Hi. ☀️ A few updates since I don't post as much these days. This is the first new year in a while where I'm not participating in a 30 day yoga challenge. I have realized for a while now that #yogaeverydamnday really isn't what my body needs (well, the physical stuff that is). I am trying to #meditate every morning and I do the physical stuff here and there during the week. #gomukhasana#cowfacepose#eaglearms .
As for my hair, it never bounced back from the blowout. So it appears I will have to start this natural hair journey all over again. I know everyone will not understand but it's quite devastating after having spent 6 years learning to care for, and most importantly, love what God gave me. We still live in a society that views our (black people) hair as bad and I am proud to have overcome years of self hatred. On the bright side, I've transitioned to natural hair before so I know what to expect and I know what to do. I look forward to keeping you guys posted on my new journey.

No matter how much we want, we can’t change someone. But we can change the way we behave and react towards them. Maybe then we will find more compassion for this person and also inspire them to live more compassionately.

🦅Welcome to day 4️⃣ of #NewYearBalances todays pose is eagle. I decided to take eagle arms while in mountain pose, it feels so good on my shoulders and upper back. I closed my eyes and focused on the natural sway of my body. This was really grounding but made the pose much harder.

HOW WE MET?? I had a 48hour stop-over in Kuala Lumpur on my way to AUS. Then went to the blindmen massage in India town. After I felt woozy and stopped to have something to eat at restaurant Ghandi. He walked out, dressed in orange. Probably a yogi, i thought. We said Hi. Then later he came back with his computer. We started to talk as we were the only foreigners in there. The talk lasted for 10hours!! Ended up in Truth and Illusions topic straight away. He told me he had been a Monk for the last 15 years and I felt so happy within, to be able to ask as much as Spiritual questions that I had been walking around with for so long!! & that i was sitting front row feeling comfortable to ask all that was in my mind. Cause I always felt to shy to ask questions to Teachers. A month later we met in the Philipines again. And then he came to Amsterdam for 5 days. He actually never left. In 48hours I stumbled upon Love and it took me on a fast track journey of devotion and how to be a woman in the relationship that I never had experienced before. Finally I can be the woman I hoped one day to be. I feel so blessed to have him on my side awakening me. We got out 1st big snowstorm of the year... my 4 yo is thrilled. 🙆♂️ After spending time shoveling snow ❄ taking time to stretch can alleviate tightness in shoulders and back 💪. Here are three stretches to work out those tight muscles.
1- forward fold with shoulder opener
2- eagle arms
3- crescent lunge with twist ❄Enjoy the #winterwonderland ! ❄
