Update Your Website, Or Build A New One?How do you know when it’s time to make an update to your current website, or just start the whole thing over again? Building a new site requires more work than an update, but depending on the circumstances, it could be the best option for your small business and Internet Marketing plans..
Your website isn’t mobile responsive
Verdict: Update .
At one point, mobile responsiveness required an entirely different website; now, your back end can adjust to the screens of mobile visitors. It’s a bit of work to add to an existing site, but these days, it‘s an absolute necessity. Tools can update the code your site already uses so that a new site doesn’t have to be built from scratch. Google even has a free tool that lets you see how easy it is to access and interact with your website on a mobile device. Remember, most sites lose more than half their visitors while loading. Try it out yourself!
Your website is on a DIY site
Verdict: Build a new one .
DIY websites offer limited options, lower security, and less optimization. You don’t get to control the look, layout, or feel of the website, and to get even an inch, you have to pay extra. Building a flexible and versatile website with a digital media company gives you control over the look and feel, from the colours to the pages to the fonts. This means moving from a DIY service to something built from scratch!

Sept 2018 Maui market stats coming in hot on our YouTube channel
Do you Like Green Eggs & Ham? Would you eat them in a house? Would you eat them with a mouse? Would you eat them here or there? Would you eat them ANYWHERE? 🍳 Who remembers the very persistent Sam-I-Am? Well here is a fun fact
Did you know this famous kids book is a sales book? You may think I have lost my marbles but nope hear me out. Could you, would you hear me out? If I explain it with a mouse? .... Sorry got carried away, back to the story
In this book Sam-I-Am sold the other character on eating green eggs and ham at least 14 times until he agreed to finally tried them and behold he LOVED them. Shocker 🥚
When it comes to selling a product or service, people are skeptical based on lack of knowledge or past experiences. When you are selling something you don’t have to be as pushy as Sam-I-Am but you want to try and get the client/customer to tell you WHY they won’t buy from you
A good rule is to have them try it, it sounds simple enough but it is not always the case. Many times samples, free gifts or free consultations or the best way to have a client/customer get familiar with your business and product and determined if they will like it or not
So be persistent. Not about your paid products or services but about having them try your product or service out free of charge and commitment. You will see a BIG difference in your closing ratio
Now tell me what is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?

Being your own boss takes a lot of self-motivation, time, and hard work. We love seeing our clients faces light up as we help bring their businesses to life with a brand of their own 💚
October when everybody’s thoughts are: Fall weather (unless you’re in Florida), Pumpkin Spice Everything, Halloween 🎃BUT if you are in the e-commerce business, specially apparel and accessories then you should be thinking CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁 yes I said it CHRISTMAS
Believe it or not studies show that at least 60% of people start Christmas shopping WEEKS before Christmas. And if your business is strictly online this means for you to get sales you need to be prepared as online shoppers will only buy if they know items will arrive on time
Now here is the awesome trick to get those sales to hit the roof these next few weeks. Ready? *Drum Rolls Please* ............. OUTFITS
People want to cross out as many items in their list as possible in ONE place. And if you are a boutique that sales apparel and accessories or if you only sale one or the other. The best way to increase that ROI is by creating outfits and promoting them
People are most likely to buy a full outfit that they see on a mannequin at a store than building an outfit while shopping around. The reason for this is people want everything fast and accessible. They also want to see how things will look before they buy it. So by showing them your accessories paired with different outfit styles or by creating a full outfit with different items in your store you are increasing the chances of having a person spend $100+ vs $20 .
⭐️ Now raise your hands if you have a Christmas countdown or if it just me? 🙋🏼♀️
Getting in our last hours at the farmers market before Winter officially hits... really going to miss the locally sourced lavender tea and honey sticks 🍯 💜
This is not the story of where I tell you how much money I have made or how many clients I have had or how successful I am.
This is the story of where I tell you what it really means to be an entrepreneur. Where I tell you that it takes a LOT of strength and resilience.
I started my journey when I was in high school when I didn’t even know what the word “entrepreneur” meant. After high school I moved on to the “real world” until I saw was pregnant with my second child two years ago when I was let go of my job because I was pregnant and couldn’t get hired because well I WAS PREGNANT, nobody wanted to hire someone that was going to be leaving in a few months.
I tried to start my first business. A complete FAIL, after baby was born found a job. Then due to a mix of circumstances being a mom and having a 9-5 had become a problem once again. I was forced to try and turn a hobby into a business as I need a more flexible schedule as well as an income. First 3 months I got 13 sales. We are talking less than $600 in three months
I kept failing and failing and failing, or at least that is how it felt at the time. But I chose to rise and to learn from my mistakes. I stopped comparing myself to others, I stop measuring my idea of success based on other people’s accomplishments and MADE IT HAPPEN.
However, it wasn’t a magic wand. I worked hard and still do. I cannot remember last time I had a full 8 hour or even 6 hour sleep. I have cried tears of stress and exhaustion more times that I can count. I’ve had times where I think “is this even worth it”. This journey is not easy but it is worth to see all your hard work flourish. To see the impact your work has in someone else’s life. We all post our wins, today I felt like posting what it took for me to get some of those wins #entrepreneurmindset
I managed to catch @russ
speak at Forbes 30 Under 30 on the topic of DIY marketing. In this clip, he was asked, what's your favorite skill you possess? Persistence and patience.
He’s someone who has grown on me musically, but I only knew of him from a marketing perspective before. For those who don't know, he basically released a song once week for 2 years. From December 2011 to August 2014, Russ released 11 albums and 87 singles consecutively all for free on Soundcloud. That is a lot of music that he wrote, produced, mixed, mastered and engineered myself himself, but that's how he ultimately broke through with one song that took off after starting from scratch to now partnering with Columbia records.
In this content saturated digital age, his success reaffirms the fact that it's crucial to be able to keep pushing out good content consistently. In addition, you need patience. Even then, there’s no guarantee but the more you put out, the better your chances.
I wanted to share as a reminder that whatever it is you are trying to build or pursue, patience is so important. Even with what I'm trying to build, I know it's going to take awhile. It’s only been 2 years. I consider myself a patient person so I don't think it's issue for me because I just so happen to be interested in how to live like longer and stay young. But still, I have to remind myself because I can get ahead of myself at times and focus on too many thing once. Just have to take things one step at a time.

