Leicester vs Chelsea 1-2. Chelsea surpass Leicester in extra time to progress into the semi-finals of the FA Cup where we will face Southampton at Wembley. The blues played really confidently today and controlled the pace of the game and looked comfortable going into extra time. Chelsea started the game well and played on the counter attack to get their opening goal as in the 42nd minute Willian produced a surging run out of danger from his own half and then freed Alvaro Morata with an exquisite through ball for the Spaniard to compose himself and knock the ball over Kasper Schmeichel. It was refreshing to see Morata on the score sheet today with his eleven match goal drought being crushed; this should give Morata more confidence which looks to have grown vastly today. In the 76th minute, the blues conceded as Leicester’s luck was in as Jamie Vardy knocked in their fourth attempt at goal after the ball kept falling to Leicester players as the ball looked destined to reach the back of the net. The game went to extra time where Chelsea looked much stronger as their quality shone through in the fatigue. Substitute Pedro found the winning goal in the 105th minute as he headed the ball over Schmeichel after latching onto Kante’s lofted cross. Chelsea are now through to the semi final in which we have drawn Southampton which is looking to be played on the 21st of April. This is our last chance to win a trophy this season so this semi final is a must win game for the blues. Will Chelsea turnover Southampton in the Semi-final of the FA Cup?

Barcelona vs Chelsea 3-0. Chelsea are out of the Champions League after losing 4-1 on aggregate to Barcelona. Chelsea played well tonight and looked dangerous going forwards but it was our simple errors that cost us heavily over the two legs. Chelsea went behind just three minutes into the game after Lionel Messi was able to squeeze the ball through the legs of Thibaut Courtois from an acute angle, which the Belgian should have done better with. Chelsea found themselves two behind after 20 minutes, as a sloppy pass from Cesc Fabregas gave the ball to the dangerous Messi who managed to provide Ousmane Dembele with the opportunity to strike the ball past Courtois. Lionel Messi added to his personal tally as in the 63rd minute he blitzed past our defence and knocked the ball through Courtois’ legs for the second time this evening. The blues were denied by the woodwork twice again tonight and created many chances going forwards but our mistakes that we made to give Barcelona their goals across both ties have proved fatal. It was always going to be a difficult tie for Chelsea but I think that we played well during both games and can take positives away from this and can now focus on the league in what has proven to be a poor season overall. Did Chelsea do themselves justice tonight?

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace 2-1. Chelsea take all three points today despite a late scare as Crystal Palace managed to provide a tense ending to the game after reducing our lead to one goal in the dying minutes. Chelsea opened the scoring in the 25th minute as Willian’s long range effort took a slight deflection and found the net. Chelsea went two goals to the good after Zappacosta’s shot hit Martin Kelly, as he was attempting to stop the ball crossing the line, and was put into his own net. Chelsea looked to have the game sewn up after many clear opportunities arose for the blues however Crystal Palace hit back as Van Aanholt knocked the ball underneath Courtois to produce a nervy ending to the game. Chelsea played very well today and created a handful of chances however weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. We have now made up some ground behind Liverpool and are only four points away from them so we still have it all to play for this season. Will Chelsea manage to finish in the top four this season?

Manchester City vs Chelsea 1-0. A shameful performance from Chelsea today as the blues were completely disgraceful in their intent to attack Man City. Today was one of the worst performances I have seen the blues play; we played negatively from the moment the game began and continued to play that way whilst we were losing. The players should be ashamed of the way their played today and need to take responsibility from this defeat as the pressing today was very lacklustre and most of them looked defeated before the game begun. Chelsea somehow managed to keep a clean sheet for the first half of the game despite looking unable to maintain the ball and passing it backwards at every opportunity. However, it took Manchester City just 35 seconds to break Chelsea’s defence in the second half after Andreas Christensen’s mistake lead to David Silva gaining possession who crossed the ball to an unmarked Bernardo Silva who put the ball in the net at the back post. Chelsea kept the same game plan after conceding the goal and refused to go forwards and maintained their defeatist attitude. The game ended only 1-0 to Manchester City today surprisingly considering the way we played. I think that Chelsea showed Man City too much respect and had a negative attitude before the game even kicked off. The players were a disgrace today as they weren’t even trying win the ball back once they went a goal down. What were your thoughts after watching today’s game?

Man United vs Chelsea 2-1. A disappointing performance from the blues despite an electrifying start to the game. Chelsea lost steam as the game progressed yesterday and showed a weak mentality to let Manchester United back into the game when we were controlling it. The blues looked exhilarating as soon as the game kicked off and controlled the play well. Alvaro Morata had an attempt repel off crossbar in the 4th minute after some mesmerising play from Chelsea during the build up. The blues managed to take the lead in the 32nd minute as Eden Hazard found Willian with a brilliantly weighted through ball, who hammered the ball past De Gea at his near post. The lead didn’t last for long though as Manchester untied equalised in the 39th minute after Romelu Lukaku slotted the ball into the net from inside the box after he was found by Alexis Sanchez. Man United started to control the game after this and Chelsea looked unimaginative going forwards. Chelsea went behind after substitute Jesse Lingard headed Romelu Lukaku’s cross into the net and the game ended 2-1. It was a shame to see a such a transformation in the way we played early on to the style that we finished the game. I think fatigue could have played a part in the game as going forwards their didn’t seem to be much energy during the second half which was down to playing two very demanding games this week. We have now dropped out of the top four and are playing catch up on retaining our champions league place. Will Chelsea finish in the top four this season?

