fight to defend their lead but we held on to lift the cup. Chelsea started the first half very well and were asking a lot of questions of a very reserved Manchester United side. In the 21st minute, Fabregas played a beautifully weighted pass to Eden Hazard who blitzed past Phil Jones and into the penalty area. Jones lunged into Hazard and subsequently fouled the Belgian and a penalty was awarded. Questions arose about a possible red card for the defender as it was a clear goal scoring opportunity which was denied, but Michael Olivier showed Jones just a yellow card. Eden Hazard stepped up to the spot and stuck the ball past De Gea to give Chelsea a deserved lead. The blues finished the half strongly without any real threat of conceding, however after the second half begun, Manchester United showed much more prowess going forwards and put a lot of pressure on Chelsea. The blues had to defend well for the rest of game and thankfully we managed to hold our lead. It’s such an achievement to have a trophy after our poor season and this is a great way to enter the summer. Well done to all the players today played magnificently in such an important match. Newcastle vs Chelsea 3-0. A dismal display from the blues today tops off a very poor overall season for Chelsea which sees us finish 5th. Chelsea were embarrassing and the players should be ashamed of their performance. The blues looked incapable of creating anything from the moment we kicked off and Newcastle took advantage of that and took the lead in the 23rd minute after a calamity by Thibaut Courtois gifted Dwight Gayle a free header into an open net. Newcastle made it two in the 59th minute as Jonjo Shelvey’s scruffed strike fell to Ayoze Perez, who was poorly marked by Azpilicueta, who knocked the ball past Courtois. The final Newcastle goal was the final blow that embarrassed Chelsea, after our horrendous defending of a set piece lead to Ayoze Perez netting his second and Newcastle’s third. Today was yet again a lack lustred performance which adds to the long list this season. Chelsea accumulated 6 shots to Newcastle’s 16 which was a clear indication of our intent going forwards. Despite dominating the game with 75% of the ball, Chelsea fell short which means our only way of getting into the Champions League next season is if Liverpool lose and Chelsea win on the final day of the season. The blues created a multitude of chances in the first half, however they entered the dressing room at half time goalless as Huddersfield made it very difficult to break them down. Chelsea vs Liverpool 1-0. The race for the top four is still on! Chelsea have managed to overcome our biggest hurdle in these last few games of the season to move to only two points behind fourth place. The blues played very well today and have really started to fight for a place in the Champions League next year in the remainder of the season. During the start of the game today, the blues had to endure Liverpool keeping a lot of possession, however going forward we looked more of a threat. Chelsea took the lead inside 32 minutes as Victor Moses’ direct cross found Olivier Giroud who nodded the ball past Karius. Chelsea continued to attack Liverpool and created chances but essentially let Liverpool hold the ball as they weren’t very effective in the final third. Chelsea vs Southampton 2-0. Chelsea have made it to the final of the Fa Cup and will face a Manchester United on the 19th May. A superb performances by the blues sees us to final of the Fa Cup in style. It was a goalless first half with Chelsea putting most of the pressure on Southampton but unable to find the net however just one minute into the second half Oliver Giroud broke the deadlock after scoring a wonderful goal after winding through three players to knock the ball into the back of the net. Chelsea doubled their lead and confirmed their place in the final after Alvaro Morata headed Azpilicueta’s cross past McCarthy. Chelsea played excellent and exiting football today and Eden Hazard looks back to his best after putting in a world class performance. Burnley vs Chelsea 1-2. A solid performance from Chelsea today and despite a slight scare Chelsea managed to take all three points at Turf Moor against an in-form Burnley side. Antonio Conte fielded a much changed side compared to last game as Emerson and Bakayoko both made starts and Morata and Giroud started together up front. Chelsea took the lead in the 20th minute after Victor Moses darted into the box and delivered a piercing cross which ricocheted off Burnley defender Kevin Long and into the net to give the blues a deserved lead. Chelsea controlled the game for the majority of the match however in the 64th minute Gudmundsson’s long range effort took a catastrophic deflection off Ashley Barnes which trickled into the goal. Chelsea responded quickly though as Emerson’s cross fell to the feet of Victor Moses who pelted the ball into the net from close range five minutes later. The blues managed to see out the remainder of the game to move to just five points behind Tottenham in a fourth place battle. What a comeback! Southampton vs Chelsea 2-3. Despite being 2-0 with just 20 minutes remaining, the blues rose from their misery to score three swift goals to swipe Southampton’s lead. Chelsea didn’t