A very low Carbohydrate diet (keto) can have metabolic and performance benifits. When training with depleted muscle glycogen, the body is forced to adapt and rely on other fuels such as ketones and creatine phosphate . Training is hard initially, but it gets easier with time. Your body and metabolism will adapt to the fuels available and become very efficient.
You will not achieve peak performance in keto, but it can be a useful step on the journey to conditioning your body for maximal performance.
Excessive food & Carbohydrate consumption are likely factors in many diseases plaguing our society.
Do your self a favor and try it out for yourself! The first week is tough, but it gets easier. Target 1 month of low carb, high fat foods, and focus on plant based foods high in fibers and phyto nutrients.

musing: my background is predominantly Irish. As I fall more in love with things like avocado toast 🥑, it's crazy to think that only a couple generations ago, my ancestors had a very limited diet. They didn't get to enjoy avocados, watermelon🍉, quinoa, or strawberries🍓. These are things that come perfect from nature that I take for granted everyday.

“Athletes don’t workout and diet. They eat and train” . Working out is comparably a much smaller portion of changing your body and getting healthier than eating properly . Some of the best results I’ve experienced in terms of gains occur when my diet is absolutely on point !
A lot of people always ask vegetarians “where do you get your protein from? “ , LOTS of places is the answer. If you’ve struggled with this, I personally rely a lot on beans and dark green veggies . I also usually eat about 2 eggs a day , not egg whites, the full thing . As long as your cardio is on point , you don’t have to worry about two eggs a day. It’s statistically proven that doing intense cardio or HIIT can improve blood cholesterol levels in JUST a few sessions !