Chelsea vs Barcelona 1-1. The blues put in a strong performance against one of Europe’s best teams tonight but unfortunately only came away with a draw despite taking the lead. Barcelona had a lot more possession than we did but Chelsea created more chances to score and looked dangerous when counter attacking. Chelsea hit the post twice through two Willian strikes from outside the box before scoring through the Brazilian in the 62nd minute after Hazard found Willian unmarked on the edge of the box with just enough room to drill the ball along the floor into the back of the net. Barcelona equalised however in the 75th minute as Andreas Christensen’s astray pass latched onto Iniesta who cut the ball back for Lionel Messi who comfortably passed the ball in from 15 yards out. The game ended 1-1 which isn’t a bad result for the blues considering we have drawn arguably the hardest team in the competition. Chelsea now have to score on our visit to the Nou Camp if we want any chance of progressing into the next round as Barcelona have an away goal to their advantage. We have beaten Barcelona many times before and if we play the way we did tonight then we can come away with the result. Was this a good result for the blues?

Chelsea vs Hull 4-0. A stomping performance from the blues solidifies our next step into the final eight in the FA Cup. Conte fielded a rested side today, due to our champions league game against Barcelona this week, as we saw the likes of Willy Caballero, Ethan Ampadu and Emerson start today. Chelsea took the lead after two minutes as Willian’s trickery outside the box opened up space for the Brazilian to curl one into the side of the net for the advantage. Chelsea doubled their lead in the 27th minute as Cesc Fabregas played a beautifully weighted pass into Pedro who slotted the ball into the net comfortably. Willian added to his personally tally in the 32nd minute as his drilled shot from outside the box trickled past David Marshall in net for his second and Chelsea’s third of the night. The blues made it four goals to the good before half time as Olivier Giroud scored his first goal in Chelsea colours after tapping in a cross from Emerson on his debut. Chelsea seemed to hold off for the rest of the match after comfortably leading almost imminently from kickoff, however Willy Caballero made a superb save from David Meyler after Chelsea gave away a penalty during the second half. The blues are through to the 6th round of the FA cup and look on much better form after thumping Hull but face a much more devastating opponent in the likes of Barcelona next. Are you confident for our game against Barcelona on Tuesday?
Chelsea vs West Brom 3-0. A relieving result sees Chelsea move back into the top four and answer some questions ahead of Antonio Conte’s future. Today was a vital game which has lifted some pressure off Conte after our recent run of form. After a nervous start, Chelsea took the lead in the 25th minute after some great link up between Hazard and Giroud which saw the Belgian play a swift one-two with his new strike partner and then drill the ball across the face of Ben Foster for the opener. Chelsea made it two in the 63rd minute as a deflection from a West Brom defender fell to Victor Moses who attempted to pass to Hazard only for the ball to be returned to him to tap the ball into the back of the net. Eden Hazard lit up the stadium for his second goal as in the 71st minute the Belgian played another incisive one-two with his striker, Alvaro Morata, and then hammered the ball from range past Foster who was unmoved from his spot. An electrifying performance from Chelsea tonight, Hazard especially, which saw the game flow more than in previous matches as we had a focal point in Giroud up front which helped us find a target to aim for and then play off. Hopefully this form can continue as our coming run of games is very tough. What was the main difference in terms of style of play to our last two disappointing performances?

