My little dog — a heartbeat at my feet. - Edith Wharton
Words can not describe the desolate eerie place that is Death Valley. So quite and still, it feels like another world. .
Roaming around death Valley at twilight meant I had no where to hide and nothing to distract me. This kind of vast isolation gave me time and space to be alone with my thoughts. We're so used to the hustle and noise of cities that deafening silence can be a stark unsettling contrast. .
With no reception, no emergency services or petrol stations I can see why it's a favourite location for horrors. .
Perhaps the scariest thing is finally stopping for a moment to listen to ourselves. 👻
