Have you ever noticed how well developed a boxer's abs and core are??? They have to be able to absorb intense blows to the midsection. One of the key muscles for this is the serratus anterior. This is the group of muscles right above your obliques and right below your lats.
The act of throwing a punch protracts the shoulder blade and elevates the shoulder girdle - a key function of this muscle.
This resistance band punch that @mommyalton
is doing is a excellent ab / core exercise. Place your feet inline to add extra challenge and requires full core engagement. Make sure at the end of your punch, you extend your shoulder blade to get full activation of the serratus anterior muscle.

This is from Monday but I thought it was kinda cute and I looked happier and healthier than I’ve felt over the past two days (viruses man, they’ll get ya). I’m also still super sore from my hiit/Ab day and it hurts every time I cough hahaha. I wanna train legs tomorrow but I don’t think that’ll happen unless I feel a lot better so tomorrow might be a chest day. I wanted to let you guys know tooo that I might not be posting as early/ as often coming up this next few days because I have exams and papers to work on but I will do my best! •
On another note, I’m going to be posting a stretching/ warm-up video tomorrow. It’s not something I normally would post but I think it’s super important and definitely something I plan on taking more seriously so you guys will have to check that out tomorrow! Goodnight y’all💖
