05/365 - Is PHP still a thing?
We also have to acknowledge here that PHP takes a bit over 80% of server-side languages used on the internet (fuck Wordpress) and something around 50% of the web pages are running some sort of PHP script. PHP is fast fo pick up, has a model that fits fine with the HTTP protocols ( stateless request/response), can be run everywhere, and has a great community. I think that to begin with PHP is not a bad choice, especially if you aim at being operational fast.
What do you guys think? Are you a PHP devs? What are your thoughts about the language? Is it still relevant? Would you keep using it? Let me know.
Project // Who's ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow? This year, I am especially thankful for amazing clients and my incredible team that supports me in all design endeavors.

Here's a peek at project #10
of 11 in my newest course, 3D Lettering in Procreate! In this project, we pack in LOTS of 3D tricks: an inner shadow, double color extrusion (with different heights), halftone extrusion shading and a soft, same direction long shadow. To pull it forward even more, we apply a pattern to our lettering, add in an outline and punch up the background with a texture and a soft glow. Check out the course + learn more via the link in profile or by heading to every-tuesday.com/3d-procreate ✨Also be sure to take a look at all the 😍INCREDIBLE😍 work others are creating under #3Dhustler
just showing off some of my fab photoshop brushes. wet paint studio brush 33 and pearlescent palette 6. enjoy 🤗🤓
I feel myself moving towards soft shapes and colors this season. Do you think what you are drawn to visually is symbolic of what you are seeking in your life? I definitely use these clues to guide me.
Hi pals! Today I wanted to talk a little bit about my process and how color informs and inspires my illustrations.
My process is usually like this:
-> Take a photo -> Pull colors and shapes for inspiration -> Create a digital illustration based on those concepts -> And, when possible, screenprint that illustration on paper or fabric
Earlier this week, I saw photographers sharing the hashtag #pantonechallenge
and wanted to share how I’ve been using the Pantone Studio to simplify and spice-up my palette-making process as an illustrator/printmaker. This isn’t a sponsored post, just a glimpse at how I collect and organize my color concepts and a spotlight of a free and accessible tool. If you made it this far, thanks for watching (; 🏆
The photos: I keep a photo account at @p_art_y____
where many of these photos can be found. I recently traveled to Alaska and was deeply moved by the scenery. When I got home, I made hundreds of palettes. For me, capturing the colors makes the memories more vivid and makes me feel connected to the place. I will often remember a location by its colors at whatever time I visited and/or how they relate or connect to others.
As winter settles in MN and I have more time to work on personal projects, it comforts me to know I can pull samples from those images and immediately feel transported back to those places. I also visit the forests of Northern, MN regularly for the same reasons, those are the places my mind goes when I’m drawing. What inspires you and your palettes? 🎨

Good design isn't trendy. It can stand the test of time and live forever.
Fear not if you have yet to decorate your Thanksgiving table, bar area or entry console. My favorite way to decorate ... hit the grocery store. Citrus is one of my favorites. But anything en masse makes a statement that is quite chic and perfectly uncontrived, in my opinion. Pears, cranberries, artichokes, chestnuts or apples are all perfect options. Cascade down the center of your table or pile into different bowls and intersperse with a few votives. Gather a few leaves and pinecones from the backyard. Done and done.
Now someone make me a martini 🍸

Daily UI 22 - Search. I decided to make a feature for Instagram that I would like to see. The idea is a search based on content, and the results showing you results per account, based on their content. NOT hastags, but content. Each account would be able to set (non-public) tags on their account, and on their posts. This information would be constantly updated using some kind of general tag combining algorithm to make sure it stays up to date. The results will show you what percentage of content matches the content type you searched for in terms of percentage, and the number of posts as well.
I have found that i search for pages and follow them and then i get pictures or content i don't want to see and then unfollow them. Using this info you can decide if you want to follow someone for long term content or not.
The Finissage collaboration between Studio RENS @madebyrens
and the furniture brand Pode @podedesignfurniture
was based on giving designers Renee Mennen and Stefanie van Keijsteren the opportunity to explore the capabilities of industrial spray coatings.
By adjusting multiple variables—the viscosity and transparencies of the paint, the distance from nozzle to surface, the opening size of the nozzle, etc.—the Studio RENS team created a series of finished pieces with saturations ranging from just-barely-there translucency to velvety depths. This process was employed on materials such as textiles, wood, glass and metal, with colors and surfaces layered, some with ombré effects.
Immediately following the Finissage presentation @dutchdesignweek
, the Studio RENS team were back at Pode, continuing research on the next steps to transforming some of these experiments into finished designs.
Mennen and van Keijsterenwere have worked together since 2008, both having previously attended the School of Fine Arts and Design in Breda. They are known for their expressive and inventive use of color in many of their projects.

This week we reflect and give thanks. I am thankful for many things, but in business very thankful for my trades. How they help me execute my vision and get my client what they want/need. Here is an example of my collaboration with Alluvium and the beautiful renderings they do from my original drawing .Thanks!
