Ben’s bday drink from Dutch Bros last month was so fun! They put the sprinkles and writing on one lid and covered it with another lid so it would stay in place, so creative!
Earlier this morning I was reflecting on the past two days and how I haven't been the best mother to my girls lately. While I was making my way to work this afternoon I decided to stop at Dutch Bros to grab a coffee and figured I would put a smile on someone else's face while I was in my feelings about the struggles of motherhood. I told myself if a car winds up behind me before I pull off I'll treat them to whatever they order. Next thing I know a police officer pulls up behind me so I pay for the order and wait for my beverage. Before I pull off the officer is at my passenger window asking for a hug. I gave her a huge hug and watched as she smiled all the way back to her vehicle.
1. I love random acts of kindness and will be making sure I do them during times when I may not be in a good space. Not only did putting a smile on her face make my day, but it helped me realize how quickly your day can turn around by making someone else happy. 2. I don't have to beat myself up from my struggles through motherhood because sometimes motherhood isn't as pretty as we all make it seem. Embracing the not so glam side of motherhood leads to growth and will help me down the road as I stumble on another parenting "fail" in the future.
3. It's ok to take some time for yourself and not feel guilty about it. Today could have been a day where I stayed home with the girls, but instead I went into work for a distraction and to get my mind off of things. Basically this mama needed a quick break and it was just what I needed.
