This past few weeks have been so full of community. I went to see a property with a group of people I’m working towards intentional community with, I’ve cooked for friends several nights, we’ve had people stay over and I’ve held space for people I love and care deeply for. When I first moved to Australia, I felt confident that I could create the community of my dreams but after a few months my confidence dwindled and I felt like it wasn’t happening and would take forever. Here I am, just over 2 years later, with a diverse community of beings that bring so much purpose, support, laughter, challenge and hope into my life. What does your community look like? What do you want it to look like?

Are Hemp and Marijuana the Same?
Deconstructing the biggest controversy of hemp that caused it to be banned for 80 years
Short Answer: No, they are just both part of the Cannabis family
Hemp is completely different from marijuana in its function, cultivation and application. But these differences didn’t stop our political leaders from getting confused and accidentally grouping all Cannabis species as a Schedule I Drug and banning it in 1970 under the Controlled Substances Act. Even after 45 years, the government still seems to have some confusion in distinguishing the two plants. Although legislation is being made, progress has been slow.In its application, hemp and marijuana serve completely different purposes. Marijuana, as it is widely known, is used for medicinal or recreational purposes. Hemp is used in variety of other applications that marijuana couldn’t possibly be used in. These include healthy dietary supplements, skin products, clothing, and accessories. .

Throwback to this cutie who is so excited to have more trees to climb!
Ps we never cut down trees!!! But this one was having problems and causing problems. We planted 2 to replace it.
BALANCE…like the word itself, is difficult for most of us to achieve.
However, I feel it’s a necessity if we want to live out content and fulfilling lives. And what better way to navigate through this crazy life than with the helping hand of those you love most. Whether it be personally, in our biz, or to climb up a Palm Tree 🌴😉 we’re always grateful to have each other each day, to help bring that balance into each others lives. 💙
What about you…WHO BRINGS THE MOST BALANCE TO YOUR LIFE???
to the park a few weeks back. I can’t wait until it’s not freezing so I can go back. 🍃🍂🍁
We have two symbol trees in the garden of Wakayama Waldorf School. Our kids call the tall one, “the Big tree” and the lower one, “the Middle tree”. They love climbing them so much. Usually the kids around 4 years old who can communicate better start climbing trees.
But the Big tree is special for them. The kids who can climb it are regarded as the “elder” boy or girl from other kids. The Big tree is higher than our building. The small kids who have short arm and legs cannot reach their toe and their hands to the high branch. So it’s for the elder kids. They enjoy chatting or their play on the top of the tree without the adults and the small kids.
But finally the group of age 4 started climbing the Big tree! Their first climb was very careful. As they climbed on the top, they move to the branch to others as if they try to feel everything of the Big tree. At last they sat down on the branch.
I wonder how the view from the Big tree was. I see the shiny badge “ The elder” on their backs.

Every time I climb a tree
I scrape a leg
Or skin a knee
And every time I climb a tree
I find some ants
Or dodge a bee
And get the ants
All over me.
And every time I climb a tree
Where have you been?
They say to me
But don’t they know that I am free
Every time I climb a tree? ...
Fifteenth, November, looking up...
Get it girl! Getting a little stretchy love!
Who else makes up ridiculous jingles for their kids? Isabelle's song is "Come on, IB," to the tune of "Come on, Eileen," and Katie's song is "All the Baby Katies" to the tune of "All the Single Ladies." And then of course we have diaper changing songs (with a separate jingle for doody, of course 😂), eating songs, and a jammies song with an accompanying jammy dance, to name a few others. I'm dreading the day the girls realize what nerds Jason and I are with our doody jingles, but for now they think our songs are hilarious. I have a theory that these are the things that turn parents into perceived "dorks" (except you guys, Mom and Dad!) I think that as a parent, you spend so many of the early years making up silly songs, dances, and jokes for your kids to make them laugh. It eventually becomes a part of your personality. Then your kids get older, and they are no longer entertained, but nerdy jingles and "dad jokes" are just a part of your life now. I'm pretty sure Jason and I will continue to be amused with our own jingles and jokes, long after our kids think they're lame. So at least we can nerd-out together. What kind of jingles do you sing to your kids?
