Throwback to Shanghai x street stuff and tings.
Although I love being in Hong Kong, I am constantly missing Bangkok.
I promise a couple more from Banff 🏔
Some people asked if I was formally trained in photography. The answer is no. I only took a beginner’s photography class during university. I only took the course because it was an elective and I knew I’d get an easy A. I didn’t get an A tho. LOL. The class didn’t inspire me at all. Looking back, I wish I could’ve have done things differently. Maybe it wasn’t my time to get into photography but later down the road I found my interest in it like 4-5 years later.

We got to see Lake Louise after the fog rolled past us. I thought I’d never see it from the top but either way, I’d still be happy. I think this is the most beautiful hike I’ve ever done in my life. Being surrounded by this beauty and even when it rained it just made this a thousand times better. 😌
An old rugby injury flared up today, out of literally nowhere. Shoulder is all stiff now. Sitting at home instead of shooting this evening.
Anyway the story behind is slightly embarrassing and slightly hilarious and slightly pain empathy inducing in equal measures.
Okay so I played rugby for close to 10 years from about 10 1/2 until a month shy of my 20th birthday. During that time I came close to scoring a try a couple of dozen times. Mostly from simply being too tall I could easily get tackled before building up speed or breaking the line.
Also I wasn't the greatest ball handler, and didn't improve at that until I was about 18. So I didn't get many offloads to me.
Well in this game we were playing on this pitch just a little after it got water logged. The ground was soggy in patches.
I was having above average performance for me. And we were at this breakdown, and I was coming into the line when my scrum half popped it off to me. I break the first tackle from the prop and all I can see is open line from the 22 to my first try.
I am sprinting at nearly full stride so I should have enough speed in me in a moment to just finish it off. Except the scrum half who was the last possible person who could tackle me.
He leaps out and hand trips me. I am falling like an oaf in slow motion. My arms wrapped round the ball after the breaking the tackle. My knees are the only way i can fall without landing my face. Splat into a soggy patch of ground. My whole head jolts forward and backwards tearing all the ligaments in my shoulder. I had to be taken off immediately.
For the next month the only way I could look around was by moving my shoulders to the direction I wanted to look. My career as a rugby player in the cold ground in some pitch in munster.
