Day 13 – 13 mins of skipping Want a cardiovascular workout that doesn’t require you to go anywhere, or a big bit of kit? Skipping is a great option. For an 80kg male, 13 minutes of skipping at a moderate pace (100 skips per minute) with 2 foot contacts burns up to 200kcal. For a 60kg female, the energy burned is around 160kcal. Efficient technique is important if you are to sustain skipping for any length of time. Make sure the rope is the correct length – the bottom of the handle should reach your armpit when standing on the rope ready to start. Try to keep a vertical body position at all times, with elbows in. Landing on your forefoot will allow you to absorb the impact, whilst making it easier to spring up for the next skip. Give double-unders a try if you want a challenge! What do you get when you combine a band, a dip belt (belt with a chain), and a 75# sandbag into one exercise? A weighted banded march! Never heard of it🤷🏾‍♀️ but I loved it. 🤩💪🏾. It was tough but awesome. Some of the best workouts I’ve done have been on a semi-empty stomach or fasting. Say today for example... I ate a banana at 6am, a good bfast at 7:30am (2 eggs over easy, avocado, bacon and coffee), and worked out at noon. I did better than I expected... Rx’d all 150 Wall balls, 500 Double Unders, and finished with a 345# deadlift x 2. Yes, I was highly caffeinated with the preworkout and e-shot, but I have a good tolerance for caffeine... thanks Erica Colón-Pérez 😘 I haven’t been lifting a lot lately since I’ve been more focused on cycling every weekend with Randall Obando training for Ironman Oceanside. Which goes to show what Chris Hinshaw teaches on the Aerobic Capacity seminar that there’s a direct correlation between cardiovascular endurance and power output. And speaking of fasting, my friend Joe Canale has a lot more experience on it and ran 10 miles recently on an empty stomach. Woke up to coaching by the lovely @km_carasiti who has been mia for awhile being deathly ill. 100 DU 50 American KBS 53/35 (I did 25#) 50 TTB (I did GHD) 50 box jumps 24/20” (I did men’s height) 50 alternating KB snatches 53/35# (I did goblet squats 35#) 50 double rack lunge steps 53/35# (I did it!) 100 DU Took me a little over 21 minutes. I feel good about modifying the movements. Las empuñaduras deberían llegar a la altura de la axila. . . 🔹El truco para pasar la cuerda dos veces mientras saltas una sola vez está en darle velocidad a la cuerda. Esa velocidad parte del movimiento de tus muñecas. Piensa que son ellas las que tienen que ir rápidas, no tus pies. . . 🔹Mantén las manos delante de ti, donde puedas verlas y que no se posicionen por detrás del eje de tu cuerpo. Cuando se van para atrás las manos será más probable que tropieses. . . 🔹Si son tus primeros intentos es importante que saltes bastante alto para que te dé tiempo a pasar la cuerda dos veces. Conforme pase el tiempo verás que no necesitas gastar tanta energía en los saltos. . . 🔹Muchas personas recomiendan hacer saltos simples y después uno doble, e ir combinando. Sin embargo también puedes intentarlo desde el primer brinco y hacerlo doble. .
