This 16 year old girl underwent bilateral otoplasty (“pinning back” of the ears) to treat her prominent ear deformity. She is seen here pre-op and 2 weeks post-op. This is a common procedure performed on both males and females, ranging from 4 years old to adulthood. Goals of surgery are to create symmetric, naturally appearing ears. The results are immediate and can be life transforming. It is the best feeling to see these girls walk into my office smiling and with their hair pulled back in a pony tail for the first time! Warms my heart each time!