mistake of many business owners as well as sales professionals is that they want to sell to EVERYBODY. They want the 💰💰 and when that happens you get nothing. No sales, no leads and tons of frustrations
When you decide to create or sell a product/service you need to be specific to what type of consumer benefits from this. You see some people are natural consumers. They just love to spend money and they will buy from whatever kool-aid you sell them whether it benefits them or not. And if that is okay with you then you may skip this post. If you are not here is some food for thought
You are a customer and you want to buy some new candles. So you go to Bed, Bath & Beyond. The sales associate keeps trying to sell you body lotions because it has a higher ticket price and ignores what you NEED. So as a customer you may get annoyed and simply walk away without even buying the candles you needed
Now picture the same scenario except this time the sales associate guides you through the candle section and asks about what type of scent do you like, what size of candle, what is the purpose of the candle and then proceeds to also show you different options including air fresheners matching your candle smells for your car. Now you are most likely to buy the candles and all the add ons because the sales associate asked the right questions, understood your problem and gave you several solutions aimed to what you were looking for and needed
Moral of the story is you need to ask the right questions. Communication is KEY in any business and specially when it comes to trying to close a sale. We often focus so much on the sales and revenue we forget about the customer service and that is the key element that makes it or breaks it for at least 90% of consumers

Are you an Entrepreneur? Are you a Business Owner? Or are you as many other people confused as to what the difference of these two even is? 💼
In general both are own a business, obviously. I think “Business Owner” is more of a job title while “Entrepreneur” is a mindset. Meaning, what sets them apart is the style in leadership and thoughts in running a business. You see a small business knows their business and target audience and work to serve their customers. An entrepreneur dreams big, they go outside of the comfort zone. They explore different techniques and ideas and get excited with testing the unknown
A business owner is constantly thinking and planning with numbers and logics. What makes sense, what’s coming next and where is it coming from. For example, if they launch a marketing campaign they want to know what will be the end result. An entrepreneur loves the risk, they will dive in with both feet. They take the risks that they feel will take their business to a new level without knowing the outcome but that the risk will be worth it in the end
Now here is a very important one. A business owner usually have a ONE business mentality. They know their business and they want to grow that business with a “I am never selling” mentality. Meanwhile, an entrepreneur plans their business in a way that if the opportunity comes and they get a good deal they will sell and go on to the next project. An entrepreneur main focus is to keep growing and help others do the same
There is no one is better than the other. But more of a the economy needs both. So now my question is, are you a Business Owner or are you an Entrepreneur? 👇🏽
So I have to say, branding my OWN company is THE HARDEST thing I've ever had to do - what colors do I pick, what font looks the best, does the name of my company mean anything to anyone else or just me? Doodles, to me, brings up many fun and exciting memories. You see, growing up my parents nicknamed me Doodles. I have NO idea why, because I was never much of a drawer/doodler/scribbler and I am T E R R I B L E at drawing anything other than stick figures - ask my group of girlfriends about the drawings I used to send to the Art Department for newspaper ads. Not only do I still go by that nickname, I have poodle mixes; an Aussiedoodle and a Labradoodle. It seems like I can't get away from the "doodle" in many different forms..so why not include it in another and brand my company with something that means so much to me?! I guess the cat, or the dog, is officially out of the bag and we're ready to actualize creative thoughts! :) #doodlesbm #brandoptimization #brandmanagement #marketing #marketingstrategy #diymarketing
Are you using your personal profile instead of a business page on Facebook? 🤔 If you are I am here to tell you it is time to STOP
