🎙READ PART 1 OF THE FEATURE FRIDAY WITH @ashelynnecosplay
(Interview continues in next post!)
🔹How did you first become interested in cosplay?
🔸I’ve been in theatre my whole life, so I have always loved being in costume and portraying a character. After coming home to Tulsa from working as a character performer for Disney World in Orlando, Fl, however, I had finally been bitten by the cosplay bug. Shortly after, I had my baby girl, and started crafting and making costumes for the both of us. I have been creating cosplays for us to do together ever since. Now I have a Fiancé and stepson to create for as well :)
🔹Do you cosplay simply for fun or because you’re pursuing a career in the field?
🔸Both!! I have always been a believer in finding what you love to do and figuring out how to make that work for you. Although it has been and always will be extremely hard work, I have been lucky enough to turn all of my passions into lucrative avenues of business. From art, to acting, to cosplay, I have always been able to find a job that incorporates it all, once I really knuckled down and made that a goal.
🔸I am definitely a Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter fan (mainly books, but enjoyed the movies as well). I also adore anything by Miazaki or Guillermo del Torro. Gaming-wise, I am definitely more of a third-person, open world type games like Zelda and WoW.
