People of all walks of life need a little push usually. Don't be afraid to be their Leonidas and Sparta their ass over the edge of contemplation. Speak your mind and help people see their strengths, but also to work on their weaknesses.
WHY READ THE BIBLE PT. 1) Even though reading the Bible is hard, I do it because I want to know God. I’ve been getting questions about why we should even read the Bible & how I make sense of it (because it can be confusing) so here’s my best stab at some answers: (this is long so I’m going to it in 2 parts)
If you want to go deeper in your relationship with God, you have to get to know Him. Just like how spending time with someone & talking to them strengthens your relationship with them, spending time with God & talking to Him strengthens your relationship with Him! And you do that by reading His word & talking to Him (praying).📖🙏🏽
As Jesus followers we believe that the Bible isn’t just a collection of cool stories, but that it’s actual living truth & Gods message to us. “In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the word WAS GOD.” John 1:1 ☝🏽
The Bible is a love letter God left for us to know His heart, His will, & His plan to save us. It’s a guidebook for life, a flashlight to make it through dark & the reassurance that there is hope & a better way to live.❤️🔦 ⠀

Yesterday was spent sleeping (of course 🤷🏼♀️) but today I hit the ground running, pouring through books and school supplies donated by state finalists. I am preparing backpacking filled with school supplies to be given to foster children at the start of school while the books will be donated to the Early Learning Coalition and The Heart of Florida. How has National American Miss inspired you to volunteer and give back to your community? 💙
Super thankful for these folks becoming a part of the FirstPres church fam this past Sunday. They all have been such an encouragement to me and my family...it is a sheer gift to do life and mission with such good friends.

For the açaí, blend 1 packet frozen açaí, 1/3 banana, 1/4 c. blueberries, up to 1/4 c. apple juice.
Then add the toppings of your choice.
I used almond butter, paleo granola, bananas, strawberries, more blueberries, chia seeds, and sunflower seeds.

This day was so much fun! We paddle boarded on string lake!The water was oh so clear, it was boiling hot and we had the best company. What more could you ask for?😍

I’m trying to learn more about WHY foods are good to eat instead of just eating them because I heard they were healthy. Knowing that blueberries are full of fiber, vitamin C & all these other magical things makes me so much more excited to eat them & throw them in all my recipes. Eating healthy is easier when you know why the food is good for you & what it will do to your body if you eat it. 🙌🏽 ⠀

Another good workout with my Costa Rican friends. I’ve always thought I could lead a session but this is really my first time, consistently. I’m using my workouts from when I started and I’m reading their fatigue to know when to push or back off. Overall enjoyable and they are really doing well.
It’s definitely more fun with a group.
