These used to be a piece of cake for me but after a year of not practicing I forgot how to do it and it was really frustrating. I was persistent and I can once again do kip ups 😛
Sometimes when I give my clients a new exercise or movement that is out of their comfort zone, I’m met with resistance. They say things like “ I can’t do that”, or “ I’m not strong enough for that” or my favourite “ sid, are you crazy?!” ... and yes, I am a little crazy but sometimes you just have to put fear aside and just do it.
Don’t be afraid of falling, don’t be afraid of embarrassing yourself, don’t be afraid of what others think about you or what they say. It’s YOU VS YOU, no one else.
Try new things, push yourself to the limit, get out of your comfort zone, be creative, be silly and don’t be afraid of failure.
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
