* GET OVER YOURSELF (probably going to lose followers with this truth) “Don’t call attention to yourself; let others do that for you.” Proverbs 27:2 MSG
It can be hard not talking about yourself, but do your best! Instead, be modest and ask questions about others, their lives, abilities, difficulties, and testimonies.
I know some who focus on what they deserve and want others to honor them, but ultimately feel upset, bitter, and lose relationships when others don’t put them on a pedestal. Discouraged over their wounded egos rather than satisfied in doing their best (Prov 25:27). The difference between obnoxious and gracious people is one always slips in their opinion, abilities, experience, and portentous wisdom. Oppose to always being sincerely concerned about the others wellbeing. Seeking Gods praise, not their own (II Cor 10:18). My advice? Remember that God gave two commands – love God and love your neighbor (Matt 22:34-40). Promoting yourself isn’t in His equation, despite societies “self-love”, “self-esteem”, “self...etc.” doctrines (Phil 2:3-4). Stop being conceded - start being modest.
