With CASPA season just a month away and the struggles of this semester, I’ve been reflecting on the stages of going through #PAschool
👩🏻⚕️ It is just a rollercoaster of emotions!
▪️First comes the research and your decision to become a PA, this can be a fun and exciting phase
▪️Followed by the lengthy preparation phase, which includes education, volunteering, shadowing, getting hands on patient care experience, etc. Probably not as fun but you know it’s going to help you get there!
🔲Next in line is the APPLICATION cycle! there’s actually several stages here, including submitting everything, getting interviews, and then acceptances & rejections. I mean, the anxiety goes thru the roof, you are so nervous, and eve afraid of rejection… This is likely the worst stage for many
▪️When you finally get your ACCEPTANCE, the FEELINGS of joy, happiness, accomplishment just can even fit in your body. Probably the best stage!
▪️Then, you start school, and first semester is hard, but great because, I mean, YOU MADE IT!
▪️As you keep going thru didactic, things get even harder, test anxiety is bad, you cry, your type A personality is as vivid as can be, you push yourself as hard as can be…and get to a point where all you want is to MAKE IT TO ROTATIONS!
✅That’s where I am right now, and I’m excited to see what rotations will be like 👩🏻⚕️ Nevertheless, I am incredibly grateful for this journey, for having a seat in this class, for all the learning opportunities I get, and for being able to share it all with you and help inspire you along the way. I can’t wait for all of you to accomplish your goals this year!
