That’s right. Still alive
The final cab has left the retrograde rank, with Chiron turning direct at the elusive tail end of Pisces. The choreography of this year was undeniably built to force us into an unending dance with our shadow. One that could not be sidestepped, denied at our peril. This is the biggest contributor to why we've endured a year full of tough to take. Our wounded healer has been retrograde since July.
In our chart and our lives, Chiron is our sore spot. The one we deny, the place we don't like to be touched, let alone poked or prodded. Its roots are held fast in our childhood and it weaves its tendrils through our lives, like a bite whose lingering poison flares periodically to remind us of our whole truth.
How we cast this shadow, and then too how we wrestle or wrangle or dance with it, is central to the evolutionary track of our lives. The door into the shadow is our trauma and our pain. The trick of the shadow is to twist mired in blame and victimhood, never taking the blindfold off to see that the wound is in fact ours, to hold and ultimately to heal.
There is a curious commonality to being human. Our wounds are all the same in the end. We hide from our shame, quake in the face of abandonment, sacrifice ourselves to the blame game, struggle to carve out self worth and personal security. We learn to live with our fear and accept our trauma as part of our life story. And only then may we begin to flex our healing muscles, also inherent and aching to be put to their best use.
Chiron's turn is at once a gentle poke and an underline. Cast your mind back to July and witness how the dance with your shadow has unfolded. Ignore the others, see only yourself and your dark cast as it stretches and shrinks in tandem.
In so doing you may feel plunged into a deep nostalgia, your soul's sacred calling for its full belonging in you. Today is ringed in melancholia. There is sadness and suffering weaved into this dance and too a golden light, revealed through our courage and grace.
Healing is ever an exercise in personal power. An art and a science that delivers us to the depths of what it is to be human. And in so doing, elevates us to our greatest heights.
Dance, my love.

How do we cultivate real compassion in a world that is emotionally dishonest, fueled by the shame of being human? This wound has been running amok through all of human civializaation. It is written into our Western creation myth...our fall from grace.
Subconsciously, much of spirituality becomes an exercise in seeking to escape being human rather than a refuge; solace for embracing our human condition and finding relief through compassion, wisdom and understanding within our hearts.
Compassion is to be aware of our own suffering and have the desire to alleviate it. It is to be with our woundedness and challenges with the eyes of our pain being worthy of our love and kind attention. It is to see our struggle as something worthy of loving ourselves through, holding ourselves with nobility and regard, harvesting the true power of compassion, which is a deep expression of love.
Our personality that forms out of defending our wounds, what many call our ego, has a lot of opinions about how things “should” be. When we think that there is a way that we “should” be, a way that relationships “should” be, a way we “should” feel, an experience we “should” be having, a place in life we “should” be rather than where we are or that others “should” be other than who they are, we are living inside a place of feeling shame for our very own humanity. It creates an inner war.
It doesn’t matter how many times I or anyone else tells you that there is nothing wrong with you if you think, deep down, that there is some part of you that should be different, that once x,y or z happens then you will be happy or that things must happen in life in order to reflect or prove your worthiness for love.
It doesn’t matter how much we intellectually understand the importance of compassion in healing the human condition if we drown our deep pain, spiritualize our addictions, or pathologize others for their pain or for pushing our own buttons.
The beginning of compassion happens when we begin to turn and examine our relationship to being human, including our emotional life. (Continued below)
In Greek myth, young Chiron was rejected by his mother and later adopted by Apollo, who taught him archery, music, medicine and prophecy. Chiron then became a teacher and healer for others, as seen in Jean-Baptiste Regnault’s 1782 painting “The Education of Achilles.” Years later, Chiron was wounded when Hercules accidentally shot him in the foot with a poisoned arrow. His attempts to heal himself with herbs did not work. In agonizing pain, but with no self-pity, Chiron sacrificed his immortality and allowed Zeus to place him in the stars in exchange for the release of Prometheus, who’d been imprisoned for giving fire to humans. Chiron’s story speaks to the personal growth, compassion and service to others that lives in all of us as a result of our own traumatic experiences. As a mentor of mine once said, “The hell you go through, you become the guide for." #chiron #centaur #sagittarius #woundedhealer #greekmyths #immortality #prometheus #zeus #achilles #apollo #jeanbaptisteregnault #trauma #healing #mindfulness #astrology #dailyastrology #wisdom #dailytarot #tarot #tarotcards #tarotcardreader #tarotcardreading #tarottribe
Chiron direct in Pisces.
I don’t know why but I feel very connected to the Chiron myte of the wounded healer. And Chiron is by far the greatest teacher in the sky for me 🙏🏻. An asteroid but an important one. And turning direct in Pisces he is now entering his last stretch here in ca. 43 years. An end of a cycle that is trying to show us where we have disconnected from the idea that all is one. The pain Chiron induces is for us to learn foregiveness, acceptance, surrender, letting go and unconditional love for ourselves and others. That means if we have become to Pisces like, with a lack of boundaries or no inner sense of identity, we will need to balance it out by setting boundaries, saying no and stop being a victim. The first aspect Chiron makes is to Mercury, so how we think about things, what we believe, how we communicate to ourselves and others is Chiron’s focus. The last 3 months have probably showed us where we still have wounds/work to do. And now we might be a lot clearer on that. What it is that keeps sending “bad karma” our way, and where we lack a sense of grounding/boundaries/being present in our bodies/action/reality. I was supposed to do a facebook live today but my Internet did not agree, so that will be postponed until tomorrow night, if you feel curious and want to join 💫 #chiron #pain #woundedhealer #lovewarrior #spirituality #astrology #pisces #astroswan

This is my favorite Chiron lesson and the one I forget over and over again. With Chiron now direct we have more access to the beauty in our beast. These places of insecurities and trauma ultimately become our "Golden Shadow." A coin termed by Jung to describe the positive aspects of our shadow, he also had Sun square his natal Chiron. Early traumas or deeply rooted insecurities often become our greatest gifts to share with the collective. We have to come into contact with the worst parts of ourselves before we can discover the best. For all of the contractions and then expansions that weave the healing journey, the key to loving all of it is knowing that the Golden Shadow always waits for more of its uncovering. #goldenshadow #chiron #jung #shadowwork #shadow
