The front facade progress at our latest build. 🏡
Polished concrete 🙌🏽🙌🏽 one more grind to go at Patrick house. No cracks and plenty of exposed rock.
The use of thermal mass in a home like this helps with regulating the temperature, therefore less mechanical uses for heating and cooling.
Working with trades that are so passionate about their work is always refreshing and simply motivating. Mick from MRD polishing has done an epic job.

You are going to have to use your imagination to merge these two house claddings together! We are going for a black corrugated iron cladding as shown on this @redarchitecture_
property in the Waikato (dimondclad rib50 to be exact), together with a concrete look plaster. We decided against cedar as our original brief emphasised low maintenance and that is really important to us, so see ya later cedar 🙋🏻♀️ #newbuild #cladding #lowmaint

Today, after three weeks of living behind a layer of scaffolding, we got to see our home in all it’s made over glory! And we couldn’t be more happier.
There had been much debate about the colour of the cladding (would sage green stick out too much in an estate of sand yellow / does green go with brown windows & red stone) but I am so glad we took a punt & jumped in with both feet. Well the husband dipped his toe for a while until he got bored of me saying it will be fine (he’s convinced now by the way, I even got a ‘you were right’ 😀) Now all I need is some lovely blue skied sunny winter days to get decent pictures, but I couldn’t wait & just had to share.
Take a swipe to see the before picture! What do you think? Better yellow or green?
