Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is our favourite festive classic: “There were ruddy, brown-faced, broad-girthed Spanish Onions, shining in the fatness of their groth like Spanish Friars, and winking from their shelves.” This year we’ll be donating to the Whitechapel Mission which supports the homeless during the holidays. @whitechapel_mission_ncs
Can we top last year?! The Welcare toy donations are coming in thanks to your wonderful generosity 🎁✨ If you'd like to pass a gift on to an under-privileged child in our community please bring in a new & unwrapped toy to our office before next Monday, 17th December. Thank you ❤️
Today I donated eight of my crocheted pieces (four cowls and four hats) to @argyleyarnshop
as part of their collection of handmade items for the local Pre-K children to hand out at a nearby food pantry 💗 These were all things I made at the very beginning of my crocheting adventure many years ago when I was just learning, and I have been saving them for the perfect opportunity to donate to those in need. It feels so good to know that neighbors who need a bit of extra warmth and love this season will receive that through my beginner stitches. Can’t wait for the chance to donate more! 💗 Where is your favorite place to give your handmade items? #withlovefrommolly #yarnhug
Hey girls, I have a bunch of new clothes that still have tags on them. (Christmas is almost here) I also have whole bunch of bras literally never worn. Sizes are small to medium. If you would like anything, the money goes toward kids in Yemen. Donate anything more then 10 dollars and it’s yours. Message me. 😊
I motivated (ie. forced) my family to visit the Giving Vending Machines in downtown Salt Lake City. I love these things. Instead of getting chips, I can give to charity with a vending machine. It's kind of interesting that the act of being able to pus the buttons to choose my donation seems to make the experience even better for me. I think it's a bit of Jedi mind trick, but I love it all the same.⠀
At one time I wanted to put up origami vending machines and give all the money raised to charity. Well you can see how far that idea went --not a single origami donation machine out there in the world. -- So I fulfill my desire by purchasing chickens and such at these machines instead. I understand there are now machines in Arizona, Manhattan, London and Manila, Phillipines. What an epic trip that would be to donate at every machine. If you live in any of these places send me a photo of you donating. I want to see the machines in other countries, especially. ⠀
Best part of these donations ALL the administrative costs for the donation and the implementation of the donation by the charities is absorbed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So 100% is going to the cause. Doesn't get much better than that.⠀

I’m donating to a holiday collection and of course I chose to supply the menstrual supplies. As someone who has always been a heavy bleeder, I made sure to include the “heavy duty” pads and tampons because I feel like they would not often get donated. I really wanted to put in applicator-free tampons like O.B., because I feel like they wouldn’t get donated as much either, but I realize that not everyone is comfortable with using them, and (like a diva cup) always requires access to soap and water, so I went for the conventional kind. .
If you’re going to a holiday event that has a food bank drive this year, consider bringing some tampons or pads to donate instead. Or, bring a monetary donation. Food Banks will always get a better deal on purchasing non-perishable goods than we do as consumers and canned goods require a lot of labour to sort (and may not be needed as much as other items). A monetary donation allows food banks to be able to use their purchasing power to buy what is most needed. Or, if you donated tampons / pads, you can rest assured that those things are harder to come by easily for people in need and a monthly necessity (so you know they will definitely put to good use)!

Sweet, amazing Insta-buddies, please help me give my friend’s 7 yr old daughter the gift of hearing this Christmas.
Adrienne, was unexpectedly diagnosed with hearing loss today and needs hearing aids. .
Despite the fact that this two-income family is as hard working as they come, this is a hard hit at Christmastime. Aids are thousands of dollars, even with insurance. They are trying to get this order in before the end of the month so they can beat the deductible roll over in January. .
This family is so selfless and giving and has saved my hide numerous times, from helping me draw blood from my farm animals for testing to farmsitting and so much more. .
My friend would do just about anything to avoid asking for help for herself or her family but this is the season for kindness and love, especially for those that need us. Every penny would mean the world to my friends. .
Will you consider even a very small donation? I’d love to blow the Hatch Family away with a Christmas Miracle of their own. ❤️ (Link in profile)

Please read. I apologize for the sad post but it’s important for people to know. ...
Starting from today, until we move to a new location, we will not be taking new cats or kittens. ...
Everyday we receive calls or messages from people who found kittens in the street, or people who are leaving the island, and would like us to take their cats. It is heartbreaking every time we have to say no. Our capacity of cats at the cafe is 15. We have space to foster a few kittens upstairs, and we have a few foster homes helping us. I have said it many times but we are not a shelter, and yet, as of today, we are caring for 31 cats and kittens in the building (not including the cats boarding) and we have 15 kittens in foster homes. It’s more than twice what we should be handling. That’s double the cost for food, for litter, and for vet bills. ...
While we are financially struggling with the cats everyday needs, we are also trying to raise money to move to a new location. If we don’t raise enough money and don’t find a new space, we won’t be able to keep going. It would break our hearts and we hope we won’t have to come to this. ...
The countdown till Christmas has started. All we want this year is for as many cats to have homes for the holidays. The joy of being loved by their very own families would make us so happy. If you can’t adopt, tell your friends about us. Show them pictures of our beautiful cats. Or help us keep going by donating and sharing our story.