We have all seen and noticed algorithm changes to Facebook (it is inevitable). So many people are opting to ignore or not make a business page and use their personal profile to promote their business and sales to their friends and family. Now here is why I am telling you it is time to stop
Facebook is emphasizing friendship and real connections. Therefor, they are actually blocking or deleting personal profiles that are constantly promoting their business or selling from their personal accounts because they are considering SPAM
Do not risk losing your account or being blocked from Facebook for something that can be fixed by having a business page instead
Here are some tips to help get your business page seen:
• Like the post and share your business page posts on your personal occasionally
• Facebook Ads, they are still very affordable so take advantage of them while you can • Depending on your service/product, create a business group and ONLY invite people that you know will benefit from the content, products/services provided and are part of your target audience
• Interact, no matter if it is only one comment out of 20 post interact and respond. This will increase the chances your content shows on people’s feed ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 What do you use to promote your business, Personal profile or business page? #facebook
Here’s the thing, if you sit down and wait for things to happen they never will. This is a common thing we all do, in our personal and professional lives
I talk with so many business owners and entrepreneurs and you want to know what is the #1
problem they come to me with is? “HOW DO I GET MORE CLIENTS/SALES”. However, when I ask what are they doing to get more clients/sales they don’t have an actual answer. And here is why
Many believe that once you have a business up and running the sales will come through the door. Other believe that once you have a business and spend thousands of dollars in marketing your bank account will be exploding with money. And sorry to burst the bubble but that is WRONG ⚡️
Here is where I give you some tough love, You need to put in the work. You need to reach out to people, you need to build relationships and most importantly you NEED to ask for the sale. Having strong marketing strategies are great and needed to get your business some reach but it does not do the sales for you. Whether you have a product based or service based business
It took me a long time to learn this. I used to hide and be afraid to advertise my own business when I first started and I had been working in marketing for years. I was scared because I was “small” and I felt that was going to make people not take me seriously. But boy was I wrong, I got out of my shell after 2 months and did a solid 8k in ONE MONTH. That is right 8k in just ONE MONTH and now I am ready to spill the tea and help you do the same
I have developed a 7 step program to help you get 5k or more months consistently by:
✔️Helping you define your brand “Why choose You instead of someone else?”
✔️Helping you identify your target audience
✔️Creating a clear and powerful marketing and sales strategy ⚡️
Are you ready to take the next step? Send me a DM or an email for more information. Only a few spots opened for October so act now before it’s too late 📩📩

I have now added Certified NLP Practitioner to my list of certifications and trainings to help my clients and most importantly myself experience better growth in not only my personal life but business life
Now what is NLP? Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is psychological approach that involves analyzing strategies relating to perceptual, behavioral and communication techniques used by successful individuals to reach a goal

A few weeks ago I received a text message from a small business owner I had met a few times, but didn’t know all that well. She was feeling overwhelmed and under-educated about social media and wanted to know if I would take her on as a management client. She has an amazing line of natural, locally made beauty products and was in the process of scaling up her business. However, she had a backlog of products she was feeling pressured to sell and because her time was being spent on the scaling of the business, she hadn’t had anyone looking after the social media marketing for a while. Her content would be easy…she has goats! Goats are the new cats on social media.
What were the things I considered in deciding whether or not to sign this client? Did I sign this client? twirp.ca/blog to check it out!
