As a Colorado native, I never appreciated that there's still a real sense of the "wild west" in our mountains. Just consider some of the names of some past and present towns easily driveable from the Rusty Spinner: Tin Cup, Buckskin Joe, Fairplay, Eureka, Uptop, Muleshoe... We live in a John Wayne movie!
This is the middle fork of the South Platte River near the Rusty Spinner. Always knew it was great fly water, never knew it was a main reason why the area was settled back in 1850’s (lots of gold in this river)
So what’s that mysterious blue background behind the Rusty Spinner Lodge? It’s something that those of you east of here haven’t seen in a while! It may be cold, but fish are biting and slopes are calling!
