Full of cold but got this done while I felt ok. This sort of time seems to be the ‘normal’ lately, and that’s ok by me. I know I can step it up if I need to, but these gentle runs are allowing me to really enjoy running and want to do it regularly. There have been many many times where I have fallen into the pressure trap of feeling like I’ve failed if I’m not trying to set a PB on every single run. For me, that’s not sustainable. I run before work, at 6:15am, and just getting out the door is a huge achievement. I don’t want to be killing myself every day. That’s not fun. I think I’ve officially reached the tiger blood phase of this Whole30...I feel amazing and even motivated myself to go on a run after getting home later than expected from gymnastics car-pooling duty. . There are a couple of days coming up that are going to challenge my willpower, ladies night tomorrow, a BBQ and baby shower over the weekend and a concert next week... any tips on how to get through those without giving in would be much appreciated!!

I like to self-diagnose my injuries as much as the next guy, so when this afternoon’s 5k ended in agony I turned to Google for help 🙈 It seems I have a peroneus longus muscle issue, which is causing an intense burning on the outside of my calf just below the knee. The plan? Rest until @parkrunuk this weekend and some quality time with a foam roller and tennis ball 🎾 P.S. My wife, who’s a 👩🏻‍⚕️ nurse, is going to kill me for using Google... again

Today has been all about new ideas 💭 I took time out to think about my business and research topics to write about on my #blog , looking at things my customers want to know about 💭 And I also started planning the talk I'm giving at #CSMday2018 in November 💭 This evening I went to the launch of the fabulous @dresscodeshirts at Allia Future Business Centre in Cambridge. This is a new fashion range inspired by patterns in code. They are beautifully designed by @andy_boothman. He got the idea from a printing error! 💡 Then he set about working out how to create a product, get it made, packaged and bring it to market 💡 @dan_sodergren_ spoke at the launch about the 5th industrial revolution. I'm fascinated by the #4thindustrialrevolution . I hadn't realised we were already moving on to the 5th. There's a lot of innovation in health involving #data . I'm going to be doing a lot of reading up 💡 And then we had the brilliant @jontorrens talking about #gamification , making dull tasks fun and #marypoppins . Week 14, Day 2 Half Marathon Training 🏃🏻‍♀️ The training plan said 10.5km Fast today. Can you believe, I only went and got another 5k and 10k PB!! 😀🍾😂👊🏻 Practically every run right now results in a PB and I’m not even trying! SPIIIIIINNNNNNN! Another @lesmillstribe RPM session. I love their enthusiasm and I’m trying to go at least once a week to lose this weight I’ve gained. I’m feeling like I don’t recognise myself in the mirror at all anymore and it breaks my heart. But they don’t play very good music and it’s got no beat to it so it’s really hard to follow and find a rhythm. So, drinking and newborn-ing isn’t fun is it 😂 We went to Cardiff last night to see Biffy Clyro for their MTV Unplugged set (which was amazing!) and got back home and in to bed for around 12:30. This would usually be fine, but Roman decided to be extra greedy last night and have a 2am feed AND a 6am feed 🙈 On top of that, today was jab day round 2 for our little man, so I cooked a healthy but filling brunch so I had the mental strength to get through Romans appointment 😂 This was #vegetarian due to the scrambled eggs, but you can easily make if #vegan by switching this for Tofu Scramble. So today marks my 1 year anniversary of completing couch to 5k!! 🎉🥂💃🏼 —— As you can tell by the picture, I was super happy to have ran my first 5k...😂. I completed it in a time of 27mins 41 secs, and couldn’t imagine ever getting any quicker than that. . . I originally took up running to try and improve my #hashimotos symptoms, as despite overhauling my diet I still felt so shitty and lethargic. Running has become the single most important thing in my life for maintaining my health and happiness. It also serves my competitive streak well 😏 . . A lot has changed in the past year; I’ve shaved around 6.5 minutes off of my 5k time, I’m in the best health I ever have been, I discovered wireless headphones, and most importantly, I stopped using MapMyRun and switched to Strava!! 😉 . . Really looking forward to seeing where I’m at with my running in another years time, but regardless of changes in pace, I know my health will be in the best place it can be! ☺️
