Swipe right 👉🏼 for full video: Today on the podcast- @jamesblickspain
- here’s a bit more behind the story of Devour with cofounders @jamesblickspain
, Lauren Aloise aka @spanishsabores
and Alejandro Cabrera. In the pod, James shares his passion for helping people get to know the stories and people behind the food and bars- instead of selling people a magical unreal vision of Spain. There’s so many gems in the interview today about running a business- things like the importance of valuing your time and how you spend it and charge for it, sitting down and doing the work and persevering to get where you want (it’ll probably take you longer than you first thought 😉), taking action, not being a perfectionist with the content you put out and having a conversation with your audience to name but a few of the 💎 s. *link in bio to the episode* or search for Project Pod on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or Stitcher.
Thanks again to James for his time and sharing his valuable insights and also to @gtslifestyle
for their questions in this episode.

New pod out tomorrow 🎉🍽🍷Loved sitting down with @jamesblickspain
to hear about his process of co-founding Devour Tours with @spanishsabores.
A little extract from the interview here with James talking about how he started travel writing on the road to creating Devour; we talked about the importance of perseverance in order to achieve what we want. Interview out tomorrow - link will be in bio or search for Project Pod on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher or Radio Public.

NO ME GUSTA: lo siento pero no me gustan los mariscos. Seafood. I just can’t. I was born and raised in the Midwest farrrr from any ocean, and I just never picked up a taste for it even in all my travels. 🦐
However. If YOU like mariscos I HIGHLY recommend you go to Spain and be sure to do a food tour with @devour_tours.
Spain (probably?) has some of the best seafood dishes in the world. 🦑
Where is your favorite place to get seafood? What is your favorite seafood dish? 🦀
d i s c o v e r i n g and tasting Spain like a local with @devour_tours
last week. Their philosophy that great food doesn’t just happen, feels particularly relevant in an age of chain restaurants and factory farming (I shudder at the number of Starbucks we encountered). Behind great food are hard working families whose passion keeps local food traditions alive. Our fun and informative tour, geared towards the niños, was lead by the well-travelled/multi-lingual Lior, who had all kinds of kid-friendly tricks up her sleeve. An Israeli chef and sommelier, she had Atticus and Archer enthralled from the get go. She shared her personal passion for Spanish food by highlighting the cities history through it’s cuisine, it’s people and their stories. We all fell a little bit more in love with Barcelona - and it wasn’t just because of the original cronut we tasted at our first stop (called a Xuixo - incidentally, invented in 1920’s). If you are a hungry and curious traveler with tots in tow - the private kids walking tour was a definite trip highlight for the whole fam! #devourspain #devourbarcelona #becurious #devourtours
For the ultimate foodie trip in Spain, I recommend visiting the northern coast - particularly to the #BasqueCountry
, which boasts the #RiojaAlavesa
If you enjoy great meat, cheese and vino, this is the place for you. Oh, and of course there are the pintxos of #SanSebastián
and Michelin-started marvels of @BilbaoTurismo
to seek out!

It seems that we are celebrating The Tapas Day today so that... Remember that you can find our most famous recipes of Spanish tapas ever at @schooloftapas
🇪🇸 Parece que hoy celebramos el Día mundial de la Tapa. Recuerda que en School of Tapas tenemos las recetas de las mejores de España.
Delicious “banderillas” and the world’s largest vermouth... Love discovering awesome little hidden bars, even if I’m the youngest client here by a few generations 😍
Salted 👏 Marcona 👏 almonds. It doesn’t get better than this.
Be completely honest—this presa iberica from #Seville
is making you hungry, isn't it? 😍
Nothing is better than starting the week with a slice of melt-in-your-mouth Iberian ham.
Rainy streets of Madrid 💧☔️
We dream about this amazing green garlic omelette bocadillo! It's bursting with flavors. Have you tasted this Catalan speciality?
Churros or toast for breakfast? We’ll take both! 🍫🥖😍
Mario’s shop was one of the very first stops we had on tour in Madrid! Sadly, his doors will be closing at the end of December. We’ll miss him (and his beautiful neighborhood shop!) very much. Check out our Instagram story for more! ❤️❤️❤️
Uno de mis pintxos preferidos del fin de semana en San Sebastián. Pan frito con cebolla caramelizada, sardina y ajo frito. Un bocado de alegría para enfrentar la lluvia de la calle. 👌🏻😋☔️
Still devouring Valencia, but we’ve moved accounts! Join the movement at @devour_tours

Anybody for some chocolate! It is the time of year to enjoy, right?! 😍
Sierras de Malaga Verdejo wine, typical cured Payoyo goats cheese and Moscatel raisins. Is there anything better than this?
There’s always time for a quick cava and cheese break! What is your favorite thing to enjoy during a quiet moment of tour day?
It’s the perfect time of year for wild mushrooms in Spain. This plate of sautéed Boletus mushrooms from a local restaurant in Granada is enough to make our mouth water 😍🍄
The special way they present the fish!!
This family was all smiles on our Madrid Kid's Tour. We love when parents bring their kids along on their travels. It's such a fun way to teach them about new cultures! When are you bringing your family to Spain? 🇪🇸