start the game as quickly Southampton today, who looked desperate for some points, and this resulted in Chelsea going a goal down after ex-Chelsea player Ryan Bertrand meandered down the line and crossed the ball to Dusan Tadic who slotted the ball past Courtois. Southampton doubled the deficit as James Ward-Prowse’s set piece was found at the back post by Jan Bednarek who tapped the ball into the net to make it two. It looked like mission impossible for Chelsea who had lost all belief and looked deflated. In the 61st minute Antonio Conte brought on two substitutions in Pedro and Olivier Giroud to change the game. Within just seven minutes Olivier Giroud had already got himself on the scoresheet after his header beat McCarthy at the near post. Five Minutes later Chelsea drew level after Willian’s superb low cross fell to Eden Hazard who hammered the ball into the roof of the net. Unbelievably, Chelsea scored a third to take the lead, as the ball fell into super-sub Giroud’s path who volleyed it into the net to complete the remarkable comeback. The game ended with an extraordinary win for the blues after what looked to be a game out of reach by 60 minutes. Chelsea played some exciting and positive football today but were unable to kill the game off which cost us. Before the game began, the entire stadium gave their love to Ray Wilkins who sadly passed away this week which was heartwarming to see. The blues looked very creative going forwards in the first half and took the lead in the 36th minute after a short corner resulted in Alvaro Morata heading the ball down to Azpilicueta who was able to poke the ball into the net from close range. Azpilicueta payed his respect to Ray Wilkins as his celebration involved kissing the Chelsea badge and pointing to the black armband which was an emotional moment for such a loved man. Chelsea looked dangerous after they scored as Alvaro Morata had two goals disallowed for offside, however substitute Javier Hernandez stole a goal for West Ham in the 73rd minute just three minutes after coming off the bench. Chelsea were unable to clinch a late goal back and the game finished with the points shared in what looks to be a very poor season for the blues. This season is over and today’s game really sums our campaign up perfectly. We should focus on next season now and give the inexperienced players a run out as we don’t have much to lose anymore. Chelsea vs Tottenham 1-3. Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions league next season looks to have been shattered as Tottenham have increased their advantage to eight points after sealing their first win at Stamford Bridge for 20 years today. Chelsea started the game well and looked to have a grasp on the game for the first half as Tottenham didn’t really seem to cause any threat to the blues. Chelsea took the lead in the 30th minute as Alvaro Morata rose to knock the ball into the goal after he was found by Victor Moses’ cross. Despite being dominant for the half, Chelsea found themselves walking into the tunnel drawing as Moses’ poor clearance gave the ball away for Eriksen to hit a magnificent shot from outside the box to beat Caballero in net. Chelsea conceded again in the 62nd minute as Eric Dier’s long ball found Dele Alli who calmly took the ball down and chipped the ball past Caballero to take the lead. Just four minutes later Dele Alli found himself in the scoresheet again as after a multitude of shots in the box, the ball fell to the Englishman to slot into the goal to double Tottenham’s lead. Chelsea couldn’t regain their grasp on the game for the remainder of the match and it finished with a disappointing result in a game that we needed to win desperately. I think that today we were very unlucky as in the first half we had control of the game and looked as if we could score more but unfortunately, due to a moment of magic from Eriksen, we went into the dressing room deflated and it completely changed the tone for both teams. It now seems very unlikely that we will finish in the top four this season... #ktbffh #cfcnews #chelseanews #chelseaforthefans #chelseafc #chelsea #tottenham #spurs #alli #delealli #dele #eriksen #christianeriksen #morata #alvaromorata #easter #eastersunday #topfour #premierleague #premierleaguechampions #championsleague #rest #break #recovery #injury
Leicester vs Chelsea 1-2. Chelsea surpass Leicester in extra time to progress into the semi-finals of the FA Cup where we will face Southampton at Wembley. The blues played really confidently today and controlled the pace of the game and looked comfortable going into extra time. Chelsea started the game well and played on the counter attack to get their opening goal as in the 42nd minute Willian produced a surging run out of danger from his own half and then freed Alvaro Morata with an exquisite through ball for the Spaniard to compose himself and knock the ball over Kasper Schmeichel. It was refreshing to see Morata on the score sheet today with his eleven match goal drought being crushed; this should give Morata more confidence which looks to have grown vastly today. In the 76th minute, the blues conceded as Leicester’s luck was in as Jamie Vardy knocked in their fourth attempt at goal after the ball kept falling to Leicester players as the ball looked destined