is designed to encourage you guys to #shopindependent
& support small businesses this season. It started yesterday and is trending all week as an alternative to Black Friday. There are lots of wonderful artists, designers, makers and artisans to look out for and I’ll be catching up starting with...🥁 roll... 10 very random facts you may/may not know about me....
• I’m a Mum, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Niece, friend, business development manager, designer, maker, gin drinker & expert cushion plumper upper 😂 • I live in Wiltshire in the UK and I adore it here. • When I was young I wanted to be a Midwife. I really am not sure why, and the idea didn’t last long! • I was an Art teacher for 20 years and loved it. I left teaching in order to pursue my creativity. I now spend half my week painting/creating with clay and half the week working with my Dad, developing coaching programs for educators. • I am a real home bird. • I like lemonade with my gin. I know... shocker! 😯 G&L doesn’t sound all that glamourous does it? But who cares? If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out 😉 • I’m married to Mike and have 2 gorgeous boys. Well, I suppose I should say 3! 😍 • I was born to make my own rules. 😂 • I have always loved making things and being creative. I can remember sitting next to my Grandma Bett when I was small, whilst she was sewing on her old Singer sewing machine and I was amazed at how she could create clothes with no instructions. How were all those instructions and that creativity just sitting in her head?! I’m lucky enough to have her old Singer now and need to learn the ropes soon. 🧵
• And that thing they say indies do, you know, about ‘doing a little jig when you buy from them’...? Yep, that’s me. I do that. It’s an amazing feeling. Like someone says ‘what you’re doing is so worthwhile and I love you for it.’ So please, if you can, support the independent this season. Each one works so hard at doing what they love. I’m sure I’m not the only one who likes to jig! ✨🌟✨ #supporttheindependent #supportthemakers #shoplocal #amodernmaker #meetthemaker #beatriceandbetty #amandadugganstudio #contemporaryceramics #handmadeintheuk