Watford vs Chelsea 4-1. Absolutely disgraceful. The blues showcase a woeful performance which could be Antonio Conte’s last game as manager. Chelsea’s first problem came when Tiemoué Bakayoko, who looked unable to do anything positive, carelessly got himself sent off for a second yellow card in the 30th minute, just five minutes after picking up his first booking. In the 42nd, Watford’s continuous pressure pierced Chelsea’s defence as Deulofeu was tripped by Thibaut Courtois and awarded a penalty to which Troy Deeney scored. Despite playing horrendously throughout the match, Chelsea equalised through a moment of magic from Eden Hazard whose long range effort rippled the net, giving hope back to blues. This was overruled by Watford just two minutes later as Janmaat was allowed to walk through the Chelsea defence and slot the ball past Courtois almost effortlessly to give Watford back what they deserved. Gerard Deulofeu gave Watford their third goal four minutes later after his strike took a deflection off Gary Cahill and found itself in the back of the net. Chelsea embarrassed themselves further as Watford found a fourth as Roberto Pereyra’s shot whistled past Courtois into the side netting. I’m speechless with the performance that I just watched and something needs to change imminently. I hate to say it, but, I think Antonio Conte will be sacked by tomorrow morning. The players should be ashamed after putting in a performance like that.
Fact: Watford had 21 shots to Chelsea’s 7 during the game.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth 0-3. Speechless. Chelsea crumble defensively in the second half and suffer an embarrassing defeat to the visitors Bournemouth. The blues started the first half well and created some huge chances but struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. Bournemouth pinned Chelsea back in the second half as, despite resisting the chances that we created in the first half, the Cherries got one of their own as Calum Wilson latched on to a through ball from Jordan Ibe and finished past Courtois. It got even worse for Chelsea as Bournemouth managed to double their lead after some poor defending from Chelsea left Stanislas with a golden opportunity to knock the ball past Courtois for their second. With the game already looking to be concluded for Chelsea, Bournemouth picked up even more momentum and embarrassed the blues by scoring their third just three minutes later as ex-Chelsea player Nathan Ake found himself in more than enough space, again due to the shameful defending from Chelsea, to tap the ball into the net. The game finished 0-3 resulting in Chelsea subsequently falling into fourth place behind Liverpool. The boys should be ashamed with how they defended and going forwards we clearly lacked a prominent striker. The cracks are still showing for the blues at the moment and this looks to be weakening Antonio Conte who is under a huge amount of pressure. What do Chelsea need to do to fix this crisis?
Chelsea vs Newcastle 3-0. The blues surpassed Newcastle and secured their place in the fifth round of the Fa Cup today. Chelsea did themselves justice today and played very stylishly at times to surmount Newcastle. Michy Batshuayi, a man in confusion at the moment, scored Chelsea’s first in the 31st minute after Marcos Alonso cut the ball back to the Belgian inside the box for a simple finish. This seemed to lift Batshuayi’s confidence massively as the forward looked much more composed on the ball and created some fabulous chances afterwards. Batshuayi got himself on the scoresheet for a second time, as he latched onto a great through ball from Eden Hazard and drilled the ball into Jamaal Lascelles which deflected into the net. Chelsea managed to score a third to confirm the victory by the 72nd minute as Marcos Alonso’s impeccable free kick sunk Newcastle. A very important performance today which will hopefully lift Chelsea again and the confidence of some of our players. Great to see Batshuayi on the scoresheet today, especially after playing so well, as he is a man in need of some assurance. Does Michy Batshuayi deserve to start our next game against Bournemouth following this form?
Arsenal vs Chelsea 2-1. Chelsea crash out of the Carabao cup at the last hurdle in reaching the final. Chelsea were awful after we scored our first goal and we go out deservedly. Chelsea took the advantage early on as Pedro threaded a brilliant through into Eden Hazard who comfortably finished past Ospina. Chelsea were playing some great football but then stopped and let Arsenal come back into the game and subsequently gifted them a goal in the 12th minute as Nacho Montreal’s header took a double deflection and repelled off Rüdiger’s head and past Caballero in goal. Arsenal gained the lead in the 60th minute as Lacazette’s deflected cross fell to Granit Xhaka who knocked the ball inti the back of the net. The game ended 2-1 to Arsenal who now progress into the final of the competition. It feels devastating to go out in such a fashion but it was comepltely down to us today. As soon as the game begun Chelsea looked much sharper than Arsenal and got the deserved goal but we let Arsenal back into the game straight away. Apart from Eden Hazard, not a single player should be proud of their performance; we had no creativity going forwards and our defending was a shambles. Very disappointed with the performance but we must move forwards and learn from this. What was the reason Chelsea collapsed straight after scoring?
Brighton vs Chelsea 0-4. A refreshing performance today sees Chelsea pick up their first win in the new year and in stylish fashion. Chelsea played much more fluently going forwards today which was controlled by Hazard and Willian who were both excellent. Chelsea had the perfect start to the game as we took the lead inside three minutes as Victor Moses’ deflected cross fell to Eden Hazard who struck the ball into the net from inside the box. The blues found themselves two goals ahead just six minutes in as we produced a spectacular team goal - Willian fed the ball to Eden Hazard who flicked the ball to Michy Batshuayi who then flicked the ball back to Willian who thumped the ball from outside of the box and into the net. Chelsea then seemed to sit back for the majority of the remaining first half which invited pressure from Brighton who came close to scoring themselves. Willy Caballero pulled off some brilliant saves but also found difficulty in catching the ball which gave opportunities to Brighton. Chelsea managed to kill the game off in the 77th minute as Eden Hazard made a great run in behind and then rounded it off with a tidy finished in which he directed the ball into the bottom left corner from outside of the box. In the 89th minute Chelsea managed to flatter the scoreline by adding a fourth as substitute Charly Musonda’s excellent long ball met Victor Moses who knocked the ball calmly past Matthew Ryan. It was great to see that we are on track again and hopefully this will give us the confidence that we needed for moving forwards. The scoreline didn’t really reflect the game overall today though as Brighton did create chances and played well at times but I’m glad that Chelsea were ruthless and more clinical in front of goal. The football that we played going forwards was exquisite and that was empathised by the second goal that we scored today which should give us our confidence back. Was this the result that we needed to kick-start our season again?

