When your hair is as big as half your body 😂👌🏼 I used to hate my curls - I did everything in my power to ensure my hair was straight every single day. I chemically straightened it and would avoid swimming just so I didn’t have to get it wet. Until one day I decided that I had enough of resisting my natural being. I so desperately wanted to have hair and legs and a body like other girls until I realised that no matter how hard I tried, how much money I spent at the end of the day - at the core - I was me and that wasn’t going to change. A completely unique individual that was given a set of beautiful traits that she spent years trying to hide and cover up. Instead of resisting, I began to embrace my curls and find ways to make them work in my favour. I started working on myself and figuring out how to love everything about this body I was given. Nowadays, I get so many compliments on my hair from girls wishing their hair was naturally curly and not “lifeless” or “boring”. My response is always the same - We seem to always want what we can’t have. There are thousands of people out there wishing they had your hair, your legs, your skin, nails, kindness, warmth, humour and here you are wanting to give it all away. Chances are, if we do get what we wish for, we’ll find a way to turn it into a negative and then strive to have something else.
Embrace YOU, love yourself and all that you perceive as your “flaws” because to someone else, these “flaws” are what make you perfectly imperfect and a completely unique beautiful individual ❤️
Happy Monday ☺️ I’m off to start my week with an afternoon pump session 🔥👊🏼💪🏽
