Annabelle Part I
Creepy and simply too unnerving to be in the same room with, Annabelle is one of the most frightening members of the Conjuring films; a possessed porcelain doll with a frozen, sinister grin. In real life, however, the doll was actually your vintage Raggedy Ann, but we can assure you that this minor difference between the film and reality, will in no shape or form, downgrade the story's spookiness.
In 1970, 28-year-old, Donna, received Annabelle as a birthday gift from her mother, who had purchased the doll from a hobby store. Donna shared an apartment with her roommate, Angie, and seeing that the girls were both nurses, they were constantly out working - leaving Annabelle all alone.
Everything seemed pretty normal with the doll, but quite often, one of the girls would notice that Annabelle had been repositioned; from laying flat on the bed to sitting upright, hands on lap and with legs crossed. This didn't really strike any suspicion, seeing that the most reasonable explanation was a poor track of memory.
This all changed when the girls arrived home one night to find Annabelle sitting on the living room couch, which wouldn't have been an issue if this was where they had placed the doll before they left. The both of them turned towards their friend, Luo, who hated the doll, as he felt something was wrong with it - something evil. He recommended consulting a medium about Annabelle, however, both girls dismissed the idea; they were both rational women and didn't believe such things.
The two continued on with their lives, not realising this was all only just the beginning. Later on, Donna had begun finding anonymous notes throughout her apartment. They were all written on pieces of parchment, paper neither one of the girls owned. Each one had been scribbled with the same, repetitive message, in childish handwriting. "Help us". #Annabelle #Creepy #Unnerving #Doll #Spooky #Horror