Chelsea vs Norwich 1-1 (5-3 penalties). The blues made difficult work of Norwich in their second tie in the Fa cup however progress to the fourth round in which we will face Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on the 28th January. Chelsea did not play well for the majority of the game yesterday and the luck didn’t seem to be on our side. Chelsea only managed to break the deadlock 55 minutes into the game after Michy Batshuayi found the net after some tricky work down the left hand side from Kennedy set up the Belgian to tap in his cross. In the 92nd minute Willian was clearly tripped inside the penalty area but the referee booked Willian for simulation and refused to even look at the VAR for help. A clear wrong decision by the referee for not the first time today. Chelsea still couldn’t find a second to kill the game off and in the 94th minute were inevitably punished as Jamal Lewis’ superb header looped into the Chelsea net for the last kick of the 90 minutes. With the pressure on Chelsea to score in extra time, things got heated and Pedro received his second yellow card of the game in the 117th minute. His first booking was for simulation, and deservedly so, and the second for a foul that stopped a Norwich counter attack. Things got embarrassing for Chelsea although as they were reduced to nine men after Alvaro Morata was sent off for two bookable offences. Morata was clearly pulled inside the penalty area however the referee booked him for simulation aswell. Morata was then booked for dissent after arguing with the referee. The game went to penalties and luckily for Chelsea Willy Caballero saved Nelson Oliveira’s penalty. The blues managed to score all of there penalties as Willian, Luiz, Azpilicueta, Kante and Hazard all buried there penalties. It was justice as the referee was very poor and looked to be searching for any reason to help the opposition. Very disappointing performance though as we couldn’t kill the game off earlier on. The boys must improve as our poor form is continuing.
Norwich vs Chelsea 0-0. One of the worst performances of the season. Hardly any chances created against the championship side which sees Chelsea have to play a second leg on January the 16th if we are to progress in the competition. Antonio Conte made nine changes to his starting eleven today but it seemed to backfire as the second set couldn’t surpass Norwich who defended well today. The blues failed to produce a single shot on target in the first half and found difficulty in executing their final pass. With 15 minutes to go, Antonio Conte decided to replace Michy Batshuayi, who had been very poor today, with Alvaro Morata but even he couldn’t find a way past the Norwich defence meaning the game ended goalless. This is very frustrating as we have put extra pressure on ourselves to win in the next leg and also have made our run of fixtures even more congested as we now have another game added to our fixture list. Bakayoko was yet again very poor today and does not deserve a spot in the team at all and I was also very disappointed with Michy Batshuayi’s finishing today. Willian was the only player who was able to create chances today but even he couldn’t break the deadlock. At least we are still in the competition which is important however our fixture list is getting very chaotic as the blues are still left in three other competitions and an extra needless game isn’t going to help that. Was this the worst performance we have seen this season?
Chelsea vs Stoke 5-0. The boys produced a stellar performance today and shift into second place before the end of the year. The blues knocked five past a struggling Stoke side and it seemed clear from early on who would snatch the three points as Chelsea took the lead after just three minutes with Antonio Rüdiger nodding the ball into the net after latching on to Willian's free kick. Chelsea then doubled their lead within nine minutes as Danny Drinkwater's sublime strike flew into the top corner of the goal from distance. Pedro made it three inside 23 minutes after his strike from outside the box was drilled past Jack Butland and into the bottom corner, punishing Stoke. Chelsea then took until the 73rd to add to their tally as Willian was fouled inside the box and was gifted a penalty. The Brazilian stepped up to take it himself and leathered the ball to the right of Jack Butland who dived the opposite way. The blues settled the score at five as in the 88th minute Davide Zappacosta wanted in on the action and cut in on the inside and shot from outside the box to give Chelsea their fifth and final goal. A five star performance from Chelsea despite playing without Hazard, Fabregas and Christensen and a performance that compliments our calendar year; a great way to end such a successful year.
Huddersfield vs Chelsea 1-3. A contrasting performance to last weekend from Chelsea tonight against Huddersfield which sees the blues make up some ground on the leaders. Chelsea broke the deadlock today as Willian's threaded through ball freed a surging Bakayoko who chipped the goalkeeper and gave Chelsea the lead. Two minutes before half time, Willian got himself on the scoresheet after unusually scoring a header after meeting Marcos Alonso's cross. Willian again provided the assist for Pedro's goal as in the 50th minute as the Spaniard planted the ball perfectly into the goal as Willian's flick fell to him. Unfortunately, Huddersfield clawed a goal back in the 92nd minute as Laurent Depoitre headed the ball past Courtois for their only goal of the game which flattered the home side given Chelsea dominated them today. It was a shame that we let in a goal at the end to lose our clean sheet however the important thing was that we played very well and looked a much better team to last week with more energy both going forwards and defending. Does Willian deserve a place in the starting eleven?
Chelsea vs Newcastle 3-1. Eden Hazard's sensational performance helps save Chelsea from dropped points today. Newcastle shocked the blues today by taking an early lead in the 12th minute after Marcos Alonso's poor touch inside our box lead to Dwight Gayle being gifted an open net opportunity. This rattled Chelsea and the blues instantly turned on the attacking play. It wasn't long before Eden Hazard had a say in the scoreline as Morata forced a strong save from Darlow which fell to the Belgian who smashed the ball into the ground and into the back of the net. Alvaro Morata gave Chelsea the lead in the 33rd minute as Victor Moses' darting cross met the head of the Spaniard who planted the ball into the goal. In the 74th minute, Chelsea were given the opportunity to double their lead from the penalty spot after Victor Moses was fouled by Matt Ritchie inside the box. Eden Hazard stepped up to take it and effortlessly chipped the keeper for his second and the Chelsea victory. This man is world class and today his class was personified. It was a joy to watch and he seems content at Stamford Bridge, which his play style is showing at the moment. We are keeping up the persistence on Manchester City and must just keep going and get into our stride. Come on Chelsea!

