To make the best choice for sustainability, firstly, choose timber that is certified. Secondly, choose timber grown and produced in Australia. Choosing local over imported species ensures a smaller carbon footprint.
Forest certification shows that a timber product has come from a responsibly and sustainably managed forest. Tasmanian timber is certified under the internationally recognised PEFC, called Responsible Wood in Australia. When purchasing Tasmanian Timber, consumers can be confident that they’re getting a piece of timber from a forest that is certified sustainable.
