Where in my life have I not been willing to let love enter? How apropos to reflect upon this on Valentine’s Day, the day of LOVE.❤️ To this, there is no simple answer. It runs deep. Stemming from my own self worth, my longing to be unfiltered, raw and REAL. Oh, but how frightening it can be to take off the mask.❤️ But this, this is what I crave, authenticity.❤️ Connection with self allows that deep connection with others. And isn’t this what we all crave? That energy, that realness attracting like a magnet, pulling you into its vibration.❤️ My story has been that allowing people to get too close leads to heartbreak. People always leave.❤️ It’s true. People leave. I have endured the sadness, pain and felt as if my world was crashing. BUT, I will not allow this story to play on repeat. AND, because of this, I understand what it means to love and be loved fully.❤️ I intend to ALLOW myself to be drenched in love, to be the best version of me, giving others permission to do the same.❤️ Knowing that it is ok to let go of those that aren’t meant to be on my journey. It’s time to reintroduce myself to my people. To allow those that are truly here for me to enter my space. To get to know the REAL me, flaws and all. ❤️ Guiding myself and others to personal freedom, being unafraid to love, to speak my truth, to break free from social conditioning, being present, connecting, hugging, holding hands. ❤️ Allowing those into my life that are truly here for me, and I for them. "A common misconception is that you build muscle in the gym... whereas you actually break it down.
When we work out, the repetitive motions of lifting heavy loads result in minute muscle tears and acute muscle catabolism (breakdown). However, this is a GOOD THING, because it’s a physiological signal for our muscles to GROW. Following your workout, your muscles are incredibly sensitive nutrient uptake (particularly the amino acids from protein and glucose from carbohydrates). It’s these nutrients (in conjunction with sleep, a balanced diet with sufficient energy, adequate hydration and decreased stress) that help you RECOVER in the hours and days following your workout. These factors combined allow your muscles to repair, so they can grow to be bigger and stronger!
Remember, exercise is simply the stimulus. It’s adequate nutrition + recovery methods that ultimately change your body composition.
