Detail from one of the amazing glass mosaics by Iranian artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian - she’s about 90 now, has had a long career. We were really lucky to catch the last day of the exhibition and did a lovely family workshop.
At Wolfgang Tillmans exhibition. The kids were so impressed by the huge prints they measured each by footsteps
Do you by any chance have a wall in your house that looks something like this? Stacked to the ceiling with stuff? We bet you do.
People of Dublin: we want your dirt. Over the next few weeks, we hope to acquire many collections of small things with a connection to Dublin. It could be 65 or 665 Dublin sweets, letters, or shells. Maybe you own a collection of matchboxes, business cards, confectionery, groceries, shampoos, bottle tops, body parts, toothpastes, passport photos or drivers’ licences. Among the collections already acquired by the museum is a set of tennis balls discarded by the dogs of Dun Laoghaire, 1997-2017.
To apply, please send a photo and short description of your collection to email@example.com
by 5pm on Friday, December 14th.

Super Sunday for kids at IMMA
Thinking of Frida Kahlo at the V&A: I was so happy to see the exhibition on 9th November and deeply moved by it, just as I was deeply moved by a brief visit to Mexico City in 1981. Sad to say, I didn't visit the Blue House, but was organised into seeing much of the work of Diego Reverá. I was also profoundly affected by the deep devotion at the shrine to the Virgin of Guadeloupe
Making up -
With tiny scraps
Just a little
But still I think
Of making up -
With tiny fragments
Of slubbed silk
And every fine fabric
To the world of
The red Brick wall
And the rags
Always the rags
And make me know
How much the rags, Now painting cloths,
Have their place in the world
Every bit as much
Much more than
On the catwalk
Oh how the rags
Let’s all wear rags for a day
No! A week!
Let's show 'em
Wear the rags with pride
Wear rags and smile
With swags and swags of style
Every fine fabric
From the Silk Road
To the Old Bog Road
To the field of flax
Let the cloth of old

Hi, please return me to Ireland. 🍀
This year marks the 100-year anniversary since Countess Constance Markievicz, born Constance Gore-Booth, was appointed as Westminster’s first female MP.
Drawing on Constance’s letters to her sister Eva (both pictured above) from prison, Mary Kenny’s monologue ‘Dearest Old Darling’ recounts the life and personality of Countess Markievicz during the tumultuous era between 1916 and 1926.
The monologue, featuring renowned actress Jeananne Crowley as Constance with Mary providing narrator’s links, opens at the museum next week and runs for three nights only, from November 14-16. Don’t miss this limited engagement! Secure your seats now at the link in our bio.
