🛁🧖🏼♀️🙌This is Mia sitting in her first bath after 6 weeks of not being allowed in! Today was cast removal day & the first thing she wanted to do was have a proper bath 😄
Her buckle fracture has pretty much all healed, they can still see it but not enough to warrant plaster for another 6 weeks...so the doctors told her to be careful & so have we but let’s see how long that lasts with Mia the pocket rocket. 😬 Fingers crossed for no more accidents, just have to keep her leg safe until January now 🙏

- The little girl on this picture is Elizabeth, one of the children in my orphanage home.Elizabeth was rescued from her mother who was using her to beg for alms under the bridge in Lagos and also renting her out to other street beggars to use to beg for alms from time to time. Her mother has been at large and all efforts to reach her have been impossible thus far
Elizabeth was rescued by Lagos State officials from her mother & brought to our home at about 9months old. When Elizabeth arrived our home, we were initially told that she was a boy but we discovered that she is a girl. After torror medical check up we were also told that Elizabth is a special child as she will be unable to walk.
We put her through a therapy & eventally Elizabeth started walking at about 2yrs old.
However, when Elizabeth was 1yr 6months old, we noticed that Elizabeth was not responding to sound, we continued observing till she was 2yrs old, she could make inconsistent sounds with her mouth but she was yet to say her first word like her mates at home who were already pronouncing a few words.
We took her to the Nigerian Army Audiological Centre and after several tests, we were informed that Elizabeth has 30% hearing. Hearing aids & syrups were preacribed to boost her hearing to enable her hear. Once she can hear, we could proceed to do a therapy for her to speak as her speech is impaired only because she cannot hear words so she cannot reproduce them.
Elizabeth is now 5years+ old,she stays in our home with 23 other children and it breaks her heart to watch other children go to school daily while she watches them, babies that joined the home after her grow & resume school and each day she cries bitterly as she bids them goodbye. Her chances of being adopted are also very slim as most adopters will not take special children.
Help Elizabeth hear & speak for the first time, use the gofundme link above to donate to Elizabeth's hearing aid & speech therapy. The goal is only $3000.

This October 2018 a short visit to the Himalayas will be happening with a small group #to
be travelling and hand giving out blankets shoes coats water bottles filters ect in preparation for this coming winter
For the last 3 years we have been collecting any unwanted clothes .. and sending them directly to the villages in the Himalayas .. this has beeen a great help ..
By the stage of which we are at
We need more help
It costs us a lot of money to send over the clothes blankets shoes ect from Europe : and we feel it would be much easier to collect 'money' so we can be in Indian state and actually buy what is needed .. this way .. we will be able to be more mindful and creative with our giving back services
If you have any interest at all
Please send us a message here or directly to

UK to Sicily Run Day 80: What a day today was. After wild camping in the mountains I headed down past wild horses, cows and bulls (with the sharpest horns I've ever seen). At one point a pack of three big stray dogs ran up to me and one of them got behind me and lunged for my ankle, I managed to dodge it and shouted and waved my arms until they ran off.
I ran down the desolate mountain road for around 15km until I reached the small town of Rofrano. The streets were filled with old men playing cards on plastic tables, everyone was so animated it looked as though they were teetering on the precipice of either hugging or fighting to the death.
My route took me off the roads for a while and onto a long mountain trail, I thought about the possible mountain dogs and whether or not to stick out the extra 4km on the road. Then I went with the footpath instead. Dogs, weasles and lizards ran from the path as they heard me bounding along. I had a bad feeling and I kept my eyes peeled on the path. A few hundred metres later the long grass shook and out slithered a poisonous adder. I couldn't get off that path sooner.
Back on the road people would wind their windows down constantly and ask if I wanted a ride. One guy even waited at a corner for me for maybe 10 minutes, I thought he was waiting for someone else and ofcourse I can't take a ride, so I ran past. He then shot past me as fast as he could waving his arms and shouting, later he passed me again going the opposite way and cut in close to make me run up the embankment. It made me realise that if you try to do something nice for someone, and they bruise your ego (inadvertently or not), don't let it turn you into a bad person.
Other notable parts of the day: I was stopped by the police searching for a wanted man, a friendly Romanian builder insistently gave me more pears than I could carry, I found a little stray puppy in an derelict factory, groups of abandoned collared dogs sat at the side of the road 😪, i found a guy in daisy dukes drinking beer outside a warehouse covered in underwear, I was allowed to camp for free next to the beach by some lovely women.
The Haitian people love music. This orchestra was founded in 1948 where people used to enjoy a mellow sound. The culture has changed and become more colourful with a variety of different sounds. However the sound of the drums is still at the core of our culture and brings communities together #caribbeanmusic
