This place called by various names like Hotel Ganesh, Ootinamane, Ajjanamane, Meals Ready was established in 1951.
It is currently run by the son of the owner Mr. Gopalakrishna, whom you can see in the second picture. (The grandpa)
People staying away from home will relate more to what I'm about to say. We miss the homely atmosphere, the food and more importantly the love with which the family serves us food.
This place reminded me of my grandparents serving food to me. The compassion, the smile on their face is enough to fill half of your stomach.
Oota in Kannada means Food and mane means house. They serve authentic south indian meals, hence served on banana leaves.
Palya (curry), Pickle, Dal, Sambar, Saru/Rasam, Appadam (Papadam/ Papad), Chilli Pakoda, Buttermilk and last but not the least Payasam- all these that were served, their taste was on point!
The best part is they keep coming to you to ask if you want to eat more, or if you need something else. (My personal favourite was the curry and sambar)
The feel of the place is something every person should experience atleast once.
A must must visit place!
Guess the price of the meals? Just 40/- bucks!! Rating: 4.2/5
Place: Ootinamane/ Hotel Ganesh, Parkala Centre, Opposite Hotel Sandhya (boarding and lodging)
