So I'm following a new workout programme for the next 10 weeks. Split between lower body and upper body workouts followed by a push and pull days and then finishing with legs. I have been following the push pull leg routine over a 4 day split for the last 10 weeks and have seen good progress. This workout plan will allow me to train each body part twice a week as well as allowing sufficient recovery times. Its always important to keep track of your progress. When you can visually see it it forces you to improve on what you done in your previous workout. In this day and age with all the apps where I can record my progress I still chose to use pen and paper lol. This way I can see everything I have achieved in 10 weeks on one page and I'm abit old school like that lol Let's see what the next 10 weeks has in store. 4th attempt of my plank series. I held the combination of plank moves for 4.45 mins an improvement of 30 secs from my last attempt. My goal of 10 mins is still far off but I’ll get there with discipline, grit and intelligent training. This progression in time and core strength was possible because I allowed my body to rest for 48 hrs. This shows the importance of rest !!!!!!!!!!!

Do you include unilateral exercises in your training? (Unilateral basically means single-leg or single-arm movements). If not, it is a good idea to start. It may seem obvious but by training your arms and legs individually, it helps you to avoid becoming dominant on one side. In turn this can correct muscle imbalances and improve balance. Not only that, it engages your core a lot more. Also, I have found it improves my compound lifts. Single I had incorporated single leg stuff into my workouts, my squat has gone up. If you can create balanced strength in both legs, your overall output will be stronger. Give it a go next time you’re in the gym. Start with these two exercises and see how you get on. 3 sets of 12 on each leg, with a 60 second rest in between sets, should do the trick. #TempsTips #unilateral #bodybuilding

These cable press downs really target the long head or inner tricep. Keep elbows against sides and drive straight up and down and kick the elbow back slightly to extend the range of motion. Duly extend the tricep at the bottom of the rep then pause briefly. Without releasing tension or the pump, resist back up SLC pow and repeat. It’s all about pumping blood into the muscle to stretch and expand it. Hold it in there the whole set til failure.
