““You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”
Salt is a mineral, but set apart from every other mineral. It’s used in pretty much every dish that we eat. It’s purpose is to better everything it touches. Does salt ever go bad? To my knowledge it doesn’t. In this verse Jesus uses something as stable and necessary as salt and describes it as if went bad. Imagine getting a McDonald’s fry and the salt was sour, in the trash it goes. If we are the salt of the earth, we need to be stable, necessary, and be apart of everything. Going bad should be unheard of. There’s a lot of fries in this world. Let’s salt it up! 🧂 🍟
