Consistency comes from discipline. Motivation is like an ebb and flow. Some times I feel sooooo motivated to train every day, eat well and be productive towards my goals. Other days I want to veg out and binge watch Netflix. On those days I call on discipline to come over.... and I can do that because I understand my why. And it’s not to look good - looking better over the last 18 months has been a lovely side effect of kicking healthy. ❤️
You HAVE a body. You ARE a soul.
When you exercise, are you doing it just to make your body look a certain way? Do you put yourself through workouts you don't enjoy because you think that's the only way you'll see results? .
When was the last time you moved your body just to feel good? Not because you felt like you had to for your physical health, or because you thought it would make your waist shrink... But just because it FELT good?
Our bodies are our vessels which allow us to experience the world, and we each only get one of them. So yes, our physical health is super important - without it, our experience of the world and our opportunities to explore it are limited. It's also important to feel good about your body and comfortable in your own skin - and there's nothing wrong with wanting to change the way you look, as long as you aren't attaching your worth as a person to your appearance.
But there are SO many different ways to move our bodies. Odds are highly likely that there is SOME form of movement you enjoy - something that brings you joy on the inside while you're breaking a bit of a sweat. It might not be lifting weights, I highly doubt that it's stationing yourself on an elliptical for hours on end under bright fluorescent lights, and maybe it isn't technically the most "optimal" thing you can do to lose the most weight or look the most toned. But moving for your soul matters too!
Because you aren't your body - you HAVE a body. You ARE a soul. Whenever possible, exercise in a way that serves both of these things. Or in the least, cut out anything that feels like pure torture (because I'd be willing to bet you could find an activity that you actually find some enjoyment in that produces similar results), and regularly include at least SOME form of movement that speaks to your soul - that brings you joy on the inside, that strengthens the connection you feel to your body, or, if you're in nature, to the Earth.
When I lift weights, the feeling of blood rushing into my muscles makes me feel more connected to and more present in my body - and just more alive!(And not going to lie, I like the way it makes my outer vessel look too 💪🤓)Cont⬇
I'm so so so proud of this boy. This week he came with me to a memorial service and handled it with grace and kindness. He has been busting out some serious hits in baseball. And he asked to stay late in Martial Arts tonight so he could earn an extra stripe. I used to question my requirement that he follow through with commitments, thinking maybe I was being too strict, but I am starting to see the payoff. He has not always been easy to raise, but this mama is swelling with pride right now. He's such a great guy! #proudmama#hardwork#consistency#goodboy#parenting
When it comes to fat loss, it's incredibly important that you put your time and energy into the things that have the greatest impact.
I know your friend Nancy swears you have to spend at least 5 hours a week plodding along on the treadmill, while hating every second. But Nancy needs to shut up.
Your top priority should be food. How much, and how nutrient dense.
Your second priority should be strength training. This retains muscle, keeps your metabolism high and burns calories.
Those two alone can get you much further than following Nancy's advice.

“ Never taking Risk”
Many people Will pass through life events never really taking a risk. People get comfortable and stepping outside of that comfort zone it’s scary, uncertain and not worth the risk
Not taking risk means never achieving maximum success. Never knowing what it’s like to fail and then succeed. You’ll never understand what it’s like to have all the cards stacked against you and come out on top
For those of you reading this who may be thinking about taking the leap, I would encourage you to do so. As a matter of fact I would encourage you to do so headfirst with no regrets. Once you jump you’ll find out it’s not as hard as you think and any goal at any time can be accomplished! .
Don’t be another SAD story 💯
Everyday is another opportunity to excel. Try your hardest through the sweat and the exhaustion you will get better. Consistency is key to overcoming failure. Failing is not the end, it only means you haven’t tried other methods or haven’t failed enough time to succeed. -
Seventy-third workout of 2018!! Its funny how growth allows you to embrace things that you once didn't think counted. As the dynamics of my life continue to evolve, so does my perspective on physical activity and fitness. Cuz baaaaay-baaaaay, STEPS do count! 👀😜I managed to get in well over 8,000 steps today with added steps walking the fitness floor and coaching a client at work tonight.

Seventy-fourth workout of 2018!! Felt like crap this morning, but had a spin class I couldn't miss for my group fitness class. As bad as I felt, I had to did extra deep abs power on through...trashcan to the left and I was good. I'm so glad that a good sweet helped me start to feel a tad better. After I finished a test and another class I picked up some chicken noodle soup and chilled for the rest of the day. Much needed...thank you Netflix and cozy blanket.
WORKOUT MOOD: Mind over matter...👊🏾👊🏾
