Today's #marchmeetthemaker prompt is 'couldnt live without' and for me and my work, it's gotta be my hands. I live in (underlying) constant fear that one day my hands will stop working properly - my lovely dad has a condition called Spinal Stenosis, which is basically a pinching of the nerves in the spine. One of the results of this is the loss of sensation in (and loss of use of) the hands and feet. He's been a complete trooper and adapted his life to cope with not being able to use his limbs properly, but he still finds it hard sometimes. He's way braver than I am and the idea that one day I could just wake up and not be able to craft any more is completely terrifying. Look after your bodies, folks! Says me who today ate leftover pizza, a cupcake and a brownie for lunch 🙈 edited to add, this picture was taken in my hotel room the night before our wedding, I loved these trippy night lights!

Made this adorable macrame stone necklace today. Put a beautiful polished purple amethyst in there that my partner bought me for christmas and topped it off with a wooden bead. I definitely want to make some more of these! ✨
Finally sliced up some wood counterparts to fit the clay pieces I made a few weeks back. Perhaps there is a more official name for this type of fit, but I've been referring to them as "expansion joints," where a deep relief cut allows the end of the wood to (you guessed it) expand to perfectly fill the void in the ceramic part. More of this to come!
My grandparents. I cherish this photograph with all my heart, their wedding day February 9, 1957. Although no longer here I have enough memories and laughter to fill a lifetime. My love of antiques, refurnishing, and crafting is because of them. School breaks were spent going to their house to work on projects, watching the antique road show, learning how to knit, and of course snack breaks that consisted of a Kit Kat bar. It is because of all they taught me in their projects, I wanted to have a piece of them in mine. The name is taken from my grandfather, Delbert James Breckon and myself Tiffany Dawn. “Thinking of you, but that is nothing new. Thought about you yesterday, and the day before that too. I’ll think about you tomorrow, and as the years come and go. I’ll think about you forever because I loved you so” - unknown
