Was bestfriend deadlift day today with @nb___
👫👫 now 200kg was not meant to be so 180kg will do at a body weight of 80kg pretty stoked 😬😬
Easy leg day today, didn’t want to do a full deload, so just pulled back on volume and intensity. First vid is 250x1. No belt or sleeves. That was my work weight last week. That’s what I’ve been trying to do, every 2nd workout squat my previous week’s work weight completely raw. Then did 260x2, and 280x1 which is 97% which was def an RPE 9. Still happy with how it moved though. Then backed off to 230 for 5 sets of 2 beltless. Back to hitting it hard after today. Legs again in 3 days.
I’ve been M.I.A. a lot lately. My bad y’all. I’ve been working out in the morning before work (if I’m able to drag my lazy bum out of bed) and always forget to film my lifts. And honestly, I haven’t deadlifting in months. Much less sumo deadlift 😅 I’ve never really mastered the form, but I ended up pulling 135lbs for 10 (second video) and 155lbs for 8 (first video). For being out of practice, I’m surprised how fast and easy these felt. Focused on tower to get shoulders loose. Want to get technique and weight shift down before moving on to mitt training - As for bench, the heaviest I went was 230lbs before failing 250lbs.
Deadlifts were from tonight and bench was from yesterday.
Slow eccentric deadlifts felt so much better than they have been. Narrowing my stance and moving away from the bar slightly seemed to do the trick! Got a little greedy with 435 only completing 2 out of 3 reps.
265 is the heaviest I’ve gone on close grip paused bench ever and managed a pretty easy triple. Thanks @ben.kalman
