Fusion is the safe zone of restaurants who want to add specials or be trendy. More often than not an enthusiastic 'inspired' chef will go to great lengths and create dishes which are so out of the box, you are pretty much left confused. When @skoranne
teamed up with the good folks at @potpourriworld
her finesse and attention to detail were inevitable through the Laii Bhaari menu of her popup. A bestselling author and one whose breads I would travel across the world for, digs up her Maharashtrian roots and brings an incredible experience on the table. Thalipeeth Tostadas with Peru Koshimbir, crispy Sabudana Poppers with a Thecha Dip. There was a Faraali Misal in the form of a Maharashtrian bowl (mixed up table side), a delicate Pathare Prabhu prawn pie (Shepherd's Pie style). The Orange Karvas (colostrum, first form of cow milk) with Dink Crumb and Kaakvi was a fitting finish to this excellently put together meal. Thanks Saee for your cooking, you do enrich our foodscape. The popup is on at Pot Pourri branches (Chembur & Vashi) from 21st Sunday for 4 days.
