I’ve gotta tell you guys real life is so..... classic! Here I was so excited to finally take a vacation for just a few days and just breath some real fresh air!! Well, we got to our destination like 8 hours later than planned, the hotel did not have a crib for the baby, we had to run to Walmart to get a pack n play at 11:30 pm only to lay awake with a screaming baby all night long. I’m sure you’re smiling reading this because I know you all know what I mean!!
After waking up to 3 coughing kids (after a 6:00 am nap) the last thing I felt like doing was get dressed and go see attractions.
But that’s the thing about #momlife
- sometimes (aka lots of times) you just gotta do it! Put on a big smile and go do it! And somehow the memories are made and the smiles are infectious and we have a great time! It’s a choice we make every time we’re zonked or sick and say I’m gonna do it anyway, for them and for me! And like you all know, the payoff is always there!
So no, it did not start off like the dream vacation I had painted for myself, but at the end of a long tired day I feel proud and happy for overcoming another obstacle and creating memories I will treasure!

Made chicken tacos/quesadillas for the kids so made myself a taco salad using same chicken and salsa as dressing. Not too bad actually. #dowhatyougottado #tacotuesday
Life tip: put stickers over your messes 😛😂
That moment you realize you've been carrying around a poopy diaper in your purse all day because at this morning's doctor appointment you didn't have a bag, so you stole a plastic glove. P.S. it worked. No smell 🤷🏼♀️
We're kicking off our week of love with this inspiring quote 💕
Stay tuned as we have some extremely exciting news to share with you all!
Yesterday I went in to the test kitchen to make the biga (a preferment starter) for the Herb Bread. The pumpernickel container was trapped in a river of ice down the back wall of the freezer. So at 4:45 the tool of choice was the hammer 🔨 I keep in my tool box at work. Living my chef motto: when it comes to getting it done, I will not be denied. Oh, and the bread is good, too😉. #kingarthurflour #bread #herbs #dowhatyougottado #bake
Life will require sacrifices that pride will hold us back from. Our ego will convince us that we’re right in holding on. ⠀
We all fall into the hands of our pride and ego at one point or another. People around us, who are usually just trying to be supportive, may reinforce our pride and agree with our ego. ⠀
They will deteriorate our lives, pin us down and hold us there if we let them. ⠀
Fight back. ⠀
We’re never stuck. We just have to be willing to do what, deep down, we know we need to. 👊 #egoistheenemy
❤ Thanks everyone for helping me make the new shop a success!

Perhaps it’s because all four of my children have Native ancestry. Perhaps it’s because I simply enjoy the legend of the dream catcher. Either way, self care is essential and we do what we have to do in order to feel better. For many years, this massive dream catcher has hung near my bed, its feathers waving a friendly hello near my open window. With complex ptsd, night terrors are a reality, but it’s comforting to think that many of those terrors have been captured in a delicate web hanging loosely above my head. Is it real? Probably not. Is it comforting? Most definitely. If our spirituality, our attitude and our outlook is to play such a significant role in our mental health, then I’m sticking with my dream catcher for now. It makes me feel better, and anything healthy that works is a keeper. Dream peacefully, warriors. .

It's scary to let go of what's familiar.
Doesn't matter if it is positive or negative.
Letting go is hard because you don't know what you get in return.
You don't know if what you get in return is better than what you now have or worse.
There is no way of knowing. Not before you take the plunge.
All you know is what you have now.
And no matter if it's pleasant or not, you know how to handle it.
This could mean staying in a job that sucks.
Staying in a relationship that's not working.
Or staying in that beautiful house, while actually it's not what you want anymore.
You need to let something go.
There is no room for everything you have now and everything in your dreams.
You know what it is you need to let go.
You know what is not working anymore.
You might pretend you don't know what needs to change, but you do know.
You might not know how, but you do know what.
It feels so familiar to keep clinging on to it.
It feels safe in some way.
So you stay where you are.
But you do know it's what's keeping you from getting something better.
It's keeping you from growing. From evolving.
Keeping you from everything that is possible, too.
Some things are easier to let go than others.
When you have a hard time to let things go, start with something smaller.
Really let that go.
Let go of that old phone, piece of clothing, or smoking. Whatever it might be for you.
Be aware of what the change does to you.
Was it really that scary? Was it really that bad to be uncomfortable for a little while?
Or did you forget in 1 week or month things were ever different and you have a new normal?
By letting something go regularly, you can get used to change.
You will see that change is not a bad thing.
Take one step at the time and in 1 year your life can be completely different.
Just let go of what is not working.

Who says there's a right or wrong way to be a woman?
I believe in empowering women and respecting whatever decisions they make for themselves, even if I may not agree or make the same for myself.
Whether it be education, work, relationships, motherhood, choosing to not having children, or physical appearance....Yeah, especially that last one. I could go on & on!
Girl, if you want to let your hair go grey and that makes you feel the most natural by all means do it, but don't judge the woman beside you who enjoys getting her hair colored every month.
Maybe you want make a lifestyle change and start committing more time to exercise? YAS sister! Just be sure to ignore the women who without fail will give you their unsolicited advice.... "don't get too muscular or don't get too skinny." 🙄
Hell, if you want to get a little Botox to ease your tired mom eyes or the forehead crease that makes you look angry when you're really not. DO IT, and don't hide it just because someone once made you feel like you were committing a crime against humanity. 😱😂 Their issue not yours, am I right?
Whatever you want to do with your body is YOUR choice plain and simple.
I get so sick of hearing the bullshit judgment and shaming that goes on between women. Especially Moms! Oh my god it’s the worst! 🤦🏻♀️ We need to get our “ish” together & make a point to take care of one another and show our fellow women R-E-S-P-E-C-T
End rant. 😂✌🏼
This is how everyone of us should be waking up everyday. So many people don’t get the chance. It’s scientifically proven that we had a 1 out 400 trillion odds to being born. You, me, your neighbor, your kids are a miracle. Just be grateful for everything you have in your life. You’re blessed more then most ❤️👊🙏
