H O M E C O O K I N G // do you like cooking? 🤔
I love it! I also love hosting and preparing food for others. as cheesy as it sounds, it brings me happy vibes 😀 - from planning the menu, through cooking/baking to sitting down and eating together.
Cooking is when I feel ‘in the zone’, focused and present. I can completely lose track of time. although, I admit that there’s always some level of stress to it too — whether it’s a missing ingredient, time pressure or dealing with toddler tantrums while stirring what’s on the stove 👶 🍳 🤪
Cooking at home is important to me, as I love knowing what I’m eating. Don’t get me wrong! - I love a good take away (Indian food, forever 💙☺️) and eating out when I get a chance. But, at home, I can choose what ingredients I put in, what flavors I feel like and what nutrients to add in and when. more so now, when I think about helping my kids to grow healthy 🥗👶
Nourishment, mindfulness, flavors, nutrients, caring, health, creativity, love, curiosity, freedom, taste — is what home cooking means to me.
what does it mean to you? 🤓

I have 3 bottles of maple syrup at home because when I'm at the grocery I keep forgetting that I already have plenty at home. Oops! It's not such a bad thing when I can make this maple-glazed roasted acorn squash with pomegranate seeds, walnuts, scallions and goat cheese. It has cayenne pepper, so it has a little heat. Thanksgiving Central, Let’s Go! Turkey Drippings…I don’t know about you, but for me turkey drippings are an essential part of Thanksgiving. Sometimes with all the rush and madness in the end, unplanned things happen. So in advance, I like to make my turkey drippings and it’s quite easy. I always use legs and wings, brown them on the stove first, followed by a mirepoix, then add some water and roast in the oven covered for part of them time. Why do I make this and turkey stock? Because you derive a real Magic Elixir and something that helps turn gravy into something from ordinary to extraordinary. It’s simple to do and actually quite a lot of fun, and the leftover turkey is delicious to snack on. If you haven’t made turkey stock and drippings in advance, this weekend is the perfect time. Check out the step-by-steps of the drippings that will be up later today on the stories and click link in profile for the recipe. To make this holiday less stressful, this weekend is the time to get organized - get your recipes out and print double copies, make your stock and drippings, iron your table cloth and make sure you have enough chairs for your guests. Tell me what you are going to do today and this weekend to get organized for the holiday.

Happy Friday!🤗 A couple days ago I mentioned gettin’ my fitness & health on, haha.😌🕺 Today marks the end of my first week of full commitment to my wellness AND wellbeing. I feel great! (And sore AF) I found a few holistic foodie bloggers & nutritionist babes that have some of the most beautiful and delicious meals to get others feeling inspired! This recipe is influenced by @walderwellness
6 oz non fat plain Greek yogurt + 1 cup mashed black berries + 1tsp honey. 2 Tablespoons of rolled oats + cinnamon + natural almond butter + pumpkin seeds + banana. Butternut squash, sage brown butter, and @tillamook
Farmstyle Cut Sharp Cheddar Shredded Cheese hand pies. Here’s a fun way to use up leftover butternut squash from your
Thanksgiving dinner. I always try to make two to three vegetable sides for the main event, and afterwards it’s fun to get creative with the leftovers. These fragrant and savory hand pies are
filled with creamy roasted butternut squash, melted shreds of Tillamook Sharp Cheddar, and roasted red onions, nutty brown butter and herbaceous sage, which are nestled in a flaky pie crust. The top of the pie is brushed with an egg wash and topped with a sage leaves for extra flavor and a pretty finishing decorative touch. The crust is crunchy and flakey, and the filling is soft and delicious! See my first comment below for the recipe, and head to my Stories for a behind the scenes look at making this dish! #TillamookCheese #DairyDoneRight #Tillamook_Partner #ad