to reach the back of the net. The game went to extra time where Chelsea looked much stronger as their quality shone through in the fatigue. Substitute Pedro found the winning goal in the 105th minute as he headed the ball over Schmeichel after latching onto Kante’s lofted cross. Chelsea are now through to the semi final in which we have drawn Southampton which is looking to be played on the 21st of April. This is our last chance to win a trophy this season so this semi final is a must win game for the blues. Barcelona vs Chelsea 3-0. Chelsea are out of the Champions League after losing 4-1 on aggregate to Barcelona. Chelsea played well tonight and looked dangerous going forwards but it was our simple errors that cost us heavily over the two legs. Chelsea went behind just three minutes into the game after Lionel Messi was able to squeeze the ball through the legs of Thibaut Courtois from an acute angle, which the Belgian should have done better with. Chelsea found themselves two behind after 20 minutes, as a sloppy pass from Cesc Fabregas gave the ball to the dangerous Messi who managed to provide Ousmane Dembele with the opportunity to strike the ball past Courtois. Lionel Messi added to his personal tally as in the 63rd minute he blitzed past our defence and knocked the ball through Courtois’ legs for the second time this evening. The blues were denied by the woodwork twice again tonight and created many chances going forwards but our mistakes that we made to give Barcelona their goals across both ties have proved fatal. It was always going to be a difficult tie for Chelsea but I think that we played well during both games and can take positives away from this and can now focus on the league in what has proven to be a poor season overall. Chelsea vs Crystal Palace 2-1. Chelsea take all three points today despite a late scare as Crystal Palace managed to provide a tense ending to the game after reducing our lead to one goal in the dying minutes. Chelsea opened the scoring in the 25th minute as Willian’s long range effort took a slight deflection and found the net. Chelsea went two goals to the good after Zappacosta’s shot hit Martin Kelly, as he was attempting to stop the ball crossing the line, and was put into his own net. Chelsea looked to have the game sewn up after many clear opportunities arose for the blues however Crystal Palace hit back as Van Aanholt knocked the ball underneath Courtois to produce a nervy ending to the game. Chelsea played very well today and created a handful of chances however weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. We have now made up some ground behind Liverpool and are only four points away from them so we still have it all to play for this season. Manchester City vs Chelsea 1-0. A shameful performance from Chelsea today as the blues were completely disgraceful in their intent to attack Man City. Today was one of the worst performances I have seen the blues play; we played negatively from the moment the game began and continued to play that way whilst we were losing. The players should be ashamed of the way their played today and need to take responsibility from this defeat as the pressing today was very lacklustre and most of them looked defeated before the game begun. Chelsea somehow managed to keep a clean sheet for the first half of the game despite looking unable to maintain the ball and passing it backwards at every opportunity. However, it took Manchester City just 35 seconds to break Chelsea’s defence in the second half after Andreas Christensen’s mistake lead to David Silva gaining possession who crossed the ball to an unmarked Bernardo Silva who put the ball in the net at the back post. Chelsea kept the same game plan after conceding the goal and refused to go forwards and maintained their defeatist attitude. The game ended only 1-0 to Manchester City today surprisingly considering the way we played. I think that Chelsea showed Man City too much respect and had a negative attitude before the game even kicked off. The players were a disgrace today as they weren’t even trying win the ball back once they went a goal down. Man United vs Chelsea 2-1. A disappointing performance from the blues despite an electrifying start to the game. Chelsea lost steam as the game progressed yesterday and showed a weak mentality to let Manchester United back into the game when we were controlling it. The blues looked exhilarating as soon as the game kicked off and controlled the play well. Alvaro Morata had an attempt repel off crossbar in the 4th minute after some mesmerising play from Chelsea during the build up. The blues managed to take the lead in the 32nd minute as Eden Hazard found Willian with a brilliantly weighted through ball, who hammered the ball past De Gea at his near post. The lead didn’t last for long though as Manchester untied equalised in the 39th minute after Romelu Lukaku slotted the ball into the net from inside the box after he was found by Alexis Sanchez. Man United started to control the game after this and Chelsea looked unimaginative going forwards. Chelsea went behind after substitute Jesse Lingard headed Romelu Lukaku’s cross into the net and the game ended 2-1. It was a shame to see a such a transformation in the way we played early on to the style that we