Cloudy night, or it might have just been her mind.
Anyways, cloudy, tired, hungry.
Another long day ending as the next one began.
Closed stores and the only light source: flickering street lights, 7Eleven.
And the Ramen Restaurant she had never been to before.
Stepping in, the light, almost too bright for her to even see.
But she sat, ordered, yawned, cursed the never-ending cycle that was her boring life.
Clouding and fogging up her mind even more than the steam inside the Ramen Restaurant
She had never been to before.
Slurping and slurring she stared into her soup, as if trying to completely dissolve into it.
Before suddenly, she turned and looked.
At him, who was dipping gyoza into his soy sauce and looked -
Right back at her.
And suddenly, the clouds seemed to clear up.
And suddenly, the night was shining bright with stars.
And suddenly, she wasn’t cursing the never-ending cycle that was her boring life
But thanking the Ramen Restaurant
She had never been to before. •
