Based on Emily Giffin's novel of the same name, Something Borrowed is an American romcom directed by Luke Greenfield. Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Darcy (Kate Hudson) are childhood best friends. Rachel has a longtime crush on Dex (Colin Egglesfield), who is engaged to Darcy. But Dex is secretly in love with Rachel and soon an affair begins.
A love triangle gone wrong, this film is about love, friendship and betrayal. What I liked is that each character is so essentially flawed. Kate Hudson played well the role of a narcissistic extrovert as she has in a bunch of other romcoms. Ginnifer Goodwin did great as a cute, insecure introvert who we can't help but sympathize for. In contrast to popular opinion, I actually loved Colin Egglesfield as Dex. He perfectly played the part of a confused soul. I'm not gonna go into the ethicality of the plot about how Rachel and Dex were wrong in their conduct and whether Darcy deserved better or not. You can find the whole discussion related to it on the internet.
As far as comedy goes, there's not much to it except a few scenes. Thanks to John Krasinski and Steve Howey for providing a little comic relief.
In all, loved the actors. Loved their characters. The screenplay could have been better but it is still one of my favourite movie after all these years. What can I say? Romance always gets me hooked. ⭐⭐⭐½

Title: The Revenant
Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter and Forrest Goodluck.
Synopsis: A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
Director: Alejandro G. Iñárritu
This is a prime example of a film that has been extremely well thought through and taken seriously. The first thing I'll say is that it is very hard to watch, there are certain scenes that may result in you wanting to look away. I love the idea of using the natural light when filming, so there were no visual effects in that instance. The acting is just phenomenal, Leo finally lands his long awaited Oscar win and he damn well deserves it. Hardy was extremely enjoyable as well, definitely worth the Oscar nod. The cinematography and locations are extraordinary, stunning and beautiful to look at. The story is great, there have been films with this kind of story but the delivery of this in particular is very unique.

My husband came home from work last night and seemed to be in an okay mood. After a few hugs I went to make dinner. By the time dinner was ready, I noticed he hadn't come out of the bedroom so I figured he wanted to eat there. So I served our food and thought I might as well make it cozy and turn it to movie night (oversabi abi? I know🙈). I went through the trouble of setting up the laptop and speaker, balanced properly on the bed to start enjoying our time together when he suddenly said "Bisi my heart is burdened, I'm not happy." Ahhh egbami my husband is not happy ke 🙆♀️ I immediately dropped the fork that was on its way to my mouth, paused the movie and gave him my full attention. "What is the matter my love? What burdens you burdens me? Talk to me babe." My heart was doing somehow already because me I don't like all these awkward moments when you have to now be encouraging and doing good wife 😃🙈. But this is my husband we are talking about, I can't bear his unhappiness. So I focused.
He sat up and turned to me, then he said "Bisi Nigeria can't bear another four years of Buhari's administration, Buhari can't win the coming election." I released the breath I was holding and gave him a look I can't even describe to you. Then I started laughing and eating my food🤣. He said Bisi I'm serious, my heart is paining me. I stared laughing again and he went on and on about his pain and how God has to raise some one..... Me I'm still giving him side eye for almost giving me hypertension. Please if you know how Buhari will not win this coming election, biko share your recommendations. Help ease awa pain🤣

"Sé que te encontraré en esas ruinas, ya no tendremos que hablar del temblor..." ❤️📷 My shots made for "Temblar", a theater play about the 2017's earthquake in Mexico city.
The play touches sensitive points about the tragedy but also works as a space to feel in touch with the fear and the feelings that almost everyone experimented that September 19.
Yesterday, a year ago was one of the hardest days on my life. I haven't talked too much about cause I still mentally affected by my experience while the earthquake and the days after that. I got so impressed by the help, by the good people but also by the tragedy and I felt totally useless even while I was not sleeping and running from side to side of the city trying to help. This is the first time that I say in social media that I was a volunteer cause for me it wasn't about me but also I spent so many days feeling guilty because I was alive, but also with so much fear (even today I still affected by the earthquake alarm). So, good to know that everyone still here, reading or posting stuff.
Lots of love. ❤️ #theater #teatro #mexicantheatre #drama #play #culturephotography #fotografiateatral #mexico #mexicocity #mexican #mexicoistheshit #septiembre19 #mexicoearthquake #sismo #mexicanphotographer #photographergirl

The Band’s Visit / book by Itamar Moses, music and lyrics by David Yazbek

👏🏻 At once subdued and sublime, this was a transcendent musical experience. It packed so much emotion, thought, and beauty into a brief 90 minutes, becoming a compelling meditation on the power of imagination, art, and love. The music was simply brilliant and opened itself up in perfect harmony with the tonal and thematic arc of the narrative. It was also incredibly refreshing to hear these Middle Eastern tunes rising from a Broadway stage. All the performances were terrific, but Katrina Lenk (as Dina) and Sasson Gabay (as Tewfiq) were, of course, something else. Scott Pask’s thoughtful and smart set design, Tyler Micoleau’s poetically charged lighting, and Maya Ciarrocchi’s elegant projections were integral to the cumulative effect of this silently explosive feast. The Telephone Guy’s presence and function in the piece, with all his visual presence, attested to the lyrical sensibility of Itamar Moses’ book.
👎🏻 “Haled’s Song About Love” and “Answer Me” were not nearly as strong and enchanting as the rest of the score. It was somewhat of a bummer to see that the show’s final song was “Answer Me.” That said, this is by no means the kind of musical that would end with a showstopper.
Dear Evan Hansen / book by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
The Music Box Theatre / directed by Michael Greif

👏🏻 Phenomenal: it truly lives up to the hype. A heart-wrenching, heartfelt story (so much so that it could very easily have led to a gripping play), made even more moving by utterly beautiful music. And, of course, Taylor Trensch’s enchanting performance, which far surpassed that of anyone else on the stage (even though the whole cast was overall very strong): not only was his voice very impressive, but he breathed so much life into his character, creating an Evan Hansen of his own. “For Forever,” “You Will Be Found,” and “So Big/So Small” were probably my favorite numbers. The amazing projection design by Peter Nigrini must also receive its due credit!
👎🏻 Perhaps some of the performances, particularly the two understudies who played the Murphys. But even their weakest moments did not detract much from the show’s continual power. Also, some of the songs could have been slightly shorter.
👉🏻 A compelling, thought-provoking, and highly relevant story about loneliness, mental health, and community, Dear Evan Hansen asks us hard questions that outlive the duration of the show, even as it delights one with its finely crafted, beautiful music.
