i had a bit of a crazy instagrammer moment tonight, but in the spirit of transparency i’m going to share it here 📸 i got home from work feeling starving and had some snacks, so by the time dinner rolled around i wasn’t super hungry anymore. the original plan had been to have brown rice with this meal, but i didn’t want to anymore. internally i started to get worried because i’m always preaching the “balanced plate” and talking about how meals should be a good balance of protein, veggies, healthy fats, and carbs, but without the rice i’d be missing that last part. then i realized how silly it was to feel pressure to add an additional side when i didn’t even want it. so here’s my dinner- protein, veg, and some healthy fat. and it worked just fine for me and my hunger level. the end. ps if any of you are still reading this i’m seriously impressed. // wild alaskan salmon with strawberry olive tapenade (recipe is by @dishingouthealth 🍴)with a side of roasted sugar snap peas with mint (recipe by @shercastellano 🌱) #transparency #listentoyourbody #

@sweeetbeeef 's ravioli. He gently tucks them under a towel until it's time to boil and I just had to sneak a photo of these lovingly made little pasta pillows. I'm very impressed with his dedication to his ravioli and watching him experiment with so many fillings and sauces. Can't say I'm mad at getting to try all of them either, and so far all have been delicious and very successful flavor combinations! Tucked inside this batch of hand-kneaded dough is salmon we caught on Lake Michigan, dill, ricotta, and marscarpone. He ended up making a cream-braised fennel puree for the sauce and a little squeeze of citrus sent it over the top. Needless to say when he put a plate of the finished product in front of me I didn't have time to take a picture! 🤤 🤷🏽‍♀️🍴 #cookathome #pasta

I found a new fruit @everyonesharvest Farmers’ Market-Mango Nectarines! 🍑 Soooo good. Cross between two types of nectarines; no mango involved. I was a little overly zealous with my grilling, but they were delicious grilled, then drizzled with date-sweetened and basil-infused balsamic vinegar glaze. Boil 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar until reduced to 1/8 cup. Remove from heat & whisk in 1 tablespoon date syrup, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon chopped basil. Optional: stir in 2 teaspoons butter.

Soo this is my homemade version of black pepper chicken. My husband approved so it’s a winner! And it wasn’t complicated I’m always about easy recipes. There’s no exact measurements cause I just threw it all together. Here’s what I did: marinate chicken with coconut aminos, ginger powder, a little rice vinegar and tapioca starch for like 30 minutes. Then sautéed in avo oil while the chicken was cooking chopped a celery stalk and half onion. Добавляем к луку с чесноком, и жарим на среднем огне минут 15. Добавляем приправу "лесные грибы" 1 ч.л. - она придаст аромат и пикантный вкус (по желанию) + 1 ст.ложка муки, перемешать хорошо + сметаны (15%) - 2-3 ст.ложки. Зелень (укроп) измельчаем и добавляем к грибам, перемешиваем, солим и перчим по вкусу, лавровый лист. Оставляем остывать. Берем тарталетки (продаются в супермаркете) начиняем уже остывшими грибами, сверху украшаем зеленью (укроп). In light of what are being described as some pretty heavy storms arriving, I figured it was time to harvest some of the herbs (all of which have grown like crazy this summer), some flowers, a pepper or two, and the last of the lettuce. Looks like I’ll be making basic pesto and adding to the herb drying rods with oregano, thyme, sage & sweet marjoram. By the way, late lettuce (here in the back) isn’t always great for salad since it may pick up a bit of bitterness. But - late lettuce makes amazing Lettuce soup which can be served hot or cold. It’s easy to put together and you can please yourself with added herbs, spices, even a bit of heat. The basic soup is wilted lettuce, garlic, EVOO, salt & pepper and chicken or vegetable stock. Use an immersion blender or blender to purée it after the lettuce has wilted down. Add oregano, thyme, parsley -whatever you like - and swirl in some heavy cream to blend. If you can, put it in the ‘fridge for a few hours before serving. Check seasonings and enjoy. We love hot sauce! We have so many different kinds in the fridge, they can get lost! If you don’t go through your condiments quickly, I’d recommend cleaning out the fridge once or twice a year and tossing anything you haven’t used in the last six months. Because we prefer to eat food instead of throw it away, we often spend more per serving on smaller containers of food items. Готовый суп – пюре разложите в тарелки, а сверху украсьте измельченной зеленью и сухариками. Подавать такой супчик нужно обязательно в горячем виде. Preparation: First cook the chicken broth, then put the potatoes in it and allow it to boil. When the potatoes are ready, place the melted cheese in the broth and stir so that they dissolve. Broth with potatoes pour into a blender and chop, so that the potatoes can not be seen at all. Onions and mushrooms fry in a frying pan with butter. Grilled champignons with onions put into a blender and again chop everything. Finish the soup - mashed potatoes in plates, and decorate with crushed herbs and croutons on top. Got this popcorn hack from @altonbrown and it's the best I've ever had. The trick is to blend your salt quite finely and add to the corn and oil at the start, this allows for even distribution and makes for the most moreishly seasoned popcorn, the kind where you just can't stop, hence no picture of the popcorn. I used smoked Maldon sea salt flakes, some dried shiitake mushroom and a small piece of dried seaweed. I usually dress up my popcorn afterwards with melted butter and a delicate combo of garlic salt, aromat and table salt, truffle salt if I'm balling, but this combo is divine and no butter required (#vegan ?). The other tip is in the type of pan you use, and I got immediately pissed off when I watched the video because even I don't have one of those goddamn annoying round bottom bowls, so I used my wok, which worked perfectly.
