Hit a new PB today on hip thrusters 130 kgs for 5 reps 💪🏾 I didn’t get to video the entire workout but thanks to @strong.as.fulat for pushing me to go heavier every time 🙏🏾 60 kgs on RDL and sumo squats for 10 reps/ 4 rounds in total 💥💥💥 the only true love hate relationship I have is with leg days 💪🏾 hope you all smashed your goals for this week ⚡️ have a lovely weekend 💖

The aim with my online coaching clients is to get them consistently meeting a calorie target day after day. However, some days you can be flexible and eat more as long as other days you eat less. Naturally I like for my clients to eat more on a training day, to give them more energy to train and help recover from workouts. Let’s explore . . 🙋‍♀️Now of course, training should be personalized for the individual, regardless of their gender. That’s the first point. However, for the majority of people, the basics will always work wonders. These basics include, lifting heavy weights, trying to get stronger, aiming to build muscle, mixing in resistance training (weights, band, bodyweight) and cardio and trying to keep a healthy body fat range. These are fundamental basics . . 🙅🏻‍♂️There are gender differences, yes. For instance, a woman’s body fat should (and most likely will) always be higher than a mans, from a health perspective. I also find women handle pain better and recover quicker from session to session. However, men often have the advantage of being able to train less frequently and are able to put on muscle mass. There’s pros and cons for both genders . . 🤷‍♀️If you’re a female reading this, please don’t be scared of weight training and the like. You won’t turn into a man! Men and women are made differently, but when it comes to putting on muscle and fat loss, there shouldn’t be huge differences with basic training fundamentals . . ❓Questions? 💥How to stop being Skinny Fat by @fitlike_abeast 💥 . . 🏋️‍♂️Now of course, you can’t just flick a switch to stop being skinny fat! This is more how do you go from being skinny fat to achieving a lean, toned physique. It takes time, consistency and patience, first and foremost, but here’s 4 things to do: . . 1️⃣You have to be lifting weights and making them challenging every time. Doing 100 reps with little pink 2lb dumbbells is not what I mean by challenging. Grab the 20lbs and do 3 hard sets of 6-8 reps. That’s much more effective in terms of changing the shape and look of your body . . 2️⃣There has to be a mindset shift away from always focusing on fat loss, to getting stronger and building muscle. Firstly this is way more fun and secondly, what you’ll find is the stronger you get and more muscle you have, the lower your body fat percentage will be anyway! . . 3️⃣Some cardio has its place and I have no issues with some steady state walking a few times a week. However, overdoing the cardio (especially HIIT) is probably why you’re skinny fat in the first place, and it can be counter productive to building muscle. If you want to include something at the end of your workout to jack your heart rate up, heavy sled pushes or Farmers carries will do this, but at least you’re lifting weights at the same time! . . 4️⃣Forget the scale weight. I’ve had many previously skinny fat clients who’ve achieved a firmer, more toned body, without the scales even moving! Hold a (baby) weight on your hips and keep it in place using your hands to stabilize it the entire time. Engage the glutes to lift the hips up as high as possible (make sure the lift is coming from your glutes and not your low back by keeping back straight and core engaged). 💥Seated Barbell Overhead Press by @sam_xceedfit 💥 . . 🏋️‍♂️Huge fan of this shoulder press variation. Whilst the standing overhead press will always produce higher numbers on the bar, the seated version is tough as you can’t use the lower body for help. It’s super challenging on the core and back too! Here’s how to do it: . . 1️⃣ Position a 90 degree seat/bench in the middle of a squat rack. Have the bar at the height of where you finish your last rep, so it’s easier to put back . . 2️⃣ Have your grip so that your hands are in line with your elbows at all times. Keep your whole body tight by driving your feet into the floor, your bum into the seat, have your shoulder blades back and down and tighten your core . . 3️⃣ Take the bar off the rack and lower it slowly down in line with your neck, before pressing it overhead, stopping just before lockout. If you’ve gone heavy enough this will get tough very quickly! . . 🏋️‍♂️Personally I like going heavy on this exercise; 3-4 sets of 6-8 reps with a pause at the bottom.