Chelsea vs Swansea 1-0. Chelsea gather the three points after marginally surpassing Swansea despite their heaps of chances and possession. The blues found it difficult to break down Swansea who defended well today. Our first major concern came when Antonio Conte, of all people, was sent off and removed from the touch line after his angered remarks towards the referee. This was definitely not a good sign for Chelsea who looked as if they needed some inspiration today after struggling to pierce the Swansea defence. In the 55th minute, Chelsea got what they had deserved and managed to score after N'golo Kante's deflected shot fell into the path of Antonio Rüdiger who planted a rocket of a header into the back of the net for his first Premier league goal. Chelsea held their lead until full time and picked up the vital three points today as we aim to catch up the ground on the two Manchester clubs. It was great to see Victor Moses make a first appearance since sustaining his injury last month as he came on in the final 15 minutes of the game. Chelsea were efficient today as, although we didn't play to the best of our ability, we secured the win. Fact: Chelsea managed to rack up a total of 21 shots today compared to Swansea's two.
Liverpool vs Chelsea 1-1. A late Willian strike salvages a deserved point for the blues at Anfield today. I wasn't confident going into this game today, especially after our long, tiring trip home from Azerbaijan during the week but today Chelsea got what they deserved at a difficult place to play. Both teams put pressure on in the first half and it took until the 65th minute for the deadlock to be broken. Bakayoko's poor control inside our box gave ex-Chelsea player Mohamed Salah the opportunity to prove himself against his old club, which he took. It seemed almost inevitable for him to score today... Antonio Conte needed a goal to claw back a point and in the 83rd minute he summoned Cesc Fabregas and Willian from the bench. Just two minutes later the two of them combined and Willian lofted a cross into the Liverpool box which looped over Simon Mignolet's head and into the goal. The game ended 1-1 which was a fair result for both teams. We played some nice football today and have got an important result away at Anfield which is definitely not an easy place to come. We must push on now and not let the compact fixture list weigh us down. Is a draw a good result for Chelsea at this moment?

Qarabag vs Chelsea 0-4. Chelsea comfortably beat Qarabag tonight and have qualified for the Champions league round of 16 with a game in hand. Chelsea played very well today and have got the result we needed to progress. The blues were given a penalty kick in the 19th minute after Rasad Sadiqov brought Willian down inside the box after the Brazilian was through on goal. He was red carded for his actions which instantly gave Chelsea the advantage that would be too much for Qarabag to contain. Eden Hazard then stepped up to take the spot kick and sent the keeper the wrong way, giving Chelsea their lead. Willian then got a goal for himself in the 36th minute as Hazard and the Brazilian linked up inside the box to gift Willian his one on one opportunity with the goalkeeper, which he took. Willian was then at the heart of the third goal as he was fouled inside the box yet again and was awarded another penalty after his shirt was pulled by Maksim Medvedev. Cesc Fabregas was trusted to take the penalty this time and he scored it after drilling the ball into the bottom corner. Chelsea then solidified their dominance tonight as Willian got his second and Chelsea's fourth after his long range shot flew past the keeper and thumped the back of the net. Thankfully Chelsea have qualified for the next round with a game to spare but the top of the group still remains unknown so Chelsea still have an important game left in the group as it will determine which team we get in the next round. The boys will need to recover quickly though after their long flight home from Azerbaijan to play Liverpool on Saturday. Will Chelsea top their Champions league group?

West Brom vs Chelsea 0-4. A superb team performance thrashed a struggling West Brom side as we climb into third place. Chelsea were very impressive today despite missing David Luiz who was again left out of the starting lineup for 'tactical reasons'. Chelsea took the lead in the 17th minute today after Eden Hazard fired a thunderous strike at Ben Foster who was unable to contain it and parried the ball into the path of Alvaro Morata who comfortably finished into an open net. Just six minutes later, Hazard got himself on the scoresheet after Alvaro Morata's exquisite back heel through ball gave the Belgian his opportunity which he took as he skipped around the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into an open net. Chelsea then solidified their lead as Marcos Alonso was found unmarked from a Cesc Fabregas free kick and placed the ball into the net for Chelsea's third. In the 62nd minute, Eden Hazard was able to double his tally and put Chelsea four goals to the good as his solo effort seemed unstoppable as he cut inside and belted the ball past Foster for the second time today. Chelsea flattened West Brom today which was relieving to see as this will give the boys heaps of confidence in catching the leaders. Eden Hazard seems back to his best which showed today after his refreshing performance. Can Chelsea make up the ground on Manchester City?

Over the course of this International break Ruben Loftus-Cheek has really impressed for his national team England and is justifying why he should be brought back from his loan deal at Crystal Palace. Loftus-Cheek was a surprise selection ahead of England's November friendly matches but the midfielder has proved to be arguably England's best player in their two games against Germany and Brazil. He looked comfortable on the ball and was definitely a physical presence in the midfield despite his age and inexperience. I couldn't understand why Chelsea sent this man on loan in the first place this season as we have desperately been in need of more midfield options this season. I think that Chelsea need to bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek back to Stamford Bridge as soon as possible as he looks to have a point to prove and stood out in big games against two of the best national teams in the world which has shown great character and fortitude. Should Chelsea bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek back from loan early or is he still in need of more experience?