finished the game. I think fatigue could have played a part in the game as going forwards their didn’t seem to be much energy during the second half which was down to playing two very demanding games this week. We have now dropped out of the top four and are playing catch up on retaining our champions league place. Chelsea vs Barcelona 1-1. The blues put in a strong performance against one of Europe’s best teams tonight but unfortunately only came away with a draw despite taking the lead. Barcelona had a lot more possession than we did but Chelsea created more chances to score and looked dangerous when counter attacking. Chelsea hit the post twice through two Willian strikes from outside the box before scoring through the Brazilian in the 62nd minute after Hazard found Willian unmarked on the edge of the box with just enough room to drill the ball along the floor into the back of the net. Barcelona equalised however in the 75th minute as Andreas Christensen’s astray pass latched onto Iniesta who cut the ball back for Lionel Messi who comfortably passed the ball in from 15 yards out. The game ended 1-1 which isn’t a bad result for the blues considering we have drawn arguably the hardest team in the competition. Chelsea now have to score on our visit to the Nou Camp if we want any chance of progressing into the next round as Barcelona have an away goal to their advantage. We have beaten Barcelona many times before and if we play the way we did tonight then we can come away with the result. Chelsea vs Hull 4-0. A stomping performance from the blues solidifies our next step into the final eight in the FA Cup. Conte fielded a rested side today, due to our champions league game against Barcelona this week, as we saw the likes of Willy Caballero, Ethan Ampadu and Emerson start today. Chelsea took the lead after two minutes as Willian’s trickery outside the box opened up space for the Brazilian to curl one into the side of the net for the advantage. Chelsea doubled their lead in the 27th minute as Cesc Fabregas played a beautifully weighted pass into Pedro who slotted the ball into the net comfortably. Willian added to his personally tally in the 32nd minute as his drilled shot from outside the box trickled past David Marshall in net for his second and Chelsea’s third of the night. The blues made it four goals to the good before half time as Olivier Giroud scored his first goal in Chelsea colours after tapping in a cross from Emerson on his debut. Chelsea seemed to hold off for the rest of the match after comfortably leading almost imminently from kickoff, however Willy Caballero made a superb save from David Meyler after Chelsea gave away a penalty during the second half. The blues are through to the 6th round of the FA cup and look on much better form after thumping Hull but face a much more devastating opponent in the likes of Barcelona next. Are Chelsea already regretting letting Michy Batshuayi go out on loan for the rest of the season? The Belgian has been sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund for the remaining games of the season after Batshuayi struggled for game time and was out of favour with Antonio Conte. Batshuayi has already scored five goals and got one assist in his first three games with his new club and has really found his feet in the Bundesliga. Chelsea have clearly been struggling for goals coming from forwards in 2018 as Morata has been injured and Giroud has just been thrown into the squad. I said as soon as Batshuayi was sent on loan that we will miss him as he is a very talented player but just lacks confidence. Unfortunately, he has joined the likes of Andre Shürrlle at Dortmund who will have a very clear and strong view on how important game time is at Chelsea and will probably influence Batshuayi to go to a club where he will start every game. The only positive I can see that will come out of this move is that Batshuayi is getting more experience as he is still a young player and his confidence looks to have shot up. He really is proving why Chelsea shouldn’t have let him go. Chelsea vs West Brom 3-0. A relieving result sees Chelsea move back into the top four and answer some questions ahead of Antonio Conte’s future. Today was a vital game which has lifted some pressure off Conte after our recent run of form. After a nervous start, Chelsea took the lead in the 25th minute after some great link up between Hazard and Giroud which saw the Belgian play a swift one-two with his new strike partner and then drill the ball across the face of Ben Foster for the opener. Chelsea made it two in the 63rd minute as a deflection from a West Brom defender fell to Victor Moses who attempted to pass to Hazard only for the ball to be returned to him to tap the ball into the back of the net. Eden Hazard lit up the stadium for his second goal as in the 71st minute the Belgian played another incisive one-two with his striker, Alvaro Morata, and then hammered the ball from range past Foster who was unmoved from his spot. An electrifying performance from Chelsea tonight, Hazard especially, which saw the game flow more than in previous matches as we had a focal point in Giroud up front which helped us find a target to aim for and then play off. Hopefully this form can continue as our coming run of games is