Time is a currency.
Each day is a bank account.
No one is rich, no one is poor.
We get 24 hours each.
Spend it wisely.
Spend it on what makes you smile.
Spend it on what makes you feel alive.
Money returns, but time doesn’t.
Some places leave their permanent mark on you.
Some pictures just don’t do the world justice
I heard it was International Mountain Day...I cant even vocalize how much joy I receive from these monsters...they're just....wow. .
☃️ I channeled my inner child today & played in the snow!!! So. Much. Fun. I’m a newbie when it comes to hiking in snowy conditions, but my microspikes did the job! Easy to use & great traction!! Really looking forward to more winter snow hikes! 🤩 I didn’t summit any mountains today because— well, you’ll see why later 😅 (video coming I promise). Also, I’m learning that it’s not always about getting to the peak. Today was just about enjoying the journey & going with the flow. 😎 I explored & played in the snowy mountains & then tested out the new camp/backpacking stove. 10/10 day. V happy. 😌
Happy International Mountain Day! Being in the mountains is a reset for me. It’s where life slows down even though the pace speeds up. It’s where I go to regain structure and clarity. Thanks Mountains for all that you’ve done in my life.

"Everybody should do in their lifetime, sometime, two things. One, is to consider death. To observe scowls and skeletons and to wonder what it would be like to go to sleep and never wake up. Never. That is a very gloomy thing for contemplation, but it's like manure. Just as manure fertilizes the plants and so on. So the contemplation of death and the acceptance of death, is very highly generative of creative life. You get wonderful things out of that. And the other thing to contemplate, is to follow the the possibility of the idea that you are totally selfish. That you don't have a good thing to be said about you at all. You are a complete, utter rascal. Now when you go deeply into the nature of selfishness, what do you discover? You say I love myself if I seek my own advantage. Now what is the self I love? What do I want? And that becomes an increasingly, ever deepening puzzle."
“And then I realized that to be more alive,
I had to be less afraid.
So I did it.
I lost my fear, and gained my whole life”
Journey to 100// Stawamus Chief - Squamish, BC
As most of us understand, fear is powerful. Fear of judgement, fear of what could go wrong, fear of failing, succeeding, falling or rising.. it controls the quality of a life in so many aspects. I can say this, because I have, and do, let it control my actions on many accounts. A healthy dose of fear keeps our species alive. I am not saying all fear should be eliminated, because we need it to survive. But when we break free of doubts, of those fears that keep us from living the life we dreamt about when we were fearless kids, we really start to notice the vast greatness we could be experiencing through the course of this life. What is it that stops us from living every dream we had as children? I obviously don’t have the answer for everyone, but I can guess fear plays a big part in the “why” of that question
Do you remember what the answer would have been, if you asked your 5 y/o self what kind of amazing things you were going to do with your life when you were “all grown up?” (When does that all grown up thing even happen?🤔) .. don’t let fear lie in the way of those big dreams you had when you were 5. It is said; do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain🔥 #journeyto100

I started looking over a few old photos from past adventures... it’s not something I do super often, but maybe I should given how many pictures I take.
For starters, doing this totally filled me up with gratitude- I’ve been able to go on years of adventures to some incredible places. It also reminded me of how much my soul gets fed from exploring.
I feel most like myself when I’m in an unfamiliar environment, somewhere that the colors pop and the smells are totally unfamiliar, meeting people who will later star in stories I’ll end up retelling for years. Getting from point A to B suddenly turns into a livelier quest.
I’ve got a long list of places I look forward to going to someday, but right now I’m feeling endlessly grateful for all the places I’ve already been taken.
Happy International Mountain Day and Travel Trip Tuesday 🏞️ P.S. All the cool people wear life jackets.. errrkay. | The mountains are my favorite place! There's nothing quite as beautiful to the eye as those majestic peaks, evergreens, and pure wilderness surrounding me. | Travel Tip this week is to try new things when traveling! It's the perfect time to experience different foods, sports, cultures, histories, the and activities. This was my first time canoeing (properly). I canoed in college with friends, but usually I was in front doing all the work and my best friend Jill was in back relaxing. 😑😂. This was so much fun - even when a sudden storm came between those peaks and we had to race back to the dock! Just made it more of an adventure. 😋🏞️ | 📍 Lake Louise, Banff National Park, AB, Canada. 🏞️

We finally made it to the top of the Slides. Happy for the sunshine today but bring on more snow! ❄❄❄❄❄❄❄❄
Today is... International Mountain Day!!!! ⛰ ❤️ I’m so grateful for these places to play in, pray in, dream in, be joyful in, to form incredible friendships in, to push my barriers and discover my limits or lack of. This place that humbles me, makes me strong, teaches me to endure, to be more grateful, that gives me peace and clarity. #internationalmountainday #lovemountains #celebrate #adventure #trailrunning
“it’s such a rare and incredible thing, to be alive. to laugh so hard your body forgets how to breath and scream because you can and change in every way without ever trying. to kiss and cry and eat dessert and stare at the ceiling and wonder if you’re happy enough.
think yes (flowers that grow without being planted and old dogs and children who reach out to touch the sky because they don’t know the limits of the world just yet)
think no (big storms that erase small costal villages and the boy with sad eyes who broke you so bad you don’t recognize your own reflection and stolen wallets in misfit hands)
close your eyes and think what you think and don’t ever stop.”
to be continued (1/2)
“I’d rather own a little and see the world, then own the world and see a little” ~ Alexander Sattler. That’s truly how I feel these days. But sometimes I need a reminder. It’s easy to get caught up in keeping up with the “Jones’s” , especially this time of year. I rarely go in stores but now that I’ve been doing a little Xmas shopping, suddenly my entire home and wardrobe needs to be replaced. Everything looks so beautiful, shiny and new. I start questioning how much money I need to make or things I “need” to buy. But it’s all just stuff and no value. And going into debt because I need more stuff isn’t worth it. That’s why travel is important to me. They are memories that are irreplaceable and hold value in my life. Having purpose and compassion have also brought value to my life. At the end of the day it’s not how big your house is or how much money you make. It’s about all the good you do and the lives you touch. #collectexperiencesnotthings #stayhumble #staygrounded #begrateful #appreciate #livekindly #becompassionate #minimalism #travel #healthiswealth #naturelover #outdoorlife #getoutside #seetheworld #choosemountains #backpacking #plantbased #vegan
