How it’s made (Part 1)
I wanted this tank to have a complex shape, and it had to fit the frame correctly. The best way to go about this was to make a foam “buck”, which is a scale model of the part that you intend to make. Once the buck was carved from foam, I made my patterns and shaped the side panels. I decided to make each of the side panels from one piece, I’ll discuss the techniques I used to shape the side another time. Next the center panel was shaped, welded into place, and the welds planished smooth. Any questions? Check back soon for the rest of the process.