very tough. Watford vs Chelsea 4-1. Absolutely disgraceful. The blues showcase a woeful performance which could be Antonio Conte’s last game as manager. Chelsea’s first problem came when Tiemoué Bakayoko, who looked unable to do anything positive, carelessly got himself sent off for a second yellow card in the 30th minute, just five minutes after picking up his first booking. In the 42nd, Watford’s continuous pressure pierced Chelsea’s defence as Deulofeu was tripped by Thibaut Courtois and awarded a penalty to which Troy Deeney scored. Despite playing horrendously throughout the match, Chelsea equalised through a moment of magic from Eden Hazard whose long range effort rippled the net, giving hope back to blues. This was overruled by Watford just two minutes later as Janmaat was allowed to walk through the Chelsea defence and slot the ball past Courtois almost effortlessly to give Watford back what they deserved. Gerard Deulofeu gave Watford their third goal four minutes later after his strike took a deflection off Gary Cahill and found itself in the back of the net. Chelsea embarrassed themselves further as Watford found a fourth as Roberto Pereyra’s shot whistled past Courtois into the side netting. I’m speechless with the performance that I just watched and something needs to change imminently. I hate to say it, but, I think Antonio Conte will be sacked by tomorrow morning. The players should be ashamed after putting in a performance like that. Fact: Watford had 21 shots to Chelsea’s 7 during the game. Chelsea have been busy during the January transfer window and have spent a total of £57 million on three new additions to the club as well as loaning out eight players. The blues have had a troublesome January after winning just three of a possible nine games during the month, so transfers clearly needed to be made to improve the squad. However, I feel that Chelsea have additionally had a very poor transfer window as we haven’t brought in anyone who will improve our starting eleven and have also shifted some young talents out on loan who were more than capable of breaking into the first team. I can only visualise that Chelsea are either waiting for the summer to address the problems inside the squad or Antonio Conte may be getting the sack at the end of this season and they will let the new manager buy the appropriate players when he arrives; hopefully that isn’t the case. Chelsea vs Bournemouth 0-3. Speechless. Chelsea crumble defensively in the second half and suffer an embarrassing defeat to the visitors Bournemouth. The blues started the first half well and created some huge chances but struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. Bournemouth pinned Chelsea back in the second half as, despite resisting the chances that we created in the first half, the Cherries got one of their own as Calum Wilson latched on to a through ball from Jordan Ibe and finished past Courtois. It got even worse for Chelsea as Bournemouth managed to double their lead after some poor defending from Chelsea left Stanislas with a golden opportunity to knock the ball past Courtois for their second. With the game already looking to be concluded for Chelsea, Bournemouth picked up even more momentum and embarrassed the blues by scoring their third just three minutes later as ex-Chelsea player Nathan Ake found himself in more than enough space, again due to the shameful defending from Chelsea, to tap the ball into the net. The game finished 0-3 resulting in Chelsea subsequently falling into fourth place behind Liverpool. The boys should be ashamed with how they defended and going forwards we clearly lacked a prominent striker. The cracks are still showing for the blues at the moment and this looks to be weakening Antonio Conte who is under a huge amount of pressure. Done deal. Michy Batshuayi has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season. Batshuayi has struggled for consistency this season however has scored 12 goals in a range of competitions despite playing second fiddle to Alvaro Morata. I’m devastated with this decision by the club as Batshuayi is a lethal finisher and is great player to come off the bench in times of need as we have previously seen. Chelsea have spent £17.5 million on the signing of Olivier Giroud who will take Batshuayi’s position as our second choice striker and is of the same quality. This just shows that the club are just spending their money unnecessarily which is very worrying. Done deal. Chelsea have signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal for a fee of £17.5 million. The Frenchman has signed an 18 month contract and will wear the number 18 shirt. Personally I’m disappointed with the business of this transfer as although Giroud has scored 50 premier league goals, I can’t see him getting into the first team and he just looks like a quick fix problem to our lack of goals recently. Chelsea don’t really have anything to salvage this season as we clearly aren’t going to win the league, we are out of the Carabao cup, we have drawn Barcelona in the next round of the champions league and don’t look like we are going to win the FA Cup either. I’m sure Chelsea will sign some quality players this summer, especially after the World Cup, so it just seems like a waste of cash in my opinion.