Are David Luiz's days numbered at Chelsea? Following Antonio Conte leaving the Brazilian out of our huge game at the weekend against Manchester United, Conte told the media in an interview after the game that David can either "get on with the others or sit in the stands". This was extremely worrying as David is such a huge part of the dressing room and one of our best defenders and this was how the Diego Costa situation started which subsequently saw Diego leave the club over the summer. Reports say that Conte left Luiz out of the squad on Sunday due to his poor performance against Roma in midweek and then his questioning of the manager's tactical decisions. It would be such a shame to see a feud in the club like this and I think that Luiz will be given a chance to redeem himself of whatever that he has done and I'm sure that he will grasp at it as his love for this club is as big as the fans'. Despite Luiz's absence from the game on Sunday, Andreas Christensen, his replacement for the day, played brilliantly and really proved that he deserves a place in the team which will make it hard for Conte to leave him out of the next one. We have over a week now for the situation to be resolved and this could be vital in Antonio Conte keeping control of his dressing room. Should Antonio Conte give Luiz another chance in the team again?

Chelsea vs Manchester United 1-0. A very important win for Chelsea and Antonio Conte and a really refreshing performance. The blues played as a team today and were much improved from our midweek game in Rome. Chelsea had many chances and arguably should have comfortably won today especially after Phil Jones scored an own goal which was wrongly disallowed after Morata apparently impeded him. Chelsea did manage to break the deadlock though as Morata got his goal in the 55th minute after he headed Azpilicueta's teasing cross into the back of the net as we have seen so many times already this season. The pressure grew towards the end as Manchester United threw all men forwards looking to snatch a result but Chelsea hung on to their lead and took the three points. We won the game in midfield today as Kante, Bakayoko and Fabregas all played brilliantly and controlled the tempo of the game to our advantage. For me, Cesc was definitely our best player today as his passing was faultless at times. Chelsea definitely deserved the victory today which was pleasing but we really should have been more clinical in front of goal. This should hopefully take a little bit of weight off the players going into the international break and I can only congratulate the players today after they did themselves justice by playing as a team. Who was your man of the match?
Roma vs Chelsea 3-0. A humiliating result which was justified by the performance. The defending tonight was woeful and Chelsea have now put themselves in a difficult position if we want to reach the next stage of the Champions league. The blues went behind after one minute played after our defence failed to deal with the long ball over the top from Roma which fell to El Shaarawy who smashed the ball into the net from distance. El Shaarawy then got his second as Rüdiger's mistake led to the Italian being given a one on one situation with Courtois and was able to comfortably score. The scoreline became embarrassing as Diego Perotti was given far too much time on the edge of our area and rifled the ball into net for Roma for the third time this evening. Chelsea are living dangerously in the Champions league and we will be lucky to get out the group. This sought of performance puts Antonio Conte's job on the line which is very daunting. Embarrassingly, I'm surprised Roma didn't score more of their chances... Will Chelsea make it out of their Champions league group?

Bournemouth vs Chelsea 0-1. A glamorous performance sees Chelsea pick up three points against a struggling Bournemouth and keep our fourth clean sheet of the season. Chelsea produced some brilliant football to watch at times during the first half but lacked the clinical edge in front of goal. Alvaro Morata put wide some very big chances and it looked like it was going to be a day where the ball just wouldn't reach the back of the net, however in the 51st minute Chelsea got their deserved lead as Eden Hazard drilled the ball past ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with his left foot after a mistake from Simon Francis occurred. The blues only managed to score one goal past Bournemouth today however played very well and looked a lot more comfortable at the back. Eden Hazard was absolutely superb today and was the difference between the two sides; he showed so much quality on and off the ball and was able to take the game by the scruff of the neck today. The only negative that we take from this game is that we were clearly not clinical enough in front of goal. Do Chelsea look back to their usual self after this comfortable victory today?
Chelsea vs Roma 3-3. A careless result sees Chelsea draw against Roma after being two goals ahead after 37 minutes. Chelsea were gifted the perfect start after eleven minutes of play as David Luiz struck a stunning strike from outside the area which flew into the net to give the blues the lead. The advantage was then doubled in the 37th minute as Eden Hazard was able to slot the ball past Alisson after he met a great cross from Alvaro Morata. Just three minutes later, Roma clawed a goal back after Kolarov made a piercing run past our defenders and finished the ball into the roof of the net. In the 57th minute David Luiz was dragged off the pitch, despite his superb performance, as he seemed to have suffered a calf injury during the game. Roma looked to capitalise on this as Edin Dzeko scored two goals in quick succession, his first being a wonderful volley in the 64th minute. He then linked up with previous goalscorer Alexander Kolarov to head the ball into the back of the Chelsea net from a free kick. Chelsea did manage to retain a point tonight as Eden Hazard was found unmarked in the penalty area and managed to head the ball into the net to equalise however there was no separation in tonight's game. Chelsea still lead the group comfortably on seven points however the boys are really turning the pressure on themselves as we have haven't won in our last three games. The defence is looking very weak and we have a mountain to climb if we want to achieve success in the Champions League and Premier league this season. There is needed improvement after today's throw away result. What do Chelsea need to do to stabilise their defensive system? #ktbffh#cfcnews#chelseanews#chelseaforthefans#chelsea#chelseafc#roma#hazard#edenhazard#davidluiz#luiz#dzeko#edindzeko#asroma#championsleague#premierleague#premierleaguechampions#groupstage#injury#rest#recovery

