Let it dry some more and decided to #smasterstechnique
a tiny bit of
coconut and hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie for good measure (it also has protein)
Root clipped here then diffused till dry. I'm surprised I don't have that much frizz but I'm guessing it's because my hair NEEDED the protein.

Is cowashing considered a wash day?! Today I cowashed with @asiamnaturally
, but I’m DEFINITELY going to wash tomorrow after my workout. It looks pretty good, but it’s feeling a bit greasy. Too much product? I don’t know, but I can’t seem to get past Day 2 without desperately wanting to shampoo my scalp. The cowash just didn’t seem to do it for me as far as feeling “clean”. Or, is this part of the transition and I’ll eventually not feel like a greaseball?
Feeling good about this wash day! Sweaty workouts cause more wash days than CGM recommends, but progress is still happening. 💦washed with DevaCurl low poo. 💦DC (again!) but this time with Shea moisture manuka honey masque. It has protein in it and I thought that would be good...🤷♀️. Rinsed well and STC with DevaCurl one condition delight. 💦LOTS of curls blueberry leave in. I did sort of a semi seaweed method. 💦praying hands and scrunched in moptop curl custard and Aussie IF. I plopped, diffused and air dried on and off (a girl’s gotta work too, you know). Then, tried clapping out the crunch! Thank you, @reallifecurlygirl.

Pin curl tutorial for those rocking ringlets in the front. I find it's best to do it when my hair is damp, if my curls are too wet they set weird or are too water logged to hold the curl. I'm trying really hard to let those bitches in the front do their thing...but pin curling is a great option when I have somewhere nice to go! You can find her tutorial in my Curl friends highlight! 😘

I hesitated to post this video because I was so frustrated with my myself yesterday...I wanted to go down in weight because the next weight up is so damn hard for me! My mind was telling me I couldn't do it, my mind was telling me to stop trying and to just bust through the workout with a weight I was comfortable with.
Had it not been for my amazing trainer I think I would have!!! But she talked me off the ledge, pushed me to keep going, coached me and I was able to the majority of that workout with 2- 35lb kettlebells!!!!!! Thank you @garagegymdiva

I thought yesterday was Tuesday so why does today feel like Friday?!?! I'm exhausted! I worked a four-day trip and immediately took a cross-country flight to DC where I spent the next 30 hours talking all things curly girl while people watching in Dupont Circle with @diyraven

Haha So, I've been doing some research the last few weeks on the effects flying has on hair and while there is lots of information on the effects it has on your skin and nails there isn't a lot out there on hair. I decided over the next month or so of flying I'm going to be conducting a few experiments of my own and will report what I find! On a personal note - I've been struggling to find an exercise method that I actually ENJOY and can do regularly without feeling forced to do it. I really liked this Barre class and I'm planning to go back!! My whole body is sore today and I can tell I got a great workout 😄
This is a reminder that I have on my desk. I was recently talking to one of my friends @teedot____
about how hard it was to stay consistent with the gym. She responded that I should put as much effort in the gym as I do with m curls and that stuck with me. Those of you who have curly hair know how difficult this journey is and so it’s the gym. It’s all about staying consistent & trial and error. You won’t feel like going to the gym everyday and that’s ok. I don’t feel like doing my hair everyday either and that’s why sometimes it goes in a bun 🤷🏽♀️. Regardless of what stage you are in remember to love yourself & your journey 🦋🦋

My name is Sally aka @hispaneek.
I'm 28 (only for like one more week lol) years old. .
☀ My entire life, and I do mean my entire life, I've been very insecure about my body and struggled with my weight. I was always the chubby one, the one without a slim waist line, without much butt (in my culture big butts have always been welcomed), and the one with "pelo malo" (bad hair). I remember how depressed I got when I reached 120 pounds as a 14 year old. It was roughly around the time of that first picture.
☀ As you can see from the collage I've been going up and down in weight ever since I can remember. The irony is that I worked in the front desk of a gym for about 6 years but rarely worked out. I know, I know! What a waste of a free membership! I would go on and off the workout train but never stayed consistent for too long.
☀ 2016-2017 was the heaviest I've ever been. Reaching 180 lbs. I'm 5'7 and perhaps that doesn't seem that bad, but it was. I was definetely feeling horrible about myself.
☀ For lent this year I gave up a lot of my favorite things to eat and without working out I lost roughly 14 pounds. And as you may guess, once lent was over I started to gain again. It's always been either or for me. Either I was on a really strict diet and didn't work out or would work out but wouldn't pay attention to what I ate. I would lose more weight in the first option but I love food so those diets never lasted long.
☀ My hair journey started when chunks of my hair broke due to chemical processes in late 2016, then on April 2017 I decided to go natural and big chopped later that year.
☀ Now without the excuse of "can't mess up my straight hair with them #SallySweats
" (even though curly hair is a whole other story lol) and with the amazing group of curlies I've encountered here I am ready to get on that fitness train and stay on it! Let's do this! 💪🏽 .

Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner for Curly Hair. Detangled/added a little more conditioner to my ends to STC and left it all in!
On soaking wet hair, I added @officialkinkycurly
leave in & used a wet brush to distribute. Then I tried @mymanecurls
wet brush technique to form clumps and shake the curl in place.(Check out her videos!) I added Define Yourself Styling Balm also from Winsome and wisdom
And finished with @aussiehairusa
AIF before getting dressed. Air dried while I made the best protein coffee ever...check out my kitchn highlight
Then root clipped and pin curl clipped my wonky front piece like @curlicue_lu
shows in her video and Diffused using @thecurlyco
for 10 minutes.
With praying hands added W&W A Muse Me Volumizing Mousse
Put my make-up on and diffused for another 10 minutes.
Added more mousse (praying hands) and put some on top of my head where I was seeing a little frizz. Flipped my hair upside down and diffused the rest of the way.

Glow serum to SOTC. Really smoothing that front curl because woah Shirley!!! Overall impression... Great hair day who dis?!?! Haha

The Cream is light but definitely has hold.

All the products smell great without being overpowering and sadly I'm in love!

En el 2014 yo estaba comiendo muy desbalanceado, (como siempre) y como siempre fui flaca no me preocupaba por mi alimentación y no tenia idea de lo que era el ejercicio, en ese entonces tenia 22 años y cuando me vi al espejo me dije a mi misma, “ohh fuck” que gorda estoy, eres joven, no tienes hijos que sera de ti a los 30? Y fue cuando dije voy a hacer un cambio, y fue ahi cuando tome mi celular y empece a buscar todo tipo de información para bajar de peso y como alimentarme. Y por consecuente me inscribí al gym (sola) dije porque si voy con una amiga cuando ella no quiera ir pues yo tampoco. Desde entonces comencé a entrenar hice un déficit calórico extremo que en dos meses ya estaba super flaca, perdí mucha masa muscular, cero nalgas, cero piernas y parecía enferma, no porque comía mal sino por el déficit calórico mal distribuido y era muy restrictiva con mis comidas, luego recibí muchas críticas por mi peso y me sentía mal pues porque estaba demasiado flaca (como quiera es malo) , y fue entonces cuando dije necesito una dieta pero balanceada, y así lo hice, hoy soy feliz, como lo que quiero siempre y cuando no me exceda, y trato de comer lo mas saludable que puedo pero si me tengo que comer mis comiditas chatarra 🍔🍟 me las como sin miedo! Tengo unas celulitis que ya no me queda de otra que aceptarlas y quererlas, aveces se me salen unos chichos, que ya son parte de mi, y hay días que me da pereza y no quiero ir a entrenar pero aquí estamos, ya llevo 4 años en este estilo de vida, todo con determinación, esfuerzo y constancia se puede lograr! Sino díganmelo a mi! 💪🏼. Y tu cuantas mas excusas te vas a inventar para no hacer un cambio en tu vida??

I used to skip workouts cus I didn’t want to mess up my hair... who else has?
So Today my IG Live discussed how to save your curls during your workouts so you can get rid of that excuse too!
1️⃣ Wear your silk/satin bonnet while you workout ... less frizz from jumping and movement.
2️⃣ Pineapple your curls and wrap them up in a scarf... again less frizz from jumping and movement. PLUS if the scarf is tight on your edges it will soak up sweat 👌🏽.
3️⃣ Dry shampoo... if you really can’t stand the feeling of sweat in your hair send me a message, I have a dry shampoo you need! After your workout, part your curls in a few areas, spray each with dry shampoo and do a quick blast with the blowdryer... you’ll thank me later 😀.
