Yesterday’s Gone Fishin’ event was a blast. This group of awesome industry professionals gathered to cook (sixteen different seafood dishes!) and pour to raise funds for our NC coastal watermen affected by Hurricane Florence, and we crushed it to the tune of nearly $28,000! The work of our seafood industry is an such an anchor to the work we do in our kitchens, and it’s one of the offerings that makes us so proud to cook in N.C.! I remain equal parts blown away and so fired up by what we are able to achieve when we come together on behalf of a cause in this industry. Cooking Tip: do you like fresh rosemary? Peel 3/4 of the leaves off 8 fresh rosemary stems. Thread small cubes or pieces of chicken on the stems and grill for 3-4 minutes per side over medium heat (2-3 minutes per side if using shrimp). If it's cold where you are, grill them up on an indoor griddle on your stovetop. Here in Southern CA we are still using our BBQs outside.