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea 2-1. A lacklustre performance today from the blues gave Crystal Palace their first goal and win of the season after Chelsea couldn't overturn the Eagles. The boys looked very tired today which should not have been the case after a lengthy International break having just passed. Chelsea didn't start the game well after they went a goal down to Palace as Yohan Cabaye's shot deflected off Cesar Azpilicueta and into the back of Courtois' net. Their lead didn't last long however, as six minutes later, Cesc Fabregas' cross was met by the head of Tiemoué Bakayoko who managed to head the ball down into the net to score his first premier league goal for Chelsea. Deep into stoppage time at the end of the first half, Wilfried Zaha managed to seep between Azpilicueta and Zapacosta to score a brilliant solo effort to retain Crystal Palace's lead. Chelsea pushed for a goal in the second half as Cesc Fabregas cracked a shot against the crossbar with a long shot, however it was not meant to be and Crystal Palace picked up their first victory of the campaign. Chelsea did not play well today and it was clear that we missed Kante and Mortata deeply. We must push forwards though and try to gain some momentum as Manchester City seem to be running away with title. What do you think went wrong today?
Chelsea vs Manchester City 0-1. A familiar face proved to be the difference between the two sides today as Kevin De Bruyne's strike sunk his old club Chelsea at Stamford bridge. Bizarrely, Victor Moses was dropped to the substitute bench today as Andreas Christensen made an appearance to replace the suspended David Luiz whilst Azpilicueta moved on to the right wing-back role. Chelsea didn't start particularly brightly today after conceding a lot of early pressure in the first half. This didn't get any better as in the 35th Alvaro Morata indicated to the bench to be substituted in the middle of the game after injuring his hamstring. The Spaniard was replaced by Willian and issued a big scare as our in-form striker looked to be in a bit of distress when leaving off the pitch. He deadlock was broken in the 67th minute as ex-Chelsea player Kevin De Bruyne struck a powerful shot from outside the box to give Manchester City the lead. Manchester City managed to hold on to their win a picked up an away three points today, moving them six points ahead of us at the top of the table. Chelsea were very poor today, especially once Morata came off- they looked as if they had nothing to aim for when he was replaced. Hopefully Morata recovers in time for our next game against after the international break as he started to hit some momentum in the Premier league recently. Overall, Chelsea just weren't good enough today and the scoreline could have easily been widened. We must pick ourselves up now and prepare well for the next game as if we want to retain our title we must work hard for it as Manchester City and Manchester United look hungrier than ever. Did Antonio Conte get the lineup right today?

What a comeback! Super sub Michy Batshuayi scored the winner in the 94th minute to snatch three points away at Atletico Madrid to send Chelsea to the top of the group. The blues started well and looked as if they could have had a few in the first half. Eden Hazard struck the post and Alvaro Morata had opportunities however it was Atletico who took the lead as David Luiz stupidly pulled Lucas down inside the area whilst defended a corner and the referee awarded a penalty and a yellow card to David Luiz. Antoine Griezmann stepped up to take it and converted, sending Courtois the wrong way. Chelsea got their equaliser though in the 59th minute through the in-from Alvaro Morata who headed Eden Hazard's cross past Oblak, scoring his seventh of the season. Antonio Conte seemed to make some tactical changes in the 82nd and 86th minute, bringing Hazard, Morata and Fabregas off for Willian, Batshuayi and Christensen as Chelsea looked to be going more defensive minded and happy to settle for a draw. However, in the 94th minute, substitute Michy Batshuayi was able to tap the ball into the net with the last kick of the game. Absolutely unbelievable scenes in Madrid tonight as Chelsea get the three points they deserved against one of the favourites to win the competition. This now puts us on top of the table with six points and proves that Chelsea are a serious competitor in this years competition. How far will Chelsea go in the Champions league this year?
Stoke vs Chelsea 0-4. A confident win from Chelsea and a star performance from our summer signing Alvaro Morata grabs three points against a difficult Stoke side and keeps the pressure on the two Manchester clubs. Chelsea opened their scoring almost immediately as Alvaro Morata latched on to a superb through ball from Azpilicueta and then calmly finished into the back of the net two minutes into the game. Pedro then made it two after Darren Fletcher gave the ball away to the Spaniard who then hammered the ball past Jack Butland to double the lead. In the 77th minute Morata grabbed his second of the game after a magnificent solo effort saw him run from the half way line, beat two players with pace and then slotted the ball past the keeper. The forward got the fans on their feet after that goal and is really showing us why he's one of the best in the business. Five minutes later Morata then sealed his hat-trick after he managed to knock the ball past the keeper after Azpilicueta's cross was met by the Spaniard. Morata picks up his first hat-trick in a Chelsea shirt alongside the match ball after a very strong performance today. He has now scored six goals in six games for Chelsea this season which is equal to Sergio Agüero and Romelu Lukaku at the top of the leaderboard. He is looking to be the top forward that we needed to replace Costa and he is doing it very well. How many goals will Alvaro Morata score this season?

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have finally reached an agreement and fee of £52 million regarding Diego Costa's transfer following the Spaniard's parting with the club. Atletico are still under a transfer ban however they are still able to make agreements with clubs over buying players but must wait until January to play the player. Costa fell out with manager Antonio Conte after Conte allegedly told the striker that he is not in his plans for the future and has spent the last two months in his house in Brazil. Chelsea have replaced Diego Costa with Alvaro Morata who has hit the ground running so far this season after scoring three times in five games but Diego Costa will be missed and his fiery character seems to be irreplaceable. Costa has scored 59 goals for Chelsea over his three year spell at the bridge after joining the club in 2014 and has won three trophies with the club after winning the Premier league twice and the League cup once. I will definitely miss Diego as I love his passion for this club but unfortunately when situations like these arise with the player and the manager, one of them must leave. Thank you for the memories Diego Costa. Are you happy with Chelsea's decision to let a top quality striker leave the club?

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest 5-1. A comfortable win sees Chelsea progress into the fourth round of the league cup in which we will face Everton at Stamford Bridge in the last 16. Chelsea played very well going forwards today, especially when Eden Hazard was involved who ran the show today. Chelsea went 1-0 up in the 13th minute as Rüdiger's deep cross was met by Kenedy who slotted the ball into the net. Chelsea then doubled their lead as Michy Batshuayi latched on to an intricate ball from Eden Hazard and then finished the ball past the keeper. 20 year old Charly Musonda scored on his debut tonight as the Belgian drilled the ball into the corner of the net to open his account for the blues. Batshuayi then scored his second of the game as Cesc Fabregas' beautiful lofted through ball was met by Eden Hazard who who dribbled directly to the goal however then unselfishly gifted the ball to Batshuayi to finish for his second. Batshuayi sealed his hat-trick four minutes from the end as he managed to net the rebound of Kenedy's strike which hit the bar. Chelsea unfortunately conceded a goal in the 91st minute, wiping away their clean sheet, as Darikwa put the hall past the helpless Caballero after a scramble for the ball fell to the Englishman in the box. Overall, we got the job done tonight in style and we have shown that we can play some deadly attacking football. We now progress into the last 16 of the cup hoping to continue our run in the competition. Who was your man of the match tonight?

Chelsea vs Arsenal 0-0. It was a frustrating game today but the blues pick up a point against our London rivals which could have easily ended as a loss. Antonio Conte chose not to start Eden Hazard today despite the Belgian making an appearance during the week in the Champions league. Chelsea started the game strongly and had put pressure on Arsenal from the kickoff but Chelsea's main chance came in the 21st minute as Pedro caught on to a Cesc Fabregas through ball who found himself one against one with goalkeeper however Petr Cech stood tall and saved. Arsenal then began to build chances themselves as Ramsey slipped through the Chelsea defence and hit the outside of the post with his shot on the 41st minute. In the 70th minute Eden Hazard was given the opportunity to break the deadlock after entering the field as as substitute for Willian and imminently changed the tempo of the game and Chelsea began to build on their chances. This was then to be cut short though as in the 87th minute David Luiz was shown the red card after his rash challenge on Sead Kolasinac, becoming the third Chelsea player to be sent off against Arsenal in our last three games, and forced Chelsea to defend for the remaining minutes. Chelsea managed to hold the scoreline and earn a point today and the game ended 0-0. In all honesty, it was a red card... Luiz's studs were showing and Kolasinac could have ended up with a much more painful injury. Although, I do think that Chelsea were treated very harshly over the duration of the game by referee Michael Oliver who was particularly unfair to Alvaro Morata who was being illegally pushed to ground all afternoon. Overall, it was not the result that I would have taken at the start of the day but I think that we could have easily lost this match as Arsenal issued a close shave a few times this afternoon. Was this a fair result today?
Chelsea vs Qarabag 6-0. A flawless victory today puts Chelsea top of the Champions league group after Atletico Madrid and Roma drew in their game. Chelsea rested a few players today in the likes of Morata, Moses and Luiz however a strong team was still selected despite the big London derby at the weekend. Chelsea started the game well and were 1-0 up after five minutes, as a short corner freed up space for Pedro on the edge of the box, who struck a powerful shot into the back of the net to start the scoring. Chelsea made it two after debutant Davide Zapacosta's spectacular effort from the touch line caught the goalkeeper off guard and looped into the net, being a contender for our goal of the season. Ten minutes into the second half Cesar Azpilicueta added to the scoreline to make it 3-0 as Fabregas' cross was met by the defender and directed into the goal. In the 71st minute, substitute Tiemoué Bakayoko made it four as he scored his first goal for the club after he was the first to react to a loose ball inside the opposition box. Michy Batshuayi finally got on the score sheet as Tiemoué Bakayoko won the ball back in midfield from an astray pass and fed Batshuayi who hit a nice strike into bottom corner form outside the box. Batshuayi then doubled his tally and made it 6-0 after Zapacosta's cross was met by the Belgian who knocked the ball into the net. A great scoreline for the blues and this should give us confidence going forwards in the Champions league and at the weekend when we play Arsenal. We mustn't get complacent though as the team that we played are not a very high standard team. We got the job done and won in style though which is all that matters and now must look forward to our game on Sunday. Leicester city vs Chelsea 1-2. A brilliant performance today sees Chelsea pick up the three points against a tough side and move to third place in the league table. The blues started the game well and created many chances but took until the 41st to break the deadlock. We saw a similar sight in Alvaro Morata connecting with his head to Azpilicueta's cross which saw the ball fly into the back net yet again this season. The blues then doubled their lead five minutes into the second half as ex-Leicester player N'golo Kante fired a shot from outside the box into the side of the net, past the formidable Schmeichel. Leicester were given a life-line in the 61st minute as Thibaut Courtois tripped Jamie Vardy inside the penalty area and a spot kick was awarded. The Englishman converted however it was not enough for Leicester to spark a comeback. 12 minutes before the end, Eden Hazard was given a run out and Cesc Fabregas made way for what looked to be a recovered Hazard. A very good performance from Chelsea today and we are now just one point behind the two leaders in the title race. Who was your man of the match today?
